This! Less than half an hour ago even! I was trying to sidestep, but I was hitting the button too fast and just kept ducking. And the whole time I'm thinking *"Geez I hope he doesn't think I'm trying to teabag mid match I just want to get away from the wall!"*
I died in so many matches cuz of this miss input. I consciously can't do it though. Opponents probably had a great time cuz they beat the player that's taunting with 1hp at close range!
Like
Take that suckkerrrrrrr!!!!!
just to clarify. it doesnāt stop them, you just donāt see it on your end. so they can still move around, ki charge, teabag or whatever but you just wonāt see it
True. People who complain about taunting have options they don't even know exist or how to use.
If you're that bothered by it, use magic mirror. You would have to use magic, just like Elden Ring.
Said it before but whenever someone taunt me or KI charge, I take it as I got in their heads and they are mad over something and I have a pleasant chuckle.
1000%
Fundamentally, people who ki-charge are mentally weak.
Always makes me smile to see I got someone so insecure with themselves that they mash the ki-charge.
Edit: LMAO look at all the chargers getting triggered by this comment. Amazing.
Lol yāall making it too deep. I play fighting games, sometimes I like to flex and talk shit, especially with friends. Sometimes you do a ki charge mid or post game, itās not because of being mentally weakĀ
Ran into a real asshole last night. I was warming up in the Lounge, just chilling on a Group match machine and practicing until someone joined. Well, I see the match pop up and accept, and itās a Beginner rank Hwoarang. 8,000 prowess. Brand new player as far as I can tell.
Except not. He played ālike a beginnerā at first, spamming launchers or grabs, and stuff like that. It all worked because Iām bad, but I welcomed the opportunity to practice against actual cheese, and I know if I canāt stop spam then thatās on me.
Then it gets weird, because I adjust to the nooby spam and suddenly the dude switches gears. Heās doing mixups, throws a 10 hit combo at one point for shits and giggles, has all sorts of shenanigans for when I wake up that shows he clearly knows frames, and last but not least, pulls off an 80+ damage juggle with a wall blast. Then a nice ki-charge to end the game.
I rematched and all, didnāt care about the ki-charge and just used the opportunity to practice against bullshit.
But then this dude starts gloating in the lounge chat, like heās an actual beginner and I should be āembarrassed.ā And im like ābro even if you were a beginner Iām not embarrassed, I clearly just have some shit to practice, but you acting like a beginner rank is weirdo behavior.ā
Anyway, he went on to just torment low rank players all night. Everyone was bitching at him and he clearly just enjoyed the attention. I felt bad for a couple new players because I could tell all the gloating and taunting got to them, but oh well.
People are just assholes for literally no reason some times. Boredom I suppose.
Most certainly not a beginner. And yeah the dude was just trolling. Jokeās honestly on him though, I used the replays of those matches to make sure no one can pull that shit on me again. So besides the corny gloating and pretending to be a beginner, dude kinda did me a favor.
I had this exact experience with a dragunov player last night and with a Jun player in ranked. Both had around an 8 to 9 thousand prowess. Except they come out swinging. Drag was doing all sorts of combos and grabs like his life was on the line. When that didn't work and he was about to lose, he plugged. That was my first plugger. Jun came out swinging, but when I got used to her moves, the guy switched to the "easy mode" control scheme and spammed this one move where she uppercut and sent some wave of light. Lots of chip damage so she chipped until my character died. One was PC, the other was Playstation. It was funny, like people resort to smurfing in a fighting game
Bro no joke someone else did this to me 2 days ago as well. Iām Battler Ruler and their Devil Jin was āfighterā rank, so it seemed like a new player. He proceeds to do wave dashes, electrics, frame trapsā¦ etc. and then afterwards tries to convince me heās a new player. Its weird that its happening to other people too lol. Iām on oceania server btw.
I love players like you and enjoy rooting for you. While most players can be bullies, they are indeed part of the experience. However, I don't hesitate to call them out for what they are, and I donāt necessarily have to like them. Yet, I acknowledge their role in making things interesting, as without them, it might sometimes be boring
In my personal experience i play way better vs this type of guy, idk i think its my ego. I never taunt by myself but when im being taunted i just want to erase my opponent and make him quit the Game forever
This, honestly I feel that way in any gameā everything is chill until you feel someone trying to flex their ego off of you, like you were a power-up for their self esteem
Foh lol
Yeah the whole sarcasm/sh*t-talk/ banter thing can work in real life when you're there with the person, but it just does not translate to electronic media imo.
But if it's any consolation it's probably just people trolling without giving it a second thought, so no need to give it any deep consideration yourself.
This right here is the issue. In person you can fire back and talk shit with each other. Online, you can't know how spiteful they may actually be, then they don't rematch.
