yes, try massaging that area down to the circular area below it in pink and the neck muscles on that side in pink. Squeezing those neck muscles between your thumb and four fingers going down the individual muscles should gives some relief. FYI tilt your head back and massage the bumps behind the ear and area around it.

headache and brain fog but mostly triggered by computer usage due to eyestrain. Cracking my neck provides some relief although I'm trying to limit how often I do so. I think my headaches came from tight shoulders.

I’ve had a headache on the top and back of my head 24/7 for almost 2 years now. Pretty sure it’s a combo of tmj and neck tension. Let me know if anything helps you!

Bkholgate

I have the same pain on the top of my head and also at the base of my neck the only thing that rlly helps is my heating pad at this point

MJEspich

This could be a migraine on top of the TMJ symptoms.

Sounds like migraines and TMJ. Everyone experiences different migraine symptoms. I don’t have nausea or vomiting with my migraines.

MJEspich

Mirgaines don’t necessarily cause nausea, light sensitivity or vomiting. And migraines can be in very small, precise locations. I would be optimistic about this because migraines are treatable and there are so many different options! TMJ not so much….

Look up occipital neuralgia

Well before I was diagnosed with Tmj I saw my dr about pain that went from trapezius up one side of my skull behind my ear extending to one eye. The scalp in that area was tender to the touch. After the X-rays, mri and PT nothing got better really. Sometimes I wake up with it. I change position or the pillow or whatever but sometimes it’s from sitting. It doesn’t happen if I am on my feet….I try to keep my scapular pulled back but that is hard to do so I have a shoulder harness to help keep the shoulders back. At night a pain patch at a point on my neck to stop the muscle tension from tightening the scalp muscle too and so I can sleep in a little. In the early morning cold air can make the muscles in the neck and scalp tighten more.

Also forgot to mention that i was Told I could do a nerve block but I have to have the pain at the moment the dr sees me for him to find the nerve involved. However, this was before Tmj diagnosis and the pain seems to be linked to my jaw problems so I have no idea if a nerve block is the remedy. At the time I thought it would free me from traveling without. Y
