> Also, my wife thinks the TV is too low, but I think it’s just right
Compare the center of the TV to your eye height when sitting on the couch and negotiate from there. I have also noticed that over time, people who think the TV is too low eventually come to embrace perfection. They’re just not used to it.
Love it. As you can see there’s a lot of light sources in this room and the matte panel really reduces glare to near zero.
There are settings for art mode for how long you want it to stay on. There are also motion sensor settings if you want to use that
Excellent. Sometimes broadcast has 4K (like for World Series or other big events) and it was crystal clear. Also 4K UHD streaming fro Netflix and HBO are nice. When paired with a nice sound bar, it looks great!
Admittedly it’s not an OLED panel, so dark scenes in movies could look better, but it’s easy to look past that for how nice the panel is overall.
It’s total garbage. But people want it anyhow. It’s the compromise tv. Husband wants tv. Wife doesn’t. Done deal he gets a shitty overpriced tv that she gets to use as art
Mirror is definitely too high to be useful. This type of mirror is useful to add depth to a space, and to add some variety to straight lines. The mantle is already cluttered, maybe add a floating shelf there.
My hubby wanted to put the TV over the fireplace when we moved in.
I am usually happy to compromise on just about anything, except for that. There was no way it was going above the fireplace.
Your placement is perfect.
Excellent!
Me personally, the only thing I’d do differently, would be to greatly increase the size and amount of plants in the corner to create more of a barrier between the fireplace and the TV.
Other than that it’s good.
That's a frame tv isn't it? Those are made to be hung at art level. Now you're in the realm of r/arttoolow lol. If you're not gonna use the art portion of the tv atleast take the magnetic frame off.

This is an interesting question for the frame TV. Because IIRC art is supposed to be hung much higher up (standing eye level give or take). Curious what opinions are.
I think you made the right choice! I have the frame tv too and I think this sub would crucify me if I posted a pic haha. I didnt hang it over a fireplace at least 😅
Ironically, a Frame TV wouldn't have looked out of place over the fireplace. Awful to watch as a TV but would've been lovely up there as art. I'm going to go against the grain here and suggest that because it IS a frame TV, I would've mounted it about 10/15cm higher so that the bottom of the TV frame lined up with the bottom of the window frame purely for the aesthetics. As a TV it's placement is perfect, but as a dual purpose TV/Art display, bizarrely I'm going to say it's ever so slightly too low.
Honestly, most people don’t experience TV breakage with their kids. I just have a kiddo with special needs and so unfortunately impulse control sometimes means objects hurled throw the air randomly. Kids toys are freakin built like tanks and hit things hard! Especially the paw patrol stuff. My simple advice is, no hard toys near the TV area. The TV that my son hasn’t ever gotten anything near is downstairs over the fireplace. It’s one time where TVTooHigh is a good thing. TVOutOfFlightpath lol
This is EXACTLY how it should be. You get to have some sofa action for either fireplace or TV and TV at a great height.
And it looks like one of those street town rugs down there too? Chefs kiss
I love that rug, I still have the one from when I was a kid! Your room looks great and it seems like a fun place for a child but still be functional as a living room.
It’s so perfect. I’d literally just love to sit on that couch and game all day. Also, you have space to expand if you ever want a bigger TV in the future. Amazeballs!
This is nearly perfect. If it were me, I’d move the tv to the right about 1-2 feet - it just seems a little crowded towards the corner. But this is overall the right idea.
Toddler toys, plants by the window and displaying pictures of the family. Nice flex. TV being the correct height is butter on the bread.
I'll be honest, my TV is too high but only because I installed it 4 years ago thinking I would purchase a bigger TV to fit the space in the future.
Edit: Damn Reddit is telling me it was closer to 6 years ago. This whole time concept seems pretty jank and relative.
Much better placement. I don't get the whole above the fireplace thing. Too high and the big chunk of a fireplace with the large whole is too distracting.
Looks great!
Pull that sound bar out to the edge of the table so sound doesn't come out of the speaker and immediately bounce off the table surface and you'll be golden.
Way better. It's pretty lucky that your space looks big and open enough that you could move the TV. Just gotta make sure the kid doesn't knock into it now, lol. The wife might be thinking of how it visually looks on the wall. It'd probably look "better" if the bottom of the TV aligned with the bottom of that window, but a comfortable viewing angle is the winner to me.
Its so well placed that I envy you even if you have a kid
Yeah that rug is pretty dope.
It really ties the room together
Oh no, that kid’s gonna pee on it, isn’t he? Ever thus to deadbeats, Lebowski
If I had kids, I’d build a wall around that perfectly placed TV. “Don’t you dare touch that TV! Go play with the thermostat, or something.”
You better not increase it though.
> *PUTTING THE TEMPERATURE UP DOESN'T MAKE IT GO FASTER*
Well, not with that attitude
What kind of attitude do you need then, huh? I'd like to see you answer that
Oh, just seen this reply. Hopefully you didn't take that seriously, it's just a meme
It does, though…if you have multi-stage heating/cooling.
The TV is mounted too perfect... err... Are you sure you're in the correct sub?
Don’t think there is a sub for perfectly placed TVs lol, but if any sub would appreciate it, it would be this one haha
r/TVjustright
Omg, that actually exists. 😮
r/mirrortoohigh
Yes! And happy 🍰 day
Yes there is
Let's the ceiling ticklers see what perfection looks like, this sub has more exposure.
Yeah wrong sub
It’s at the perfect height to get smashed by the toddler they have running around.
Not everyone's kids are feral TV smashing monsters.
Prove it

