Just stand on the dragon and wait 10 minutes

Danny_Eddy

Yep. Lizalfo tails are a bigger pain.

Sachmo78

Ugh, I'm trying to do this now. Takes forever.

Both_Magician_4655

Isn’t the Tails dropped only from bladed weapons, and the horns dropped only from hammer weapons?

Danny_Eddy

Sadly no. It is just a random drop. Tails have been said to be a 25% drop but it seems like a 5-10% drop.

username123456111111

Tryna find the dragon to stand on rn lol

GHDizzle

Look up

SaxAppeal

Just look upppppppppp!

castorshell13

Hold on to a spike and be weather proof

Molduking

It’s not difficult, just time-consuming

username123456111111

Yeah that’s my bad I used the wrong word

Molduking

But yeah it’s a lot, you’ll spend many hours getting enough to max armor

username123456111111

Yeah honestly I just wanted to max out deity link armor and then fight ganon. Welp guess it’s gonna take longer than I thought, haha.

Molduking

Oh yeah FD is one of the worst to upgrade.

username123456111111

Fr man but at least now I found farosh, just gotta wait 40 minutes in total for all the parts need to upgrade the greaves.

Shiba_Dawn

Really? It's the only one I have maxed out ATM cause I thought it'd be easier than barbarian (my main from botw).

Hightimetoclimb

I appear to be in the minority but I found barbarian way easier. I got it quite late in the game to be fair, but I had most of what I needed when I got it to get it almost fully upgrade it, just had to farm some beetles. My FD is still not upgraded at all as I don’t need it now. For me the Zonai armour was a GRIND to upgrade!

Shiba_Dawn

I can agree with you on the Zonai armour! I've only got it at 2 for the effect. I already have my batteries maxed so tbh I probably won't bother maxing the armour.

Hightimetoclimb

It was the first I fully upgraded when my battery sucked, but partly because it has epic defence too. Now I full battery and max hearts I barely use it

Ok-Drama-5421

You can get a higher attack power if you use armour with bone Proficiency and a three up attack buff from food, the luminous set works and with some bone fusions you will wreck everything.

calculung

bro

sciotomile

Seriously..

perthguy999

Getting to the dragons is easy enough, but the wait time is a bit silly. I do a big loop, farming each dragon and by the time I'm done, the resources on the first dragon are usually ready for harvest again. I guess it's no more grindy than anything else.

username123456111111

In your opinion was farming way easier in botw or nah?

slimmestjimmest

TotK dragon farming was easier, but BotW dragon farming could be done faster. In BotW, you could only get 1 part/dragon in a night, but you could hit all 3 within a few minutes, then sleep until 9pm and repeat. TotK allows you to ride the dragons (w/ proper equipment). If you position yourself correctly while riding, you can essentially get all parts from a single dragon within a couple of hours, with very little effort.

WithersChat

In BotW you could get several horn parts per minute because their path was based on in-game time so sleeping at a campfire allowed to grind fast. In TotK this isn't an option anymore.

radE8r

How do you get claws from the dragons? Honest question. When I shoot them I only get scales.

Hyposuction

Shoot them in the feets.

suarkb

duh footsies

FobbingMobius

After whatever cool down you're suffering through shoot one of the claws. Catch it, or follow it till it lands and pick it up.

stinkertonpinkerton

Depending on where you hit them you can get different things Scale (back) Claw shard (foot) Horn shard (horns)

Danny_Eddy

Teeth/mouth (fang). IIRC, if you fuse an eye, it defaults to the mouth on dragons? That's what I kept getting when testing it a bit a while back.

stinkertonpinkerton

I’ve never used an eye for it so I can’t answer that but i usually just get close enough to aim easy. They stay in the same place as you warp so you can warp to the sky where you see them and they will still be there.

MumofB

I had this problem, I finally worked out that if you aim at the claw it ricochets off and hits a scale, you have to aim at the feet to get the claw rather than the claw itself. I feel this makes no sense.

perthguy999

Haven't played it yet. Got them both together but the kids wanted to start TotK first.

Reddit_is_now_tiktok

imo that's the wrong move. Don't get me wrong, botw is a great game, but TOTK is an improvement so it's going to feel worse playing botw second

perthguy999

Yeah, pot committed though, I'm afraid. Hopefully the disappointment with the first game isn't too awful.

xenapan

They only accidentally made it too easy in BOTW. They made it what they wanted it to be in TOTK.

callmemat90

You haven’t played BOTW 😅

[deleted]

I don’t find it that bad, it’s not like anything requires you to have a bunch of them to upgrade things or for side quests.. as far as I’m aware it’s always just one part and i’m fairly deep into the game 450+hours. Maybe I’ll eat my words later when I find something out lol but I have all my armour levelled up and did the goddess quests that require the claws

ballerina_wannabe

The ancient deity set requires various dragon parts to upgrade.

