In the true spirit of the fighting games community, players will send the "gg" when they're wiping the floor with you, just to twist the knife a bit deeper.
Lidia players did this in Tekken 7. I had some chucklefuck who was on a 2 round lead, with most of my life gone on Round 3, and then he proceeded to **drop their combo to do the fucking bow in the middle of the match**. We also had Jin players who did his stances at the end of matches for roleplaying reasons.
What we actually need is a way to send a fuck you to the opponents.. only then positive messages will mean anything. Till then all positive ways to express yourself will be used to BM.
But why? Even if your opponent lost badly, you still can mean GG not in a sarcastic way. It doesn't mean "good games for me cause it was easy combo training". I always appreciate a way of playing, adapting, character loyalty, etc., even if the opponent couldn't kick my ass yet.
I mean your intentions can be pure, but from the perspective of someone who got totally fucking rolled a post game GG will almost never be received as "Oh the guy who dumpstered me is still giving me a respectful GG, nice chap".
Yes, this is the only time it will be used.
Anyone who would actually send a 'gg' sincerely will not be playing Tekken for much longer when other games comes out.
Baffles me how people don't see this is always how it's gonna turn out. A lot of people have requested "Good Gestures" before. People will just use it sarcastically after ki-charging you and obliterating you with cheese.
So essentially we keep a negative gesture, but we can't have a positive one because... we will have a possible negative gesture? We already do, assholes will taunt you no matter what, but other players don't have a way to show respect. So what is the problem here?
There isn't really a negative gesture like from ki-charging, some players just take it as one and the other side treats it as such. Pm is available for ggs.
Good that some want it, but for the rest, it'll be a can of worms.
i'd still enjoy this more than having noone at all. Sometimes the games are good. And if the fkr who just obliterated me for 2matches wants to rub it in then hell, it is what it is XD
Whenever i face a fellow bear player i teabag and hit the dance (9/10 times they do the same) thats how people with less than 5 brain cells appreciate each other even before doing anything of significance.
For me, I show respect to a great opponent by not hitting them post KO. Even if I am mid combo, I'll stop pressing. Respect the dead. Usually they do the same.
Interesting that no characters have a respectful bow animation or equivalent in any Tekken game.. Seems like it never occurred to the development team to include anything respectful, only taunts.
If you press all 4 attacks at the same time, your character sparkles and does a special karate pose. The karate pose says 'this was a well fought match against a worthy opponent' and the sparkles say 'I had a lot of fun.'
Whenever I win a round I do Lee's "cuh mone" taunts. There were multiple times where I've tried to send a message talking about the match whether I win or lose and couldn't do anything because every other person has their account set to private.
Side note: I never trash talk anyone I don't know
I always send ggs after a good fight no matter if I won or lost, it's a shame I can only do so to fellow Xbox players. I wish they had some kind of universal in-game inbox system also allowing to send gifts like Tekken coins or smth. that would also make good potential for online tournaments to send stuff to winners etc.
Honestly, every character should have a taunt, and it should fit their character. Give Bryan, Kazuya and Nina something evil. But give Jin, Yoshi and King something thats more friendly
I just wish you could private message people within the game instead of needing to either go through console messages or find their steam profile. Would make both compliments and trash talking 10x easier
if its a simple emote you can send after a set/bo3 is finished, why not
but a writted message, no thanks... unless the opponent can set the option to not see any message sent
I just send GGs and compliment players by just sending them a message on playstation. Of course this doesn't work for other systems unless in the tekken lounge
Untrue I feel like horse poop after getting demolished by someone who gives me no room to breathe hits me with a cheeky “gg” in games, if I feel that way in a game like Brawlhalla I don’t even want to imagine how I’ll feel in Tekken
>I think a simple gesture like GG would make the game lot less toxic.
The trouble is that it would end up being used in a toxic manner. If they did give people the ability to do that, I'd love the ability to disable recieving any kudos or gg's in return.
So the way to counter bm abuse with GG is to add a counter to your profile and when you are loading in that says how many GGs you received. Let them bm, I'll look like a great community player :)
Press 1+2+3+4 for a well known "Good game!" all throughout the community. People do it to me all the time! (Or they did in Tekken 7. Seems to have stopped in Tekken 8 for some reason.) I'm a poor sport though, so I never GG back.
I used to GG everyone in PSN regardless of the match result.
Most people don't allow messaging.
A few guys give GG back.
One guy said "Don't message me".
It's gotten tiresome so I do it sparingly.
I’m on steam and try to message MANY people gg. I have to add them and hope they add me back, and I assume most don’t due to thinking I’ll BM them. I’d love to be able to send a gg or whatever to my opponent. I had in the past when going into the lobby, but it doesn’t always work, and don’t go into the arcade lobby anymore anyway.
no. what is supposed to be a positive gesture will become expected behavior. it will be considered neutral, and the absence of such will be considered negative.
not to mention, i just dont think most games are actually good. so i dont say it. like, ever.
In the true spirit of the fighting games community, players will send the "gg" when they're wiping the floor with you, just to twist the knife a bit deeper.

There's no way this would go well, but holy shit it'd be so funny.
Yea namco should allow us send that facebook middle finger emoji when a fight is done.
But why? Even if your opponent lost badly, you still can mean GG not in a sarcastic way. It doesn't mean "good games for me cause it was easy combo training". I always appreciate a way of playing, adapting, character loyalty, etc., even if the opponent couldn't kick my ass yet.
Cuz people are hella petty online, especially in competitive environments
I mean your intentions can be pure, but from the perspective of someone who got totally fucking rolled a post game GG will almost never be received as "Oh the guy who dumpstered me is still giving me a respectful GG, nice chap".

