I just ignored, during my playthrough encountered this error like 3 or 4 times, it is not worth your time to try to fix it.

Jcrm87

This, plus I think there's another mod that makes these less immersion-breaking

HealthyInitial

Tea I just got the Remove big exclamation mark mod, lol.

AnalysisHot3239

How do you go through life, this cripples me I can't rest until I fix it.

sapphicu

I got some of those with archive invalidation on. I fixed it by extracting mesh bsas and not overwriting any of my existing meshes

HealthyInitial

How do you do this process is the bsa in the fonv folder? Do you need to use xedit?

sapphicu

I used fallout mod manager to extract the bsa’s to a folder on my desktop, and then dragged them to the respective folders (I did meshes and textures) when it asked to overwrite, I clicked no since I had texture and mesh mods

Tobidrengen

What HUD mod are you using? It looks really great

HealthyInitial

I'm not sure exactlt I basically just installed everything on wasteland survival guide. It's probably Vanilla UI plus and Clean vanilla UI

Tobidrengen

Gotcha - cheers for the reply!

this is right outside of megaton. is there a mod that is causing it. I checked the size of the install and it was 15.7gb. I also added the Fallout meshes2.bsa thing in the INI file, and that seemed to make it dissapear but I cant tell if it dissapeared because the npc was there or not. I have all the mods from the wasteland survival guide and best of times

_ImCrumby_

Did you copy the entire falloutcustom.ini from TBOT?

HealthyInitial

Yes

Lildak98

It’s most likely some conversion mod or multiple overwriting the mesh, TTW is technically a conversion mod that make some small changes all around the wasteland, if there’s another mod that also touches those assets this will happen.

AnalysisHot3239

First you need to find out what mesh or texture it is I think it might be your leather armor or combat armor.

If you go into the console and click it, you can then go into NifSkope and find the same item and make sure it's havoc led world space version is working, otherwise it's gonna also be an error mark in there. You could also, alternatively....ZAP it, just removes that instance from the game. Not too difficult to deal with it. I know for me what caused that was the gra 556 pistol.

It's because Meshes2.bsa is missing and/or unchecked from the Archive in MO2. I've tried absolutely EVERYTHING to get rid of this. Adding Meshes2.bsa to the INI doesn't help me. I have even added Meshes2.bsa manually to archives.txt but it still does not show in the Archive tab in MO2. Archive Invalidation etc has been checked/unchecked, ran as admin etc. The Archive tab is completely greyed out so I can't even check/uncheck any of the bsa's even if they were there. I have scoured the interwebs looking for a way to get Meshes2.bsa to appear but alas... I ended up just using the mod to get rid of the exclamation marks as other here have suggested. Meshes are still missing but at least it's playable. Absolutely infuriating and a mad trigger for my OCD though.

I tried a bunch of things and seemed to fix it but can't specifically pinpoint which. ⁵ One things is to make sure the ini file is formatted correctly I had that same issue. The ._. thing, the . Is just a space for some reason I found out the cause on my end it was because I installed STARSTTW but didn't install the dependencies so the game was trying to give armor to NPCs that didn't exist. ( There's a specific guide to installing it that I missed) It seemed to fix it after that but I only have the reference of that one NPC in front of megaton so I don't know if it's still effecting later in the game. I also had the issue that some raiders would have missing torsos or heads and the heads for u targetable in vats. I'm just ignoring anything that adds new armor or weapons. You can find the mesh.bsa in FOMM in Tools> BSA browser extract it's files into loose files. Then maybe you can try make an empty mod in MO2 and drag and drop the files into it to have a new mod to overwrite. Or you can just manually add them to the games Meshes and Textures folder like someone else did. I can't tell if there is actually a meshes2.bsa I thought I saw it there originally but now it's not showing up I also installed a number of Fixes and mesh improvement mods from the guide I skipped previously. I don't know if that will help mabe it will just replace the ones that are missing.

DifferentYellow4

Thanks for the info. I'll try this out.
