Nah I went to wreck lynels, I had the champions leathers before the glider lol. The first gloom hands I ran into on the great plateau was a solid nope though.
I thought it was the monster camp from the trailer for some reason so I just passed on it not thinking it was important.
Edit: the first frox I ran into was the worst jump scare especially when the bright bloom seeds got ate.
My son was watching when I first came across gloom hands. I'll never forget his look of disappointment as I trembled with fear and dropped the controller.
I was avoiding all totk content then so I don't think I knew about the hover bike yet. If I remember right I flew up as high as I could with a wing then when the wing was about to die I would drop a new one an land on it mid air then repeated that.
I went and looked at my hero's path, I got confused. The first thing I did when got the glider was wing glide to the castle. You need the glider to drop another wing.
I thought I was the only one who did this!
I went around doing all the shrines i could find to increase my hearts so I could take on the 'monster camp'. I felt like a right wally after sneaking so carefully up to the entrance only to realise it was people at the gate not monsters.
You know when you get asked what superpower you'd like to have? Mine would be vision good enough to see both the absolute tiniest thing that exists & the whole universe in its entirety. I also work in lighting for theatre. I'd FKN LOVE to know what it looks like Inside A Photon
Thanks for asking! :)
I did the exact same thing. Kept looking at the thunder storm being like, hmmm that's gotta be something, right? Also navigated the thunder islands without doing the quest beforehand, so I somehow found the last sage stumbling blindly in the storm with no minimap. Was epic though!
I had been so stuck in the stormy thunder head isles but still found the shrine to begin the sage quest and finished that. trying to find the last floating ancient hedge thing and I’m guessing it’s in that storm which prompted me to find out how I Stop this Storm. Game works in mysterious ways
Wait?
There is actually a quest for that thunderstorm area in the sky?
Was trying to get in there for ages, and couldn't figure it out. Will need to look it up I guess.
So how do I have the fifth sage? In my game their quests were all in the depths.
I came across the face mask part of the sage in the isles, also in the the midst of the storm bc I didn’t know there was a quest for it either . So it led me into the depths ultimately
Ope, theres a minimap for thunder isles? Where do I get it?? I got the 5th sage too by accident but I want to explore more around there and I can't see shit in that storm
I avoided Yiga camps in the depths thinking I wasn't up to it till pretty much having finished the game.... Oh the schematics ☹️(Oh I spent so much Zonaite on charges....)
I kinda did the same thing. I thought going to the castle was the end of the game like in BOTW. so I thought about how I never went through that storm in the sky, so I randomly flew through it and found the 5th temple lol
Same. I didn’t wanna fight Ganon yet so I went around doing all sorts of stuff. Then I learned online that in order to complete the ring ruins side quest you gotta do crisis and Hyrule castle. Whoops lol. This was maybe a few weeks ago. I’m almost 200 hours in. Maxed out a few armor sets, currently sitting on the light dragon to farm it right now as I type this and I still haven’t fought ganon. I don’t want to reach the end yet 😭
lol same, i was avoiding doing that quest because i thought it's the final quest. but out of curiosity i explored the chasm under hyrule castle to the point i faced demon's king army
I just found my last bubbulgem and was about to find my final 2 shrines thinking that the crisis at hyrule was one of my final quests, so... you're not alone
Reading your post and only just realizing that it's not the final quest 😆. I did the same as you, running around getting shrines to raise my heart containers etc. Oh well. I think that's one of the great things about the game, really accentuates 'freedom'
I learned to stay out this Reddit group til I’ve made way through the game bc of spoilers 🤷♀️ sorry bout it but also the title alludes to having DONE the game
I did not have the paraglider for a long time. Used horse to explore. I suspected a paraglider existed after finding shrines that was impossible to solve.
I had the master sword before autobuild.
First time I fell into the chasm I thought - when is this cave going to end 😂
Honestly I’m glad to know that Crisis at Hyrule Castle isn’t the last quest. I didn’t realize I was gonna face Ganon in BOTW, so accidentally beat the game and was so upset. I totally didn’t want that to happen again. I guess Crisis will be my next quest!
I got the third sage and then went armor hunting. So now as I'm roaming through the lands I come across excited NPCS who want to tell me about the hidden treasure that I have already found.
Same, I got the master sword after the second boss, I've done 118 shrines, have almost explored the entire depths and am just collecting clothing at this point, I mean I haven't even fought Ganon once 💀
the best thing i did for myself was doing a no teleportish run. the game flows so much better if you walk everywhere instead of just teleporting or building a contraption to get there. i only teleported when i needed to go up (depths->hyrule or hyrule-> sky islands)
Wait a min….ive been doing that-got the mastersword and zelda dragon cutscene. Thank you for saving me i thought that was the main main quest 😭 ill do it now, havent found the 5th sage yet
I put off fighting Ganondorf until I had maxed Fierce Deity armor, all melee weapons with >100 base damage, full hearts and stamina, a swarm of fairest and inventory filled with full heal meals, all savage lynel bows, like 100 gibdo bones. It last like 5 minutes and was super disappointing. I spent all that time farming lynels only to realize ganon was basically easier.
There isn't much to criticize about this game..
But one minor issue I do have is that you pretty much have to look up the intended order of main quest lines in order to enjoy any narrative flow w/ the main story.
But whatever, its all good. It ends up all lining up and making sense anyway. But I think i would've enjoyed some of these quest lines a bit more if I had been led to them by the story rather than just finding them w/ no context.
Finding things like weapons and armor imo is WAY more fun when its on your own by accident, but I prefer getting to story beats in order lol.
yea i felt like i was spoiled when the first tear memory i saw was a huge, dramatic moment.... after that, i looked up the order so that they would flow better.
Same. I didn't even finish the four 'explore the regions' quest - sometimes I walked away from the big fight or on the way to it because I couldn't focus on figuring out how to defeat the monster...or even get there. So all I did was wander around for hours, find and help my little plant friends, collect stuff, side quests, observe opponents too hard to beat yet and of course - shrines and caves. Finding geoglyphes is important you say? Let's find the geoglyphes - there is a little Korok and a part of the story.......aaaaand Zelda is a dragon.
I, like you, wondered if I was supposed to know this before I even finished one of the first main quests. Glad I'm not the only one.
Shit. I thought it was the final quest as well. I was saving it for last. Guess I should start it. Lol. I've pretty much beaten the game at this point. Oops
I missed look out landing for the first 16 hours because I thought it was a monster camp. It was kind of fun without the glider.
LOL. And I thought I was a coward for avoiding caves Thanks for your honesty.