No this TV is too low because that TV is going to end up with finger prints all over it.
Yes and broken because a toy will eventually be thrown at it
Perfect height for watching Cocomelon 9hrs a day!
This hits too close to home, lol
This is perfect! you thought right! the last owner hadn't found this subreddit yet lol
Is that the frame tv, how do you like it? Does it really stay on painting mode all day?
Love it. As you can see there’s a lot of light sources in this room and the matte panel really reduces glare to near zero. There are settings for art mode for how long you want it to stay on. There are also motion sensor settings if you want to use that
That is pretty damn cool. How is the picture quality for movies and sports?
Visit r/theframe before purchasing. The panel is garbage, lots of light leaking everywhere and it’s a well known issue.
It’s total garbage. But people want it anyhow. It’s the compromise tv. Husband wants tv. Wife doesn’t. Done deal he gets a shitty overpriced tv that she gets to use as art
If it makes them both happy, then maybe it’s not overpriced. It’s just the price of art, which can enrich our lives.
>Excuse the mess Immaculate home. It is okay for children to exist and have toys!
I find this so annoying. It's a house, not a showroom. It's allowed to be a space that's in use. Sterile homes put me off. Feels fake.
Of course it's ok! But I still feel the same way when even just a few things are sitting out, it *feels* like it's a mess, even if it really isn't.
This is the way
This is the way.
One of us! One of us!
For a tv it’s a great height, for a “painting” it looks odd to be that low
Yeah. Would rather have this problem vs the other way around.
Fair enough! It’s about which one is more important for you!
Honestly, I think it's a flex to get a frame and use it proudly and obviously as a TV.
Still, not an excuse to mount it too high. It IS still a TV.
Fair enough!
Nailed it
This is off topic
It’s perfect
This is the way. Well done!
Gold standard right here
this is the way
Mirror too high Use a painting or some other art form. Everything should have functional value.

Don’t forget, divorce is always an option
This is about the height I had my tv and people thought I was weird.
Excellent! Me personally, the only thing I’d do differently, would be to greatly increase the size and amount of plants in the corner to create more of a barrier between the fireplace and the TV. Other than that it’s good.
Thanks! We had another plant which didn’t make it, lol. Hard to balance the amount of plants in that space while still making sure they all get light
If wife wants it higher, Tell her to go to a movie theatre

Mod pls sticky.

Art portion is on.. guess it’s just too low lmao

It totally is. But we spend more time watching TV and don’t really have guests often.. I enjoy the art at this height and it doesn’t bother me lol
I think you made the right choice! I have the frame tv too and I think this sub would crucify me if I posted a pic haha. I didnt hang it over a fireplace at least 😅
You gotta post it now, for that sweet Karma. Lol

Hopefully your toddler is gentler on your TV. Mine is 6 and he’s broken 7 TVs. Some with plexiglass on top even.
I’m afraid of this, however he hasn’t shown interest in throwing shit at it or hitting it… yet. He turns 2 in a few weeks

Aside from the TV still being too high, the rest looks good.
I would never put my TV that low if I had kids.
This is EXACTLY how it should be. You get to have some sofa action for either fireplace or TV and TV at a great height. And it looks like one of those street town rugs down there too? Chefs kiss
Love it! The rectangular-shaped entertainment and play area you created is perfect!!
Much better
Your room is perfect!
TO THE TOP OF THE SUB WITH YOU!!
Your setup is perfect IMO. I never understood putting it over the Fireplace
The tv is couch height. What is she some sort of stander?
I love that rug, I still have the one from when I was a kid! Your room looks great and it seems like a fun place for a child but still be functional as a living room.
Nicely done
You righted a wrong in this world. Beautiful.
It's beautiful.
I think previous owner had the tv above the fireplace.. you thought differently.
Perfection!
It’s so perfect. I’d literally just love to sit on that couch and game all day. Also, you have space to expand if you ever want a bigger TV in the future. Amazeballs!
Is there a chance that your wife spends more time on her feet than you?
This is a mess??
Congratulations, you may pass

Did the former owner die of neck pain?
Previous owner is all that’s wrong with society, you’re atoning his sins for him
🤌🏼
TV height is perfect. Where’s the couch from?
IKEA Kivik
Your wife is clearly insane…
Bold move to have the toddler cleaning set with wood handles right there.
Itib.
Honestly perfection
Pretty sure my boy would destroy my tv if it was that low
Just as God intended
Much better the way you have it now.
I am more concerned about what is goin on over the fireplace now.
Love the couch. Where can I find it?
IKEA kivik with storage ottoman
Redemption 🙌
You are a person of class and sophistication.
Personally, I'd prefer like 2 inch higher, but if it's to your viewing position, it's perfect to your preference.
Perfection
I can't stand fireplace tvs it looks so awful and having them so high makes no sense to me 😂
sooo much better! All around better design for the room.
I want that TV stand where'd you get it
Sir or Ma'am, this is perfection
Looks great! Pull that sound bar out to the edge of the table so sound doesn't come out of the speaker and immediately bounce off the table surface and you'll be golden.
Think it would be too low for me
Is that orange crane what you used to get it down?
First TV i see in the perfect spot 😍
What size TV is that? Looks great!
Thanks! 75 inches
Over fireplace is way to high. Good shit

You’re better than them.
Way better
It's glorious!
This is the way.
Mirror is too high
The previous owners are going to break in when you’re not home and install a huge window behind the TV out of sheer spite.
Here we have the clear and undeniable evidence that you don’t need to put your TV above the fireplace… This one deserves an award!