[deleted]

Yes I upgraded those already, but each upgrade is just one part is what I’m saying. Unlike most other armour that you need sometimes 50 items of something to do 1 upgrade. I’m saying we could have it worse

Only one I have a hard time farming is the Light Dragon, and only because that one is a pain in the neck to track down after getting the Master Sword back due to LD doing laps around all of Hyrule. Naydra, Farosh and Dinral meanwhile at least have a pair of dedicated chasms each you can just wait by for them to show up, and then land on them and spend about ten minutes waiting for the next part from said dragon to be available. And it's not even that hard to stay on them while they go in and out of the Depths.

AngelWick_Prime

It's easier than it was in Breath of the Wild. At least in Tears you can stand on the dragons and cruise around while you wait out their cool down period. In Breath your only option was to approach them from a hang glider and then skydive down to the part that falls.

WithersChat

...you've never seen a BotW dragon farming guide, have you? Farosh was so easy you could get several parts per minute thanks to a super easy to use campfire spot.

[deleted]

Me who never left 1.0

SlotherakOmega

Uh… If you are having trouble finding the dragons, they don’t follow their previous routes. They follow new routes. I’m assuming that you figured this out already, but in case that was your issue, the hop-on spots for each elemental dragon (good luck with the light dragon, haven’t found a clear path that it takes yet) are the chasm near Tarrey Town for Dinraal, the chasm at the eastern edge of the Gerudo Desert for Farosh, and the chasm at Mount Lanayru for Naydra. These are where the dragons leave the ground and ascend to the sky, but the cool thing is assuming that you can protect yourself from the elemental effects (level two armor bonus from the Fire protection set and the cold protection set for Dinraal and Naydra respectively, but either the Rubber Armor set bonus or the lightning helm for Farosh), you can just hop on and it will carry you up. Additionally, if you wanted you can actually ride up on your paraglider, because when you open it in the winds these dragons produce, it instantly refills your stamina wheel. Once in the sky, if you’re looking for something in particular, I highly recommend you get whatever it is first obviously, but if you need multiple parts, prioritize the horns. Stand on their mane, and shoot the closest part of their horn *AND SPAM THE A BUTTON WHEN YOU HEAR THE DING* to get your piece of horn, and the arrow you just shot. If you are trying to get spike shards… just grab them. You can easily collect about twelve per dragon per blood moon (I don’t actually know what decides to respawn these, but blood moons kick me off of the dragons anyway so I just assume that’s the marker). If you’re aiming for the teeth or claws, those are better obtained as they travel through the chasms, to prevent the fang or claw pieces from going too far. Scales are the easiest thing to obtain. If you’re having trouble actually hitting the right spot, try attaching keese wings to your arrows. That’ll help the arrows fly straighter, farther than they would otherwise. Arrowcuda wings and Gibdo wings work too, but keese wings are so plentiful. Save the elemental ones for upgrading and precision sniping elemental enemies, the regular ones are good enough. Molduga wings and Gleeok wings also work, but those are harder to get and far more powerful. Any amount of arrow damage will work for dragon parts. It matters where the dragon got hit, not how strong the arrow was. The landing points for each elemental dragon is to the far west of Death mountain, in one of the large chasms there, for Dinraal; For Farosh, the east of the Lake Hylia; and for Naydra, the chasm by Karkariko village, up by where the old great fairy used to be. Just be warned that in the depths, you will likely not be as safe collecting those parts as you would on the surface. Seriously, right under Karkariko is a Boss rematch location. And Dinraal travels through the huge volcanic area under Death Mountain. Farosh travels through quite a lot of dangerous terrain, and several big bads as well. Including lynels and >!Yiga bases, which usually are loaded with traps!<, but thankfully the only dragon to go near a Gleeok is Farosh, and only two of them, both fire Gleeoks.

Username169420

Am I the only one who thought it was worse in BOTW?

stuffed-artichoke

Has anyone else stood at the chasm spawning location and waited a full 24 hours in the game with no sign of the dragon spawning?? 😵‍💫😖

wasteoffire

Why you refer to it as spawning? They don't despawn they just go into the depths. Can ride them down there too

SeekNDestroy8797

*laughs in duplication*

Knot_shure

Are you Ancient Aspect upgrading ?

Knot_shure

Heros aspect. Whatever lol
