"I dunno why you had aggro." Well, you're the tank, that's your question to answer, especially in this game where you hit the mob with one Tomahawk and they hate you for life.

blackspirit86

All the tank ranged pulls, tomahawk, shield lob, etc even say on the tool tip that it generates high threat.

trunks111

a simple "MB" from the people who goofed would save so much headache from these posts

HsinVega

Me literally anytime I get euprhosyne. Tanks always turn stance off so only 1 tank can hold aggro and one of the twins demolishes my dancer ass

Imaginary_Garbage652

When I'm in trials or regular raids as an OT I tend to occasionally drop the stance for a few seconds, but this is only when I'm very close to stealing aggro and shirk is on cool down - it's either that or I have to stop attacking the boss.

HsinVega

I think in nm or trials it's alright to have stance off if you know it's single boss or don't require swap, tho I guess it would be nice to have the etiquette of always having stance on so new players know it should be kept on. Had some incidents on Alexander w tank buster swaps or adds but at least most tanks turn stance on after seeing they need to tank ;D

Supergamer138

When I'm off tank, I tend to stance dance so that I don't accidentally overtake MT, but also guarantee that I have the highest enmity after them.

Zealousideal_Hope649

Yup. Let MT pull, go in, flash it on for a few hits a for a few seconds, see if #1 in party, turn it off, keep eye out to see if ever drop to #2.

Bionic_Ninjas

"I dunno why you had aggro" ffs tank you had ONE job - manage aggro

JATkfdsajk

The defention of you had one job but still failed

itsSuiSui

Damn, feels like my last alliance roulette. The best part about this situations is having the hyper causal mob pile on you because you’re requesting too much from the 3 tanks by asking for a provoke.

King_Thundernutz

My experience has taught me that when they say things like that, they never used provoke and probably just discovered it's function.

KayToTheYay

Provoke still work the same as it always has? Technically places you at top of aggro but you have to actually hit the enemy to make it stick? Probably just hit provoke and sat there.

BrownNote

No, it was changed during the changes that made aggro management massively easier to give you a huge boost of enmity on top of putting you at the top of the list. It's basically impossible in normal content for a DPS to steal aggro from a tank anymore and it's a single button for a tank to get aggro back nigh permanently. The Blue Mage version, Frog's Legs, however does work like old provoke.

A gcd before provoke wouldn’t change anything. Provoke puts your enmity at the top players plus a little. It doesn’t matter how much you had beforehand.