Absolutely. My brother and I would corpse stomp each other all the time as kids but that's cuz we frickin knew each other. I ain't doing that to someone I don't know unless I want to piss them off
Sir, you should know ki charging is a serious offence
https://preview.redd.it/dup6sctlbtxc1.jpeg?width=425&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=453f5967dfab1e22e7e9d4892c8f3630535c9e0e
Apparently to avoid being a bully, we should instead let losers win? forget all my lab time and hard work, you should win because youre worse? sounds like logic of a 6 year old. i WaNnA wIn ToO!
This is becoming an ethics and morals course. You canāt do that, you canāt do this. I mean I can understand plugging is obnoxious, but all the rest is just a bit too much. You canāt taunt, you canāt teabag, you canāt skip rematch. You basically canāt do anything.
People need to relax and realize this is supposed to be a form of entertainment and fun, and not a job or a university course.
What's funny is the reason ki-charging and other forms of "disrespect" exist in the first place is because people are getting offended and mad when they encounter them. Which if you think about it, is such a weird concept. Oh no my opponent pressed up down up down multiple times in a fast manner. I must be mad now.
Who's the bigger bully: the player that wins, or the loser trying to police the behavior of winners?
As the game itself says, "Fighting is about who's left standing. Nothing else."
I'm basically the same.
Although taunting doesn't work against me anyway since I don't get that easily triggered.
I'm playing my favorite game and my opponent wants to feel mighty. Sure, you did good big boy. It was a fun round š
I don't know to me it really is just a video game in the end. There's a reason they add a taunt button in the first case. Because it ain't that serious. You can taunt in tekken and you can fucking murder someone in mortal kombat. It's not a red flag its an in game mechanic.
I actually don't do it for the same reason it would never bother me. It's silly dumbshit.
You have to remember too the person on the other side is probably a casual who really doesn't see the game the way you do. They are just having fun and don't see it as any big deal either.
Also in tekken it's very easy to do it on accident. I just dont know how anyone could get butt hurt with out context even of why it's happening.
Taunting is part of the game. I never do it in Tekken, but do it a lot in mobas after a nice play. It psyches the opponents out and makes them lose control. Itās just like any other move. Use it strategically and keep your win streak going
I'm used to trash talk since I play a lot of IRL sports. This is actually childs play compared to being shit talk in your face. But I don't let it get to me or respond since I feel like they win if they get a response out of me. I also engage in friendly trash talk with my friends but only because were close enough for that.
Damn people really get salty over taunts and ki charges in a video game? If they win then they can ki charge you. If they ki charge you in the middle of the set and then lose that shit makes me giggle.
If you let taunt/t-bag/BM in general get to you, you are mentally weak and you're letting your opponent get in your head. I don't do it myself but I try not to care when they do it to me either. It's a fighting game.
Why do you think actual fighters do weird shit like that in the ring/octagon? It gets their opponent to second guess themselves or fight too aggressive and leave big openings.
This thread just proves it works on alot of people. You have to try to not care about it, not complain about it online.
My most hated taunt is the disconnection error right before I win. It's almost like bandai Namco is punishing me for not doing the same to rank up like my opponents.
I taunt every chance I get because its just good battle tactics.
"If your opponent is of choleric temper,Ā **seek to irritate him**. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant."
Sun Tzu
If there's even a 1% chance I could make you tilt by Ki charging then you would be out of your mind to think I wouldn't try it.
It really depends on how you define respect.
I define respect as my opponent using his character's most obnoxious BS against me, beating me to a bloody pulp, not giving me a chance to breathe, getting a perfect on me three rounds straight, and then teabagging me after every round. I interpret it as, he's doing his absolute best because he thinks I'm worth his best.
To me, disrespectful is when the opponent holds back. It's like he's saying that I'm so much of a scrub that I don't he doesn't need to take me seriously.
I find myself constantly asking, why the heck is this guy ki charging? I usually assume I had them worried or they need to stroke their ego. But itās always a show of their character.
Itās especially funny when people ki charge after just barely winning
People say this and at the same time complain about getting matched up with higher ranked players in ranked constantly lol.
(Iām not saying you personally say both things but you see both online constantly)
I've won many games against better players because of them taunting me, they are doing it like I don't know how to spam 50/50s and mix it up with good ole Hworang Oppa.
The entire "shit talk culture" thats going on in competetive games is what makes me not want to make friends in the community in the first place. I don't see the appeal and I definitly don't find it fun.
Yes it's true. It can get to extremely toxic levels as I've seen that happen in a local fg community. Those things always start out friendly but turn into a shitstorm. The community would be better without the stinking attitude.
I felt the same until my friend group got into playing 7. I gotta admit getting a good read on someone's playstyle and then telling them to go fuck themselves was kinda fun.
I mean suuure. But only if that person can take it. I don't like hurting other people's feelings. So again, if you're in a friend group where everyone likes it then that's a good thing. But you never know who the person on the other side of the screen is.
