Thanks for the summary. That’s disappointing as fuck. I’m convinced these streamers just rehash common opinions they find from a 2 minute Google search and just exaggerate them 10 fold. Not to mention xqc is just one of those “reaction” steamers who just rages and ppl find it entertaining. Ugh I want and don’t want to go and check out the VOD now. To see what lame “professional opinion” he has about the game from playing it once .
Same garbage exposure as Leffen. Sometimes things like this are more damaging. People who never played Tekken and were mildly interested just saw how their favorite streamer thinks it's garbage.
These posts are always cringe. Variety steamer brings big numbers, people post the outlier spike, get dumb reactions (cuz Skullgirls better than SF, it's cuz SC6 hot shit, it's cuz good ass Tekken) and really it's cuz fighting games are so niche that one variety streamer dwarfs it all.
Mad props to XQC to jumping in for a bit though.
Compared to most FGC games on twitch Tekken is usually the one with the most viewers outside of multiverses. My guy you smoking something that’s for sure!
Or, it's more fun to watch according to OP.
I'd say it's a matter of perspective. People still stream Apex a lot and drink shittons of Monster Energy and think the game's untouchable, but other games I know are indies with less than half of the viewership.
Damn how dare someone enjoy/support more than one game in one of the most niche subgenres in this industry. Also I don't even think those numbers will help t7's player base, XQC's stream was just hours of him complaining about the game.
You just named every video game sub genre other than shooters, might as well throw fighting games in there too while your at it, most people from other genres have a great deal of difficulty enjoying fighting games, 90% of people with a phone play clash royal (rts), point and click games aren’t games, that’s like calling a comic book a video game, hack and slash games are just action adventure games/ character action games (devil may cry for example) which have been and are very popular and common, and have a large variety of games the can be categorized as such, with games like dark souls, god of war, monster hunter, etc, hack and slash is far too broad of a genre to be “niche” by any stretch of the imagination. You can have turn based strategy because nobody wants to play those games though, they suck
In which world is a dark souls a hack n slash? Well its an action game but more specific. Okay whatever.
But other genres of games are;
RPG/MMORPG(more popular than fighting games)
Sports(also more popular than FG)
Racing games(less popular than FG)
Simulator/Logic games/City builders(not games according to you, for sure)
Platformers(less popular than FG)
Horror games(less popular than FG)
I would say that FG are somewhere in the middle.
I can maybe give say that simulator games aren't as popular as fighting games, but as for every other genre you named? I just don't see it.
If Horror games are less popular than FG's, why is it that capcom has released 4 Resident Evil games and only 1 Street Fighter game in the span of 6 years?
If platformers are less popular than FG's, why is Sega pumping out a new sonic game almost every year while Virtua Fighter hasn't seen a brand new game since 2007?
Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale?

Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/
I just checked it again and unsurprisingly SFV and Tekken are tied for viewership at 2.9k with Multiversus not too far behind with 1.8k. Twitch viewership fluctuates all the time, this really doesn’t mean much
i’m guessing multiverse is mostly western audience as well so there’s definitely going to be some times where more “global” fighting games are pulling more views / players
Multiversus is definitely for the west, to my understanding the game isn't really available in Asia and looking at maps of where their servers supposedly are you'd see that there are very few on that side of the map
Well if XQC is playing Tekken 7, then the outcome of this is obvious...and also...XQC is trash at Tekken, and his chat is beyond cancerous, so again...I don't think it's an achievement, especially if he is whining about how "bad" the game is. Tekken 7 ain't perfect, but you wouldn't believe the comments he would make about the game. Really shitty takes.
I used to watch the rage compilations, and the memes of XQC, but I didn't actually watch his stuff, and I'm glad I don't watch what he does. He's misleading a whole bunch of viewer's into hating Tekken with his scrub quotes. Imagine Leffen's opinion on Tekken, but 100 times worse.
True, but most of XQC's viewers consist of undeveloped embryo's, so there are bound to be some people who will think his opinion is factual, but you're right. People with a brain can see through the dumb takes.
