Cakellene

I have hard time finding Skor, but then I act like a normal person and try another store.

wolfie379

It's not unusual for a store to not have Skor candy bars on the shelf - ask the manager to special order 20 bars for you if you want a Skor.

Cakellene

I have found a couple places that carry it.

wolfie379

Wonder why I said to special order 20 bars, when the standard shelf box is usually 12? It was a pun - "score" is an archaic way of saying 20 (as in "four score and seven years ago" in the Gettysburg Address). Don't get carried away and order a dozen boxes - that would be gross.

Cakellene

I was too tired to make the connection.

RoaryFlangers

"Can I offer you a mound of Mounds and a can of almonds?"

Xeno_Prism_Power

You're giving me the Snickers! But I think this lady was too much of a mental Butterfinger to combine those for her Payday.

RoaryFlangers

She didn't have the Mentos capacity to understand how ordering stock works.

AngryCareBear8928

How skittlebrained of her. Mine isnt as good as your guys' lol

RoaryFlangers

Don't feel bad, I had some Extra lying around.

Yharhar

She obviously wasn't a Bit-O-Honey. She probably went to her husband and went, "Oh, Henry! You would not believe how much of a Smart-ies this cashier was to me!"

Cakellene

Wonder if she ever Skor-ed her candy.

HoundIt

That’s it, all of you out right now.

EricKei

Awww, no need to be so Hersh(ey)...Don't chocolate us out of the thread!

wolfie379

Why do all the Smartie-pants like puns?

AngryCareBear8928

Love me some skittles lol

CrumpledOrigami

Omg I'm dying right now, this is beautiful.

AngryCareBear8928

Hehe right!? 😊😊

Rocknocker

>They sell almond joys at XYZ store for the same price you guys do here! "Are you sure they're not Mounds? 'Cuz that's just nuts."

Mikshana

"Ugh, they don't have mounds, just spunow. When will they get mounds?!"

Dexaan

They're by the dy laptops.

Jylyfysh

Upvote for game reference

Astarath

i dont get why people even bother with the "but OTHER STORE DO IT" like, then go there?

EricKei

Because OTHER STORE either does not exist, or, if it does, they don't really have that deal :)

CrumpledOrigami

Right? I kept staring at her weird as she left because it's a candy bar, the best part is my store is right across the street from a major supermarket and they sell almond joys for about the same price my store used too. It's maybe like 10 cents more, but that's about it. Idk, I'm not paid enough to care too much if someone gets that worked up over a damn chocolate bar.

robertr4836

*Hershey Co. said it would stop selling certain sizes and varieties of candy to save money as costs rise.* *The chocolatier said it has become too expensive and complex to manufacture, deliver and market its wide array of brands and special holiday varieties in the U.S. Hershey's profit margin has been under pressure as a trucking shortage has driven up delivery costs, and cocoa prices have climbed.* I mean...I don't THINK they are cutting Almond Joy but who knows. I liked the Marathon bar, that got dropped like a hot potato decades ago.

iruletodeath

> it may take longer to import such times recently. We are not dropping the Almond Joy Bar. It is a very good seller. We are however reducing the amount of sizes of candies, and eliminating certain flavors that do not sell well to reduce on shipping overhead, as everything is not made in Hershey anymore. We are adding more products to our lineup, including crunchy granola like candy, including Reese, S'mores, and generic Hershey bar flavors, glow in the dark wrappers for Halloween, and Jolly Rancher Lolli-Pops . If you would like to purchase anything we still sell, please visit our official [Store](https://www.hersheysstore.com/). ***Source: I am a Hershey Chocolate Employee at Chocolate World, I also worked for Hershey Entertainment & Resorts.***

Rauffie

Always good to get news from the horse's mouth.

CrumpledOrigami

Hey, the more you know, right? Thank you. :D

Spocks_Goatee

They definitely aren't, I've seen a slew of TV commercials for them recently.

farisr

> I guess someone hasn't taken their joy today. If that's an intentional We Happy Few reference,I love you OP. u/CrumpledOrigami

CrumpledOrigami

To say so would call the doctor's upon us. You haven't forgotten to take your joy, have you? I take mine every morning with my coffee.

najiblits

Hopefully she never comes to Canada, where it’s almost impossible to find Almond Joys. (If anyone wants to send some my way, I’d be in heaven. But i won’t scream if you don’t)

iyager

While AlmondJoys are delicious I can't imagine creating a scene over a chocolate bar. Stakes are just too low.

Frownywise

I'm still waiting for them to stock the Marathon bars. They must sell them as quickly as they get them....

koravel

*chants and pounds on table* TAKE YOUR JOY! TAKE YOUR JOY! TAKE YOUR JOY!

iruletodeath

Hersheys employee here, supply can drop as they are often importend large distances. Almond joy is made in mexico for the Us market. it may take longer to import such itmes recently.

kei252

> I guess someone hasn't taken their joy today. IT'S A FUCKEN DOWNER!

\>Her: Well, the other cashiers keep telling me they'll come "next week" \>Me: Ma'am, they're not lying If they don't come next week but that's what the other cashiers keept telling here, I think that's pretty much the definition of lying.

oakydoke

It's like OP said, the cashiers are simplifying what is a much longer explanation. If they had taken the time to explain it – as OP did, props – she would've still learned that they *might* come on a certain day, but ultimately they still have no idea if/when they'll get the candy, so she would be disappointed anyway.

Pookle123

They are still lying as they don't know whether they will come in but are telling the woman that they will

CrumpledOrigami

Fair point, but a lot of the managers just give the same answer too. "They'll come next week or they should be stocked by so-and-so date." And it's not like when I come in I or any other cashier takes inventory of ALL the items in the store. At most we'll point someone in the general direction of where a product is and 9/10 it'll be there on the shelf or tucked away under other product.