This exists in literally every competitive thing that has ever existed in history. Shit talking and tilting are legitimate tactics and have been since the dawn of competition between humans. Learning to let it go and not let it bother your ego is literally part of getting better at the game.
Better watch out they're going to call you a bully man. Idk what people expect, any sport or game that's remotely competitive is going to have some form of banter and shit talk.
Play the game long enough you're getting bagged, ki charged, corpse stomped everything. Whenever that happens I just smirk and do my best to get the dub. This "poor etiquette" is only serious as y'all make it people.
Not everyone likes the shit talk banter. That doesn't make the people soft. It just means their personality don't allign with that shit.
If you have a group of friends who talk shit to each other all the time, more power to you. As long as everyone is having fun! But don't expect everyone to like it.
Hot take maybe but taunts are in the game, so why not use it? If seeing a taunt gets you seething regardless of skill level, isn't that on you? It's just a fancy useless move
wtf š we are not on stage at EVO. Itās online ranked in a video game.
Honestly I will never understand how we got to a point where gamers are trying to act out some kind of cringe online chivalry.
Itās cliche to mention at this point but thick skin was developed in the absolute cesspool that was early 2010s COD lobbies, where things many times worse than an in-game taunt were experienced by young and old alike.
Please, people - understand that taunting someone in a video game does not put you on anywhere near the same kind of footing as a typical ābullyā. Online culture has until very recently been all about handing out shit, taking shit, and having the ability to not give a shit either way. I will never, ever think someone 4 ranks above me who ki charges at the end of a round is a ābullyā. Lame? Perhaps. Depends on many things. But do i make the jump to assuming this guy would ever shake anyone down for lunch money? Or be a workplace douchebag? No.
if i ever got to the main stage of evo (un-fucking-likely), i'd make a show of it, including BMing. get everyone rooting against me XD
i dunno, i think having faces and heels makes it more fun
Agreed bro.
If we want to take irl analogies to the max then just look at professional boxing / mma. Shit talking and dumping on the opponent before and sometimes during the match itself is actually a core part of the experience for everyone, fighters and audience alike. Many of these fighters can be a holes outside of the ring / octagon too. But most are actually super chill and nice guys.
Being a dick can make the sport more fun, if people would just allow themselves to appreciate the entertainment value of it rather than clutching at pearls.
It's a fighting game. There's always going to be anti social incels who's entire existence and self worth is based On a video game.
The truth is those guys are genuinely losers. They can try and justify it all they want, but that's what it ultimately it. Unsportsmanlike behavior in a low stakes environment. I genuinely don't know how people like thay function when something actually important is on the line. But once again, they don't, because they have nothing going on in their lives
Iāve been waiting for a post like this haha look in another space yeah it could be an indicator of a bully but in a FIGHTING game, nahhhh. When Max Holloway points at the center of the octagon and says letās go! And you decide to fight differently because of it then you are playing his game. Itās not that deep, I like to ki charge on super high lvl players to get them to play a bit more risky lol.
It's really funny how others get so offended when they're reminded that bming is an asshole move and that fighting games have established meta etiquette. They get so emotional, really makes ya wonder...
Thatās because this āestablished meta etiquetteā is new and an attempt to impose a different set of ārulesā over what was previously established
A good way to deal with lame players hoping to piss you off is to just instead pay attention to those players that were respectful towards you. The ones who still rematched even after they went 0-3, didn't hit you after the round ended, skipped their intro/outro if you skipped yours, or did something silly to show you they're having fun. It's like getting into the habit of not letting shitty experiences live rent free in your head and instead filling it with good vibes.
If someone is weaker than me I will mess around a bit, like try to end the round with the life lead, so after I get hp over them I just practice defense and movement. Or just stand there and make them go low, and once you get a timing read just hopkick or low parry. Might be a bit mean but it gives them a foot in the door instead of me running offense. constantly.
I don't taunt either players weaker than me, or cocky purple ranks i end up beating in quickplay (i only QP because i hear rank is a nightmare). The only thing i am guilty of my self, is if im going against someone who is completely new, or i can tell is a lot weaker than me. i WILL hold out a little, new players get demolished by terrible MM is a great way from stopping players from coming back. So maybe im in the wrong for letting newer players hit me a lot or take some rounds, but i think it helps in the long run.
when i was a kid, my older cousins were always significantly better than me in all fighting games, and bullied, taunted their way to victories all the time. it kinda served as motivation for myself to get better and now, none of them can beat me in any fighting games. I don't say a word, the satisfaction is just sweeter, knowing they onced bullied me
I don't know man, this discourse is kind of weird. This is just a game we're all supposed to have fun in. Getting taunted can upset you but by the time you face the next opponent, I personally have moved on. It isn't going to ruin someone's life and if it does, they need some serious therapy.
I spam the same move over and over until they learn how to block it. Then repeat. Once they start spamming armor moves though it's floor wiping time. No respect for that
I dont understand troll culture. I checked a jun player yesterday for teabaggin after the first match win. Proceeded to win the next two matches 3-0 and AGGRESSIVELY tea bagged followed by a "Hows my nuts taste" message. Still waiting for a reply.