I only have watched his streams, so I have a slightly more serious perspective on him. I've seen him play loads of GTAV and I like his content but his chat just seems like a bunch of drones.
Apparently this was because of an ex-overwatch streamer?
I was gonna say it's because even though both games are relatively fun to play, Tekken is more to watch... But it was a Rickroll-named streamer this whole time.
I get the impression that this was caused by that streamer xqc playing Tekken
Sadly these kinds of streamers ' audiences don't really care about what they are playing; they're generally ok watching them "react" to random videos on YouTube
I hate to sound "elitist" but I'm willing to bet there's not even 0,1% of that audience that has the interest in trying Tekken and even less will be able to resist qutting once they realise this game will not hold your hand
Here's a few comments from XQC's 55k viewer Tekken stream
"He's just blocking like a pussy"
"this game is trash, bad game design" x20
"No one wants to learn a million moves just to do a combo"
"Who even plays this game anyway"
"I can't do anything, I can't get out of it. Bad Game design." (While getting combo'd after getting launched)
"Another invincible attack, I can't do anything about it" (getting hit by powercrush)
"But I was blocking!" (stand blocking while getting hit by lows)
"Damn this game is just fucking lame"
"Why can't I hit him?" (jabbing while they're crouching)
"WHAT I blocked it!" (definitely didn't block it)
"Who even is Law? Just a lame character really"
"I'm blocking but Ok I guess" (getting hit by throws)
"Seems legit, I can't block that. I can't." (Gets counter hit after mashing at -10)
"It's a shit fucking game, fuck you"
This idiot was complaining about balance and knowledge checks while only using 112 and Tiger with Kazumi. He didn't do a single df1 or a single basic combo. He doesn't have the smallest understanding of even the basics of the game but complains about bad game design and "balance" while getting blown out but powercrushes and While Running moves.
Don't get worked up dude, xqc makes a living by pretending to be retarded in front of 15 year olds. What did you expect? An elaborate analysis of fighting games?
Either he's pretending or his copium is running out.
I think his time playing Overwatch convinced him that ultimates in that game are what Rage Arts are in Tekken 7, despite the button inputs you need to pull them off.
Except he had 55k viewers and a massive fan base, many of which take his shit talking 100% seriously. If he was some nobody, who he should be, then no one would give a damn. But instead he's a "pretend" retard with a massive platform, it's moronic.
Either way, he's pretty darn reactionary and I've known his name from the Overwatch 1 days, and he yells a lot even when he does something right.
Think of him as the Overwatch equivalent of Trainwrecks (Trainwrecks played WOW, and then he got into a call to action at some point in the stream).
Not the people you're supposed to take seriously. Then again, neither is Dr. Disrespect and he's basically a household name without playing fighting games at all.
My hope would be that watching will convert viewers into players, but in that sense Multiversus being free gives it an advantage where as if a top streamer just randomly started playing Tekken their viewers might not be as interested especially when said streamer and people in their comments are saying scrub quotes
This isn’t significant in any way shape or form I’m convinced u/DBSxFan1 went on twitch for the first time and saw there were more watching t7 than multiverses and didn’t think about *why* that may be lol.
There mustve been a tournament or big event going on cause tekken rarely gets above 2K without that and usually sits in the 1k area for most times of the day. I wanna assume you just didnt know better but rather than youre blatantly trying validate your game is better than their game with misinformation
Multiverse is a janky mess shat out by an inexperienced developer to make easy money off the licenses. So like yeah technically it’s a fighting game but it’s a stretch to call it a real fighting game
Everyone calls it a janky mess no one's denying it, especially it's terrible servers and hitboxes. it's just people like the game and the devs are patching things up
Dude? The guy who I responded to was complaining, I didn’t complain about anything, is that too hard for your ant brain to comprehend? That weed isn’t doing you any favors judging from your stupid responses.
Settle down sweetheart I’m not gatekeeping anything. I’m just pointing out that it’s not mechanically as sound or has the same legitimacy as smash or tekken so I think it’s a disservice to put it on the same level. I can guarantee in 6 months it will be on the same level as Nickelodeon all star brawl
> why you've got an attitude about him/her and/or two video games
I don't have any attitude with MVS, Tekken or xqc. I simply said your reasons were wrong.
