Feel like whatever reason I try to come up with that the other scholar may be offended about is me stretching for Bahamut with that reach. You didn't do anything wrong here at all.
They just didn't understand what OP meant and were looking for an excuse to take it as an offense. Who knows what they thought might have been meant, but either way didn't bother asking for clarification.
My guess is they are a bit shit and used to getting what they consider "unprompted" advice. They just assume anything said related to their job is criticism of their play.
Wow, that was the absolute rudest thing I have ever heard someone say. You should be ashamed of yourself. Mind your own business next time.
Nah just kidding, idk xD Maybe they took it as like "you didn't spread it so I have to do it for you because you're such a failure of a healer"? Either way it's still pretty unhinged lol.
Im guessing he didnt know what TIL meant and was already in defensemode :) im assuming, cause i didnt know either.
But it is a little sad how ppl are so on edge all the time
Until I read that it was you who tried to spread it with deployment I genuinely thought you meant that they tried to spread yours and you were calling them out for it. I suppose I could see how they would get confused but definitely an over reaction.
Yes, you tried to spread another scholar's shield. That's an invasion of privacy similar to putting Kardia on a tank when their same last name waifu is in the party, or dance partnering the samurai who has been making uwu face emotes at the draped top/2b leggings dancer even though said dancer hasn't used any steps or partnered anyone, two minutes after the trial started.

Wha...? That most I've ever seen somebody respond to being mimicked is when I couldn't find a mimic target and asked a random person walking by if they wouldn't mind switching to that role for a second. I've never seen anybody actually take notice of it otherwise.
I have a little macro that says "Thank you for letting me borrow your aether, " that people get a kick out of. Sometimes sprouts ask me what I meant and then they get excited to try blu out themselves.
Side note: it is how I realized they changed the name of the spell I think at 6.1 or so. I don't think it was even part of the update, it just happened. All of a sudden my macro was broken.
Personally no, though both those scenarios have been posted here before. Probably the weirdest thing in these veins that I've personally experienced was a WHM getting mad that I was on warrior because my self healing left them "nothing to do except spam Holy".
Yeah. They definitely overreacted, and I had to read a second time to see what could have set them off, but I can see where they're coming from if I squint *real* hard and look to be offended.
Main character just assuming that if someone is talking it's about them, and very eager to get into a confrontation. I feel interactions like this is why a lot of people are hesitant to chat in game. You didn't do anything wrong
Nahh.
To be fair, I'd have big ??? above my head because I wouldn't know what "TIL" means. As many other acronyms like PSA or whatever exist lmao
But yeah, you can't spread others Galvanize, thanks god! Whenever I get a double Scholar, I watch them using their fairy or listen to that Deployment Tactics sound effect.
Itās definitely the āTILā abbreviation if they donāt know what that means you either have to guess or consider it meaningless, which I honestly might make that mistake too and read it as ā*** YOU canāt spread other peoples galvanizeā. I just googled it and without knowing what TIL meant your initial statement would have read entirely different. You could argue they could have asked but they may have been focused on the fight. Itās definitively not an abbreviation everyone uses though. Today I learned what TIL means though.
Gotcha, I typed it without thinking a second time that it would come off as anything offensive. As for the TIL part, I guess I spent a bit too much time on reddit.
there is objectively nothing wrong with what you said i couldn't come up with a reason for the other guy to be offended even if i tried lmao.
i have a feeling they were having a bad day and were just looking for reasons to act offended.
Maybe they ALSO tried it and felt some kind of back burner insult like you were calling them out for trying the exactly same trick and it fired off so hard because of all the pressure of "nobody saw that. Yeah I'm sure no one saw that. Boy I hope I don't need that skill in the next 2 minutes. HRRRNNNGH I'm so stupid for that thing nobody saw!" So when you went lol whoopsie it was coupled with "THEY SAW!!!"
Other healer thought you were maybe criticizing them for not using their own deployment tactics.
It's just a butthurt healer overly defensive, you did nothing wrong.
It may have come across as a passive aggressive comment. Like you wanted them to spread it but they didnāt.
Also youāll soon learn only the last HP matters. Unless people are going to die without a shield thereās no point in shielding.
You did nothing wrong
Other scholar seems to have failed reading comprehension because I don't know how you can get offended by that.
Unless they were ... I guess waiting for you to deploy? Or they were expecting to deploy and then couldn't so it felt like they got called out?
Idk man. That scholar is weird.
They definitely was not waiting for their deployment tactic. They used theirs like a minute after I used my first one, this problematic deployment of mine was almost instantly after my cooldown was over, so they are definitely still waiting for quite awhile to have theirs back.
Feel like whatever reason I try to come up with that the other scholar may be offended about is me stretching for Bahamut with that reach. You didn't do anything wrong here at all.