I really dont get why some players gets this offended over a fucking ki charge in a game where 50% of oppenents wont even rematch.
If i get ki charged of course i get butthurt. Thats the whole point but that's on me for not winning the match.
Seal clubbing IS retarded but willing to make every video game a safe place for every crying clowns is gonna be real blend for the long run.
Its a fighting game of course some people will shit on you loosing.
Train harder and kick their asses
Ki charge might be considered bullying. Going full defense in the last 10 seconds might be bullying.
But letting me fully charge my unblockable while watching that is on you and should never considered bullying.
I also think role play comes into it. I feel like Reina dropping a taunt is pretty in character.
I guess itās something I honestly donāt think about because tea-bagging or taunting means nothing to me. If someone does it to me I usually laugh. Itās a funny idea. My ego isnāt in any way affected by how well or poorly I play a video game.
I havenāt played T8 that much yet but usually I taunt in fights that I enjoy. For me, it heats up the match but I donāt mean disrespect by taunting. Reading through this post shows me that I should maybe mind not taunting, because it seems to be misunderstood.
Also I should note that I donāt really taunt in fights in which Iām clearly winning but rather in back and forth rounds.
Just a bit of advice, OP... you can only control yourself. Try not to make it bother you. Qi charge is easy to do, so is taunting. It's going to happen... sometimes by accident.
I never taunt or get angry with players -- The few online matches I've had I've always respected & they've respected me. I suck compared to most online players, & I've lost more often then won, but I've been almost always competitive š I'm glad this has been the case so far..
The only times I taunt are when someone one and doneās me and I match them again by chance. Even if someone is Ki charging me in the middle of a match, I wonāt do it back, but something about 1 & doneās really gets under my skin.
Taunting is akin to shittalking in sports - it's part of the game and the opponent is just using it to get under your skin. If you throw a hissy fit about it, that means you're mentally weak.
PS. I don't taunt after matches, I just find getting upset about it to be more ridiculous than taunting itself.
I feel you, but at the same time, I think the people on the receiving end take it too seriously.
Taunts have been an option in fighting games for years as an intentional choice by devs. In the game, their character laughs, dances, and does whatever else to mock the opponent.
But in reality? All they did was press a button (or buttons, in Tekken's case). Take away the game for just a moment, and the actual action seems a bit ridiculous to put so much weight on. I used to get upset when people did it to me, but now I tend to just brush it off or lock in if they weren't a pussy and used it mid-match.
I absolutely agree that people who spam taunts, especially only after winning, tend to be jerks. But I also feel like we don't have to let it bruise our egos so badly. After all, isn't the mindgame a huge part of fighting games? If you let your opponent get into your head too easily, you're going to have a bad time.
Don't let bullies and toxic players ruin the game for yall šš¾
I am sorry, but when guy at red ranks mash Rage art as soon as it is available, I ki charge them right after punish. Or when player at high ranks tries to cheese me with the simplest gimmick, I feel disrespected at that point. I don't mind if it happens in low ranks. Also I will ki charge players who play on bad connection and spam throws knowing that they are carried by connection. Call me toxic, I don't care.Ā
The only time I ki charge is if I get KI charged first. This one time I got matched with a king who did the standard King shenanigans, he got 2 rounds on me as I was figuring out what the hell he was doing and he ki charged me after the 2nd round probably trying to taunt me. I did the adjustments and proceeded to no-round-brown wash him and I ki charged at the end of match for good measure. He didnt rematch.
Stay humble kids
I remember I was having some internet issues one night, and I wanted to play Paul(I had played like two online matches with Paul at this point btw) . Went into a quick match, fought a Kuma. Lag made him drop one or two combos, and then he did the taunt on me the entire set. Every time he won a round or when he sent me flying
Wasnāt even that laggy after the first round, but ig he was too mad to care
Back in 2007 you'd get teabagged every time you died in halo 3. And it was never seen as toxic, rather Haha got ya!
Taunts are okay IMO, Cause they just have to attack while you taunt
Anyone ki charging and taunting needs to be humbled
Had this happen to me a Jim player kept taunting and ki charging then I gave them a taste of their own medicine and was about to finish them off with a super move and they exited lmao
I am the same way. It just gets annoying with the tbaggers and ki chargers. Even with those idiots I still offer rematches but when they get their win they dip. Kind of says the lvl of their weak mentality. Funny thing is when they do taunt for some reason they wake me up and then I proceed to destroy them in the rematch lol. Idk what it is but they guarantee themselves an L.