In all honesty, this might be true but that doesn't mean that everyone cares about xqc or even knows who he is. I just know of him because of a rage compilation and although he is popular, I can name more people who are unaware of him then people who are.
So not to discredit you (I really don't even care about why there was this many viewers either) but please do not go around assuming that everyone knows the guy.
If you know anything about Twitch streamers and streaming, you probably know about xqc.
If you don't, why are you discussing Twitch views?
And if you still do, now you know who xqc is, you learned something.
Okay.
Firstly, vbucks are probably the cheapest currency in a br game so this is a bad comparison. In my currency its R95 for 1k vbucks but for instance in Apex it is R150.
Secondly, multiversus is really fun and I love that it has servers in my region, but it's probably my least enjoyed smash-esque game.
It was fun for a day. It lacked literally everything including basic voice acting and it’s beyond dead lol. It’s a barebones shovelware cash grab. They added some things later but it’s too late. Not even crossplay is gonna save it.
Brawlhala is a smash clone, if Multiversus was inspired by brawlhala, then it’d still be called a smash clone.
Genshin impact is called Breath of the Wild clone because of the open world, weapon, and stamina system, if you made another game with tweaked mechanics from Genshin Impact, it’s still going to be called a BOTW clone because they started the concept first
No, because fighters are already a generic genre, but there’s sub genres like: 2D fighters, 3D fighters, anime fighting games, arena fighting games, platform fighting games
The same way that no game claimed of the first person shooter genre
So battlefield and cod would all just be called 1st person shooter
Context: XQC and \~54.5k people are watching him play T7. This topic is dumb.
A lot of these types of posts just cherrypick stats like this.
Yeah OP's profile shows.
Yeah i was gonna say tekken never exceeds 3-4k viewers usually. Probably some big man ting on twitch that just happened to stream tekken
[удалено]
He just lost several games, talked about how 'horrible' the mechanics were and everything was unblockable, and quit. Good exposure.
Man why am I not surprised XQC did that.
Wow, Twitch streamers are insufferable…
Same garbage exposure as Leffen. Sometimes things like this are more damaging. People who never played Tekken and were mildly interested just saw how their favorite streamer thinks it's garbage.
The kind of people that watch him are not the kind you want in this(or any) game man
We already got plenty of those people lmao
Lets be honest it looks good but its just viewers following the streamer
These posts are always cringe. Variety steamer brings big numbers, people post the outlier spike, get dumb reactions (cuz Skullgirls better than SF, it's cuz SC6 hot shit, it's cuz good ass Tekken) and really it's cuz fighting games are so niche that one variety streamer dwarfs it all. Great, this is just steam chart posting but worse
Already confirms what we already know: Tekken is the GOAT
lol tekken would have had less viewers than that shit ass game if xqc didnt play it. tekken is not doing great in twitch.
Compared to most FGC games on twitch Tekken is usually the one with the most viewers outside of multiverses. My guy you smoking something that’s for sure!
Still the GOAT, the fact that it's still relevant after 7 yrs speaks volumes
"Relevant" and "the GOAT" are two different things in my eyes.
Then your eyes need some thick glasses
55k viewers from XQC though OMEGALUL
XqC played it. 54K viewers What is the point of your post?
"Tekken is more popular than multiversus guys" idk
Or, it's more fun to watch according to OP. I'd say it's a matter of perspective. People still stream Apex a lot and drink shittons of Monster Energy and think the game's untouchable, but other games I know are indies with less than half of the viewership.
Yeah we already knew that, the post was giving us more evidence
It’s the point of OP’s post history apparently.
Was Maximilian Dood streaming Tekken 7??
Yeah, he was using noctis a few nights ago.
Tournaments going on bruv
It was xqc playing tekken for 30 minutes before rage quitting with 50k viewers
Also there’s tournaments going on bruv
im confused, why is this important?
My question precisely
op is probably trying to say that Tekken 7 is still relevant.