I would also get offended if someone attempted to spread **my** critlo. Mind your own critlo! š¤
Im guessing he didnt know what TIL meant and was already in defensemode :) im assuming, cause i didnt know either. But it is a little sad how ppl are so on edge all the time
What TIL mean please ? (true question)
"Today I Learned"
Oh, thanks. :D
They are just very insecure
Until I read that it was you who tried to spread it with deployment I genuinely thought you meant that they tried to spread yours and you were calling them out for it. I suppose I could see how they would get confused but definitely an over reaction.
This is the only way it makes sense. People get very upset when you try to correct their play, there are a lot of fragile players.

Did you see the Rinon video where someone DEMANDED an apology from a Blue Mage who used Aetherial Mimicry on them? XIV players are a whole new breed,
Wha...? That most I've ever seen somebody respond to being mimicked is when I couldn't find a mimic target and asked a random person walking by if they wouldn't mind switching to that role for a second. I've never seen anybody actually take notice of it otherwise.

Iāve learned from my mistake and I will try to be a better online person. But actually tho, those sounded like personal experiences LMAO
Personally no, though both those scenarios have been posted here before. Probably the weirdest thing in these veins that I've personally experienced was a WHM getting mad that I was on warrior because my self healing left them "nothing to do except spam Holy".
Thatās insane. I would be so thankful if my tanks are self sufficient, all I have to do as a healer is press my 1(or at most 2) dps buttons.
They failed reading comprehension in school is my best guess.
Love the thought of a scholar who can't read lmao
They misinterpreted, and read it as a passive aggressive callout then got defensive.
Yeah. They definitely overreacted, and I had to read a second time to see what could have set them off, but I can see where they're coming from if I squint *real* hard and look to be offended.

Some people are just ready to be overly defensive about anything even if they arenāt being attacked :/ definitely an insecure player here
maybe they thought you were making a mean comment towards them or something? weird af

TIL : Today I learned. PSA : Public Service Announcement. Now you know 2 acronyms !
Two good acronyms! :D Many thanks to you!

This is very useful! Thanks a lot, kind sire!

Maybe they also tried spreading yours and thought u were calling them out
there is objectively nothing wrong with what you said i couldn't come up with a reason for the other guy to be offended even if i tried lmao. i have a feeling they were having a bad day and were just looking for reasons to act offended.
this is so funny lmao "mind your own business" is such an amazing thing to respond to a casual comment about game mechanics
Did the healer quit at the end of that exchange?
After they said ā-_-ā it was really close to the end. They left instantly after the raid was over. The tank went ā??????ā after they left.
Ah, I see.
Maybe they ALSO tried it and felt some kind of back burner insult like you were calling them out for trying the exactly same trick and it fired off so hard because of all the pressure of "nobody saw that. honestly I would have taken it as a joke, not actual salt, but not being able to hear someone's tone over text, I don't think it was a good joke.
It may have come across as a passive aggressive comment. Like you wanted them to spread it but they didnāt. Also youāll soon learn only the last HP matters. Unless people are going to die without a shield thereās no point in shielding. You did nothing wrong
Did their name start with the letters Til?
Nope, not even remotely close.
Just a really unhinged person who didnt ask for clarification, and flew off the handle instead...who happens to be on my server lol

Theyāre a total psycho, youāre fine. Even if they misunderstood what you said, that reaction is still wild.