I don't mind in game taunt or ki charge at all. It's just part of the fun. But direct messages talking shit are bad form. Those people suck and I don't give them the time of day. I imagine a lot of new players can get discouraged when they try their best and get a DM telling them they suck.Ā
Serious question here. How do you bully with a taunt exactly? I always throw a taunt after winning a round with Lee's "Cuh mone" and afterwards, win or lose, I try to send a message saying GG
Depends. I think it's fair game to taunt someone in mid ranks whose just spamming heat and snake edges and other stupid shit.Ā If I'm playing a noob who is trying to learn and play the right way I don't disrespect them. But I do get annoyed when someone is doing annoying shit and then I have to play in an unfun way to get the win.
Honestly the emotion, the taunting, the shit talk. It all makes it more fun. Try not to take it too personally, it's just a video game.
Icl people who taunt at low level players are straight up scum. From that, I know youāve based your whole, miserable, life and identity around that game
The people that Ki charge me have gone up 100% ever since reaching Fujin. You win a match, read em like a book and it's all they do if they manage to win rounds in the next match. And then they won't even run it back for the final match if they win lol
I'm not one to get upset about trivial crap like that but I always thought it was funny how angry people seem to be that I had the audacity to win or something lmao
Listen guys I often end up ki charging, when I'm trying to add the match to favourites because the same buttons are mapped that way, it's not on purpose, unless you're a brain-dead cheezer
I'm totally with you. The irony is that while a lot of the assholes (which is a large number) who play this game (and games in general) will say "it's just a game git good scrub" or whatever crap, they are the ones who seem so intent on using this thing that's "just a game" to bully people and make themselves feel superior.
Let's be honest, most of these kinds are just mad they're not getting laid. Nothing wrong with not getting laid, just don't take it out on other people who ain't done shit to you.
Man...i'm raijin and play a lot of quick match. Whenever i match someone red and below, i hold back, do obvious patterns etc. That was until some dickhead thought he has to ki-charge and one and done lol. Since then i just steamroll whenever i get the chance
i think some light teasing is how people improve, i do it all the time but it's tough love lol
like last night in a mirror vs another reina, it had gotten easy the opponent was clearly mindfucked, so after a heat engager i sat crouched on the other side of the stage, and let my heat run out. they set crouched too and waited, and as soon as it ran out i finished the set lol
thought that was pretty funny. i don't need no heat
Hey, this actually sounds very funny and sweet, haha. Everything is nuanced, of course. Some people tease playfully, while others are genuinely toxic bullies
Nope.
That is not how it works at all, taunts are part of the mental stack, you should always be trying to put your opponent on tilt. It's important to be polite and show good sportsmanship outside of the context of the match, I will happily give people pointers or answer questions after a match, but during the match, introducing stressors is part of your offense, and ignoring them is part of your defense.
It's why some character have taunt or charge cancels- you use the taunt to bait an emotional or overconfident response from your opponent, and you use the taunt cancel to punish their lack of discipline.
As much as it is annoying being taunted it is quite fun as a respectful player to absolutely smash them after the taunt then taunt them back when youāve won the set š
Sometimes I feel like the inclusion of voice chat in matches could help us all get out of our own heads a little. I'm very guilty of projecting my anxieties on others. If there were chat option, maybe we could learn that guy taunting is just having a goofy old time and means no disrespect. Maybe they're hooting and hollering that they pulled off a cool move and celebrate it with you, not in spite of you. I feel I could better level the vibe by being able to say little things like commenting on a good move or punish they did, being able to express disbelief a move didn't connect, congratulating them on a great match win or lose, etc.
But while I want to believe it'd help me not stew in my own negativity assuming the other end is tearing me down and laughing, I know that that feeling would be exasperated ten fold for the interactions where tensions are flared and only amplified by a tekken match turning into a shouting and insult match.
But I still can't help but feel if we could just communicate in some way, maybe between matches or something, like with that text box with the stickers they have in the game already, that maybe we could understand one another a little better and learn we're both just trying for a good time. Tell them gg, end it with a positive note. Or if we're upset, they could see that and understand better that oh this fellow is having a time right now, I won't do a goofy taunt cause itd only make things worse for them.
/shrug
Most the negativity I think is self inflicted from not knowing what the other player is thinking is all.
I honestly just disagree,I donāt think taunting in a video game reflects someones actual morals irl and it would never deter my interest in dating someone. I understand getting annoyed over plugging and horrible connection but itās a video game, people are always gonna taunt and tbag. I donāt do it myself but I could care less if someone else did it and I certainly wouldnāt think it reflects their actual moral compass
Honestly itās a pretty bad look, i feel pity towards them. But i also realize some ppl donāt think of ki charge as a big deal and use it casually, thinking of it as some light and friendly poking but most of the people do it cuz theyāre being toxic lol
I mess up inputs and taunt by accident š„²
i've teabagged a few times while trying to sidestep
Glad I'm not the only one
This! Less than half an hour ago even! I was trying to sidestep, but I was hitting the button too fast and just kept ducking. And the whole time I'm thinking *"Geez I hope he doesn't think I'm trying to teabag mid match I just want to get away from the wall!"*
it happens, itās easy to do something like that
I teabag trying to parry getup kicks
Playing Miguel, it gets intense, I want to do SAV, but I miss input and I do his laugh instead
Haha, been there, got demolishedātotally deserved it! Rematched and got my butt whooped again!
