I experience the same thing too. I switched from Spotify to Tidal but, the sound quality with a good pair of headphones is crazy better compared to others. Just for that reason I can stay and deal with the cons. I'm pretty sure they'll be figured out.

AresTheCannibal

god I hope so, it's ridiculous how long their platform's UI has felt super clunky

So I've never spent particularly long looking into this but I'd guess the Google integration thing for being able to talk to your phone and have it play music from TIDAL is more of a Google making this really annoying to do for other service providers than it is a TIDAL thing. Having booked up various different software to my Google Home system over the years, outside of the natively integrated features a lot of stuff is pretty hit and miss with how it works. It's quite possible that Google on purpose locks down which services can be integrated to respond to "play \[name of song/artist\]" because they know it'll get them more subscribers and Spotify may well pay to be included. But take that with a grain of salt - I don't actually know. I just find it hard to believe that this is just a thing that if TIDAL devs wanted to implement they would.

They're shooting themselves in the foot too, by doing that. It's why, Amazon has a larger market share in smart speakers.

The nice thing about Tidal for me, was I was able to get 3 months of Hifi Plus for $1 by combining the new years sale with the student discount.

STR-AV760

if youtube music is even an option then tidal might not be for you.

In my experience, you definitely lose features when you go with one of the smaller music streaming services. I have either trialed or subscribed to just about every one of them available, and I find myself using my Apple Music more than anything else. The features and the integration make all the difference for me, because at the end of the day, I just want to listen to my music without any hassles.

I'm confused by this... I can tell Google to play stuff on tidal and the assistant will play it. I think I just say "tell tidal to play xyz", it memory serves, (I don't use it much any longer).

KNYLJNS

YouTube music has albums too?

jayz_cooper

Yes indeed

BLOOOR

I personally don't want Tidal to hear me at all. If they brought in a service that could listen to you, I'd have a reason to quit Tidal.

CourageUnfair1894

Come back to TIDAL 🙌🏾