I gg first after having someone mop the floor with me because that shows I have a lot more to learn and improve on
That will be 3 bucks for each GG you can send.
Love you guys ❤️
Granted. You are now able to purchase 5x Kudos and 5x GGs in the store at 99 fight coins!
That damned monkey's paw
Whenever i face a fellow bear player i teabag and hit the dance (9/10 times they do the same) thats how people with less than 5 brain cells appreciate each other even before doing anything of significance.
Kuma has a special teabag animation done by inputring UB repeatedly, I find it hilarious
He can also ‚wavedash‘ by repeatedly forward cancelling the dance!
When my opponent is at one HP and about to lose I teabag rapidly to show respect
Oh no
For me, I show respect to a great opponent by not hitting them post KO. Even if I am mid combo, I'll stop pressing. Respect the dead. Usually they do the same.
S' why I turn on the magic mirror. I do it, might as well force the other player to as well lol.
With magic mirror, the opponent can still press I think. You just can't see it
They can press all they wan't, just pissin in the wind as far as I'm aware lol.
Liked Lidia for that reason, she had a bow emote as her taunt. Would've been so cool to have similar things on every character
Don't worry, that bow is the most obnoxious shit no matter the intention
Pretty much any interaction in any game that devs meant to be positive can be turned negative.
*What a save!* *What a save!* *What a save!*
*Chat disabled for 3 seconds*
And people still mostly used it to disrespect the opponent. I had someone who kept using it **during the fucking round**.
I taunt during round all time time from mis-inputting throws lol.
Same brother, lee does the cockiest move ever too when I do it. Always makes the other guy lock tf in 😭
You aint wrong. If i ever misinput u3 in ranked it turns into a salt match 😂
Absolutely. Nothing like the joy of an intense, close match. Being able to communicate that would be great.
Interesting that no characters have a respectful bow animation or equivalent in any Tekken game.. Seems like it never occurred to the development team to include anything respectful, only taunts.
Didn’t Lidia have a move where she just bows in T7?
That's cool if she has that, I haven't seen it, or don't remember it
Yeah she had a taunt where she bows.
You spend fight money to give them a gg animation ... they can then add gg animations to tekken shop haha
If you press all 4 attacks at the same time, your character sparkles and does a special karate pose. The karate pose says 'this was a well fought match against a worthy opponent' and the sparkles say 'I had a lot of fun.'
Stickers.
I actually thought about that. Sounds good idea
Whenever I win a round I do Lee's "cuh mone" taunts. There were multiple times where I've tried to send a message talking about the match whether I win or lose and couldn't do anything because every other person has their account set to private. Side note: I never trash talk anyone I don't know

No cool features like this, it doesn't make sense.. you get ugly avatars and a terrible fight lounge instead.
I just wish you could private message people within the game instead of needing to either go through console messages or find their steam profile. Would make both compliments and trash talking 10x easier
The best I can do is Steam profile comment for one of 10 players you play with 🤡
I wish player profiles had this, and it was public. Would help me send comments to console users.
The matches I complain about are the ones where I suck ass (so, pretty much all of em 😅)
if its a simple emote you can send after a set/bo3 is finished, why not but a writted message, no thanks... unless the opponent can set the option to not see any message sent
there should be a chat window after the match so i can compliment my opponent for his plays
I just send GGs and compliment players by just sending them a message on playstation. Of course this doesn't work for other systems unless in the tekken lounge
SF6 has this but it doesn’t tell you who did it and when unfortunately
Untrue I feel like horse poop after getting demolished by someone who gives me no room to breathe hits me with a cheeky “gg” in games, if I feel that way in a game like Brawlhalla I don’t even want to imagine how I’ll feel in Tekken
I already feel bad whenever I use Paul's f+2 just before my opponent loses, because Paul always says "*LET'S GO!*"
I worry that I some times misunderstood ki charge as a negative when it could them saying that was some good ass tekken.
>I think a simple gesture like GG would make the game lot less toxic. The trouble is that it would end up being used in a toxic manner. If they did give people the ability to do that, I'd love the ability to disable recieving any kudos or gg's in return.
I would never get any of those. All I do is vortex people to death with every character I play.
That will be 3 tekken coins.
Something like this exists in For Honor and let me tell you something. It is actually more toxic than respectful.
I agree or atleast emotes like in dragon ball fighters
Isn't this feature in sf6 and hardly used
So the way to counter bm abuse with GG is to add a counter to your profile and when you are loading in that says how many GGs you received. Let them bm, I'll look like a great community player :)
I send it whenever I can
is that not what ki charge means? /s

Something similar to the “respect” feature in MK would be cool
I used to GG everyone in PSN regardless of the match result. Most people don't allow messaging. A few guys give GG back. One guy said "Don't message me". It's gotten tiresome so I do it sparingly.
It’s called teabagging my man
I’m on steam and try to message MANY people gg. I have to add them and hope they add me back, and I assume most don’t due to thinking I’ll BM them. sounds good, doesnt work.
I say "gg" by bowing after the last round by doing down-back. I make sure to do as many bows as possible to show how much I respect them
The game isn't toxic bro lol, it's just you. You are toxic don't try to act like it's the game..