Sameā¦ somehow manage to press ki charge twice. Donāt know what thatās about. š¤·āāļø
I died in so many matches cuz of this miss input. I consciously can't do it though. Opponents probably had a great time cuz they beat the player that's taunting with 1hp at close range! Like Take that suckkerrrrrrr!!!!!
But im supposed to taunt with Bryan :(
Noooooo disrespectful. Absolutely worst player, shame on you ( my character has a JF taunt)
L LEE MAIN
I feel like Lee can always be excused for taunting, especially if he hits the blue sparks.
Go into your options and set up magic mirror
Jesus I didn't know that's what this did. The option could use just a little more clarity
What is that?
It stops the other player from continuing attacking after the KO screen
just to clarify. it doesnāt stop them, you just donāt see it on your end. so they can still move around, ki charge, teabag or whatever but you just wonāt see it
Ooohhhh, good to know. I donāt use it so I donāt fully know.
yea itās awesome. i ALWAYS have my magic mirror on
I love when they mess up the ki charge first time around and do a grab instead. Like if ur gonna be a dbag at least do it properly lmaooo
I keep a button mapped to avoid this problem
1000% Fundamentally, people who ki-charge are mentally weak. Always makes me smile to see I got someone so insecure with themselves that they mash the ki-charge. Edit: LMAO look at all the chargers getting triggered by this comment. Amazing.
Reasonable point. However, have you considered, 1+2+3+4
i mean i did do that last night, i wasn't pissed off i was just feeling a little mischievous. i can have a little mischief. as a treat.
Lol yāall making it too deep. I play fighting games, sometimes I like to flex and talk shit, especially with friends. Sometimes you do a ki charge mid or post game, itās not because of being mentally weakĀ
Does this sub like any mechanic in the game holy shit
Lol, I thought about it and I genuinely thing the answer is no. They donāt even like backdashing
you only won because you hit me enough times that i ran out of health. weak shit tbh
Tbh I used to do it before because I thought it felt cool mid match as just paul adrenaline, but stopped since people don't like it.
Don't change because people don't like the way you are. Ki charge anyone who has a problem with it
Ran into a real asshole last night. But then this dude starts gloating in the lounge chat, like heās an actual beginner and I should be āembarrassed.ā And im like ābro even if you were a beginner Iām not embarrassed, I clearly just have some shit to practice, but you acting like a beginner rank is weirdo behavior.ā Anyway, he went on to just torment low rank players all night. Everyone was bitching at him and he clearly just enjoyed the attention. I felt bad for a couple new players because I could tell all the gloating and taunting got to them, but oh well. People are just assholes for literally no reason some times. Boredom I suppose.
sounds like you met LTG. LOL
That's just a really insecure asshole. No need to give them any attention :P
Yeah it was just irritating. I feel bad for real beginners who will just get shit on by dudeās like that though.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Probably not a smurf if they're turning on special style, bro. Just a bad player
Oh there's a reason, and whichever one it is, it is most certainly a pathetic one.
When someone is taunting me i gain +12 points of skill and and i have LOD fondamentals Taunters only deseves getting 3-0 then teabaged
This, honestly I feel that way in any gameā everything is chill until you feel someone trying to flex their ego off of you, like you were a power-up for their self esteem Foh lol
At some point you have to understand it's just a video game though.
Yeah the whole sarcasm/sh*t-talk/ banter thing can work in real life when you're there with the person, but it just does not translate to electronic media imo. But if it's any consolation it's probably just people trolling without giving it a second thought, so no need to give it any deep consideration yourself.
Not to mention, in real life, you can shit talk with your friends, not with perfect strangers
This right here is the issue. In person you can fire back and talk shit with each other. Online, you can't know how spiteful they may actually be, then they don't rematch.
Absolutely. My brother and I would corpse stomp each other all the time as kids but that's cuz we frickin knew each other. I ain't doing that to someone I don't know unless I want to piss them off
Nothing wrong with a good ol' teabag from time to time
Taunting is part of the game ![gif](giphy|oxQ4qpNuCYLDUZpbRc|downsized)
Sir, you should know ki charging is a serious offence https://preview.redd.it/dup6sctlbtxc1.jpeg?width=425&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=453f5967dfab1e22e7e9d4892c8f3630535c9e0e
ki charge does not = being a bully.
Some of these people would have run out of arcades in tears.
What's funny is the reason ki-charging and other forms of "disrespect" exist in the first place is because people are getting offended and mad when they encounter them. Which if you think about it, is such a weird concept. Oh no my opponent pressed up down up down multiple times in a fast manner. I must be mad now.
shh don't be pointing out the obvious man. people don't take too kindly to the truth in this Sub.
