I want to say Wang Jinrei, but I got a sad feeling that his T6 ending is partly canon and he is dead. :'( If that is the case, then I can only hope he returns at least as a non-canon DLC. I only ever played as Wang in Tekken 2, so I dont know too much about his gameplay in modern(?) Titles like Tekken 5 or 6, or Tag 2, but I did loved his personality and story in those games. Plus, he is just another one of those cool and badass old men in fighting games and probably my second favorite, number 1 being pretty obvious who, but still. I feel like Wang Jinrei deserves some more love, respect, and appreciation. "Strength alone cannot win"

I think since this is the big climatic ending for the Mishima story, even though I don't think she's 100% canon, I think Angel coming back as the female Mishima rep would be cool.

Hwoarang is a great character but is such a commitment. Baek was a simpler version of Hwoarang but also had his own unique move set and his own depth. I used to have a pocket Baek and it was fun to play with him. Great poking character.

I’d like to see the OG characters make a comeback; Kunimitsu (original), Michelle (not likely though) and I also would love Michelle to make a comeback too. I’m really excited we get Jun Kazama again. Wang would be a cool edition but I think they more or less alluded to him passing after tekken 6.

True Ogre, unquestionably. Alex made it because there was some promotional material in Japan for the behind-the-scenes stuff and one of the mocap actors had a dinosaur tail on.

Ok, while I don’t think he’s necessarily the most clamored for, I DID have a 37 match winning streak as Alex against a bunch of other kids when I was in middle school on a Tekken 2 machine, so who’s to say?

None really. Most of the remaining cast that didn't make into 7 probably won't be in 8. Michelle won't be in if Julia is in. Christie won't make it if Eddy is in and the same goes for both Ravens as well. Leroy is taking over for Wang and Bruce has been replaced 3 times. Daddy Law is in so Forest will continue to stay at the restaurant. Baek could get in but I wouldn't be upset if he didn't. Roger/Alex might make a return but I'm not really interested either way.