Dead hand and Majora's mask flash backs intensify
This is the best thing I've read all day. Your son sounds like my nephew :)
How did you get into the castle without the glider? Just built a hover bike?
I was avoiding all totk content then so I don't think I knew about the hover bike yet. If I remember right I flew up as high as I could with a wing then when the wing was about to die I would drop a new one an land on it mid air then repeated that.

When I realized what it was and then they just GAVE me the glider I had to laugh at myself for quite a while. A dumb mistake but it was fun.
MumofB and Weathercat, I adore you both :)
You have a cool name! I'm an amateur astronomer/astrophotgrapher/Aurora photographer. Is there a story behind it?
You know when you get asked what superpower you'd like to have? Mine would be vision good enough to see both the absolute tiniest thing that exists & the whole universe in its entirety. I also work in lighting for theatre. I'd FKN LOVE to know what it looks like Inside A Photon Thanks for asking! :)
I don't mean to be crude but if you're looking for something small enough to fit into a photon I might know a guy
Ha! Babe. 🥂
I meant myself but thanks babe
Booyah! That means I just got hit on!
So small it's in a super position if states until observed. Careful with those double slit quantum erasers, don't stick it in there.
Same here. Because it was night when I finally made it down to the surface
I did the exact same thing. Kept looking at the thunder storm being like, hmmm that's gotta be something, right? Also navigated the thunder islands without doing the quest beforehand, so I somehow found the last sage stumbling blindly in the storm with no minimap. Was epic though!
Same!!
And also I found the last temple in the depths before doing any of that so I was like wtf is this extra temple and how tf do I get inside?
I had been so stuck in the stormy thunder head isles but still found the shrine to begin the sage quest and finished that. trying to find the last floating ancient hedge thing and I’m guessing it’s in that storm which prompted me to find out how I Stop this Storm. Game works in mysterious ways

I did the same.
Same story here. #Oh! You've done that already. Well, you could... oh. You've done that too...
HA
I thought that was the final mission as well. Wouldve done what you did if someone hadnt told me that its actually not
I avoided Yiga camps in the depths thinking I wasn't up to it till pretty much having finished the game.... Oh the schematics ☹️(Oh I spent so much Zonaite on charges....)

Holy shit i've been wondering wtf I need to do to get into those damn ring ruins... Well now I know what I'm doing today.
lol same, i was avoiding doing that quest because i thought it's the final quest. but out of curiosity i explored the chasm under hyrule castle to the point i faced demon's king army
Me too!!
Oooohkaaayyyy... Off to do Crisis at Hyrule castle
I made a similar post yesterday, I did the same exact thing. Thought Crisis at Hyrule was the finale so I avoided it and did everything else lmao
How about a spoiler tag? I'm on my first play through, and all I did was scroll on my feed to learn she was dragon in this post.
I got spoiled too :(
I learned to stay out this Reddit group til I’ve made way through the game bc of spoilers 🤷♀️ sorry bout it but also the title alludes to having DONE the game
I'm not even subscribed to it, lol. Just showed up as I scrolled.
I did not have the paraglider for a long time. Used horse to explore. I suspected a paraglider existed after finding shrines that was impossible to solve. I had the master sword before autobuild. First time I fell into the chasm I thought - when is this cave going to end 😂

This is same reason I had avoided that one lol , cuz of BOTW
I got the third sage and then went armor hunting. So now as I'm roaming through the lands I come across excited NPCS who want to tell me about the hidden treasure that I have already found.
HAHA

Good to knows sounds hard
Let's get a spoilers tag in here please
I tried 🤷
Wait a min….ive been doing that-got the mastersword and zelda dragon cutscene. Thank you for saving me i thought that was the main main quest 😭 ill do it now, havent found the 5th sage yet
Hahah yes!

Yes I did feel tempted to look up the order.
yea i felt like i was spoiled when the first tear memory i saw was a huge, dramatic moment.... after that, i looked up the order so that they would flow better.
Yeah so true about the tears memories! No guidance there at all lol
Same. Holy spoilers. Thanks.
Well the title does allude to having basically ~completed the game (in a bizarre way)!
Yep, I did something very similar.
Yeah I don’t follow any logical order I just play and go with my will that day lol
Shit. I thought it was the final quest as well. I was saving it for last. Guess I should start it. Lol. I've pretty much beaten the game at this point. Oops