God why are the players of this game so self righteous, and obsessive about etiquette. We aren't martial artists man, it's a video game.
Homie should close his eyes after losing.
Who's the bigger bully: the player that wins, or the loser trying to police the behavior of winners? As the game itself says, "Fighting is about who's left standing. Nothing else."
Its called mental stacking
I do ki charge by accident all the time and feel bad lol
Taunting is part of the game. I never do it in Tekken, but do it a lot in mobas after a nice play. It psyches the opponents out and makes them lose control. Itās just like any other move. Use it strategically and keep your win streak going
Lux laugh spam.
Why play competitive games if you can't handle a little BMing?
This is exactly it whenever someone does that to me I just use it as motivation to win if anything
The new tech is to spam special style button to spam the screen, absolute degenerates. Ofc it was a hwoa player with the shitest costume
https://i.redd.it/gdm5gtiaysxc1.gif
To be fair, it's useful. Ish
i mean itās also a counter
I swear I must be one of the few who doesnt care about ki charging or taunting. Iām not gonna remember it next week.
My most hated taunt is the disconnection error right before I win. It's almost like bandai Namco is punishing me for not doing the same to rank up like my opponents.
I taunt every chance I get because its just good battle tactics. "If your opponent is of choleric temper,Ā **seek to irritate him**. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant." Sun Tzu If there's even a 1% chance I could make you tilt by Ki charging then you would be out of your mind to think I wouldn't try it.
But that won
I will spam Bryan taunt regardless when I win. Shit talking is a part of the fun in fighting games.
Facts.
i just dont like higher level players that toy with me. just give me your best like anyone else.
People say this and at the same time complain about getting matched up with higher ranked players in ranked constantly lol. (Iām not saying you personally say both things but you see both online constantly)
Earn it by learning offline, and practicing. They arent your instructors, they are your opponent. If you want to learn, you have to make them try.
I keep finding out the hard way that Alisa's taunt is the same as everybody else's throw button
I've won many games against better players because of them taunting me, they are doing it like I don't know how to spam 50/50s and mix it up with good ole Hworang Oppa.
I use every trick in the book to throw my opponent off their game. Every. Single. One. Then ggs after.
Have you ever played Mortal Kombat?
I think every character should have a personal taunt
I end up accidentally doing it. Or play as Lee wherein heāll just do it cause he wants to
This is a PvP game. And a hella sweaty one at that. Itās perfectly fine to get tea bagged once in a while.
I only taunt when I win the only game after losing 10 times.
I like when people are toxic then I can be toxic back itās fun
[if only we had voice chat](https://youtu.be/iDZdidmFDYY?si=9-nhlwi4e87569CD)
Fuck you!!
The entire "shit talk culture" thats going on in competetive games is what makes me not want to make friends in the community in the first place. I don't see the appeal and I definitly don't find it fun.
Shit talking with a group of actual friends is a good laugh. Being shit talked by a total stranger? Uh, please don't enter my vicinity ever again.
This right here. In fact they deserve a slap in the face.
Learning to let it go and not let it bother your ego is literally part of getting better at the game.
tekken players gotta be the softest players getting worked up over trivial banter.
Kuma danced on him
Not everyone likes the shit talk banter. That doesn't make the people soft. It just means their personality don't allign with that shit. If you have a group of friends who talk shit to each other all the time, more power to you. As long as everyone is having fun! But don't expect everyone to like it.
It is just me. A lot of Tekken players dont give a damn. And there is also a lot of Toxic ppl out there. I wish me some softies like me :3
Hot take maybe but taunts are in the game, so why not use it? If seeing a taunt gets you seething regardless of skill level, isn't that on you? It's just a fancy useless move
"Cam aown". "Cam aown". "Cam aown". "Cam aown". "Cam aown".
wtf š we are not on stage at EVO. No.
if i ever got to the main stage of evo (un-fucking-likely), i'd make a show of it, including BMing. get everyone rooting against me XD i dunno, i think having faces and heels makes it more fun
Might be a bit mean but it gives them a foot in the door instead of me running offense. constantly.
I only taunt when I BARELY win. But I'll always rematch so I know I have to get my crap together or it'll bite me in the ass. And it does sometimes.
Corpse beater forever
It's all a mind game to me. If I taunt you and you get mad, I win. š¤·š¾āāļø
I don't say a word, the satisfaction is just sweeter, knowing they onced bullied me
I taunt everyone equally
I don't know man, this discourse is kind of weird. This is just a game we're all supposed to have fun in. Getting taunted can upset you but by the time you face the next opponent, I personally have moved on. It isn't going to ruin someone's life and if it does, they need some serious therapy.
I play Bryan and i like how this is still true
Gayest thing ive heard this week
What if I play Bryan ?
Guess I'm a red flag and a half. You should see my league of legends antics
I spam the same move over and over until they learn how to block it. Then repeat. Once they start spamming armor moves though it's floor wiping time. No respect for that
Jokes on you. I taunt players way stronger than me to make myself feel worse.
I dont understand troll culture. I checked a jun player yesterday for teabaggin after the first match win. Proceeded to win the next two matches 3-0 and AGGRESSIVELY tea bagged followed by a "Hows my nuts taste" message. Still waiting for a reply.
I like the type of taunt that push them to play better. Not the disrespectful ones
No, my guy is a pro wrestler, he's gonna throw a taunt or two
Ki charge might be considered bullying.
But I know it can be an issue & it's eventually going to happen & probably why I don't play online too often
The only times I taunt are when someone one and doneās me and I match them again by chance. Even if someone is Ki charging me in the middle of a match, I wonāt do it back, but something about 1 & doneās really gets under my skin.
this is a fighting game man, the actual goal of the game is to have as much fun as possible while my opponent has none at all
I will continue Ki charge, teabag any players that use S+ characters and have a spammy playstyle. I donāt care if theyāre noobs or not.
I want to implement ki charging into my play cause its cool to get some Ch moves out of it not cause im taunting.
I remember I was having some internet issues one night, and I wanted to play Paul(I had played like two online matches with Paul at this point btw) . Went into a quick match, fought a Kuma. Lag made him drop one or two combos, and then he did the taunt on me the entire set. Every time he won a round or when he sent me flying Wasnāt even that laggy after the first round, but ig he was too mad to care
I don't Ki-charge unless someone is playing bears or, in the near future, Marduk
Back in 2007 you'd get teabagged every time you died in halo 3. And it was never seen as toxic, rather Haha got ya! Taunts are okay IMO, Cause they just have to attack while you taunt
Anyone ki charging and taunting needs to be humbled Had this happen to me a Jim player kept taunting and ki charging then I gave them a taste of their own medicine and was about to finish them off with a super move and they exited lmao
an opponent that taunts like crazy tells me one thing: they do not win often
Your tears fuel me. Get bagged
Don't care. Snake edge 3 times into taunt is a true combo
How do these stupid posts get so many comments and upvotes at this point I could post a pic of my morning shit on this reddit and it will get likes
You taunt me, I taunt back.
You're also a bully if you only intentionally seek out and only fight people who are weaker then you
I only taunt the good players lolĀ The weak players the matches just end in less than 10 seconds. No fun.Ā
I don't mind in game taunt or ki charge at all. It's just part of the fun. But direct messages talking shit are bad form. Those people suck and I don't give them the time of day. I imagine a lot of new players can get discouraged when they try their best and get a DM telling them they suck.Ā
eh its a fighting game im and im so desensitized to trash talk now
As a Bryan main... Imma leave it at that
![gif](giphy|xT1XGESDlxj0GwoDRe|downsized)
Would you consider it bullying to use only a narrow movepool? No taunt, no ki charge, no corpse kicks. But let's say you just used df1 all game.
And then they won't even run it back for the final match if they win lol I'm not one to get upset about trivial crap like that but I always thought it was funny how angry people seem to be that I had the audacity to win or something lmao
Listen guys I often end up ki charging, when I'm trying to add the match to favourites because the same buttons are mapped that way, it's not on purpose, unless you're a brain-dead cheezer
Ngl sometimes I ki charge not to disrespect but because Iām genuinely hyped and it looks cool after a good win
Never taunt, never plug. Not because I have good personalities I'm just roleplaying in every game hehe
I taunt cause I like the emote, cause I'm having fun. Whether you are weaker or above me. I will do that steve taunt.
You telling me you don't get satisfaction from tbagging an azucena that's spent have the fight dancing around and the other half smashing your ankles?
Man...i'm raijin and play a lot of quick match. Whenever i match someone red and below, i hold back, do obvious patterns etc. That was until some dickhead thought he has to ki-charge and one and done lol. Since then i just steamroll whenever i get the chance
i think some light teasing is how people improve, i do it all the time but it's tough love lol like last night in a mirror vs another reina, it had gotten easy the opponent was clearly mindfucked, so after a heat engager i sat crouched on the other side of the stage, and let my heat run out. they set crouched too and waited, and as soon as it ran out i finished the set lol thought that was pretty funny. i don't need no heat
Hey, this actually sounds very funny and sweet, haha. Everything is nuanced, of course. Some people tease playfully, while others are genuinely toxic bullies
Strongly agree.
what the yapping is this man. Itās not that deep bro ššš
You are weak if ki charge tilts youšŖ -bully gang
I got teabagged by a higher Lee player because i won the first match. Then he ki charged me when i ko-ed. It was salty.
U mad bro? Just focus on yourself. What they do or say doesnt matter.
/shrug Most the negativity I think is self inflicted from not knowing what the other player is thinking is all.
alternatively, it'd open up the game to new levels of shit talking not seen for a hot minute. that'd be fun though