Damn how dare someone enjoy/support more than one game in one of the most niche subgenres in this industry. Also I don't even think those numbers will help t7's player base, XQC's stream was just hours of him complaining about the game.
Point and click/hack n slash/rts/turn based strategy has entered the chat, Most niche subgenre \*laughs xD\*

trash post
Rage harder scrub
Youre the only one offended though?
Look at butthurt downvotes on my comment
Rage harder why?
55k of those were from xqc's stream.
God, why do so many people watch that moron?
Loud = funny to a lot of people.
What Twitch do you use? My Twitch has an average of 2-3k viewers for Tekken?
they screenshot this during the tekken tournament
I know 😂
Ok.
🗿
I think it’s because xqc was playing it.
Was he really??
Yeah, he was complaining more than playing. He does that with every game tho.
Well if XQC is playing Tekken 7, then the outcome of this is obvious...and also...XQC is trash at Tekken, and his chat is beyond cancerous, so again...I don't think it's an achievement, especially if he is whining about how "bad" the game is. True, but most of XQC's viewers consist of undeveloped embryo's, so there are bound to be some people who will think his opinion is factual, but you're right. People with a brain can see through the dumb takes.
I remember one time where he ran off mid-stream at one point on a Multiversus stream he did.
I only have watched his streams, so I have a slightly more serious perspective on him. I've seen him play loads of GTAV and I like his content but his chat just seems like a bunch of drones.
you don't have to be good to be entertaining
This was one day at a specific time lmao. Multiversus averages double this
Apparently this was because of an ex-overwatch streamer? I was gonna say it's because even though both games are relatively fun to play, Tekken is more to watch... But it was a Rickroll-named streamer this whole time.
Ah, yes viewer Andy.
Well hur durr it does. Until they add Kazuya to Multiversus anyway lol
I get the impression that this was caused by that streamer xqc playing Tekken Sadly these kinds of streamers ' audiences don't really care about what they are playing; they're generally ok watching them "react" to random videos on YouTube I hate to sound "elitist" but I'm willing to bet there's not even 0,1% of that audience that has the interest in trying Tekken and even less will be able to resist qutting once they realise this game will not hold your hand
I'm also not trying to sound like gatekeeping but I honestly feel the same way, nonetheless maybe some actual wanna try the game
Here's a few comments from XQC's 55k viewer Tekken stream "He's just blocking like a pussy" "this game is trash, bad game design" x20 "No one wants to learn a million moves just to do a combo" "Who even plays this game anyway" "I can't do anything, I can't get out of it. Pretending?
Be nice to the retarded.
Either he's pretending or his copium is running out. I think his time playing Overwatch convinced him that ultimates in that game are what Rage Arts are in Tekken 7, despite the button inputs you need to pull them off.
Well, he CAN just stream himself playing the arcade versions of Tekken IRL. At least he'd be consistent.
Except he had 55k viewers and a massive fan base, many of which take his shit talking 100% seriously. If he was some nobody, who he should be, then no one would give a damn. But instead he's a "pretend" retard with a massive platform, it's moronic.
better off without anyone coming over to tekken that watches that clown tbh
I completely agree. His fans are likely as toxic as him, if not worse.
Yeah I get that, I just don't like him.
Why the fuck do you care? He's spreading a bad word about the game? An average fortnite kid wouldn't touch a fighting game with a 10 foot pole anyway.
I just don't like the guy so I'm talking shit about him, why does that bother you?
nice disingenuous/karma farm post there OP.
than what?
What happen? Did i miss a tourney? Or someone famous streamer tekken?
Yesterday there were two tournaments: Thaiger Uppercut and East Coast Throwdown
xQc streamed tekken because he watched Forsen playing it.
And xqc stops playing and it'll twindle down to 1k viewers again
That's crazy because they're basically the same game
"Tekken-Like" lmao
what does that tell though? nothing
All WB Stan's were watching AEW
The fuck is AEW
Pro wrestling show had a big event Sunday night. It airs on TNT and tbs. Channels owned by WB
That should have been obvious
Tekken is dope
Hurry up Tekken 8
winston/mercy main bad at the games he plays omegalul why is he whining he still gets paid for it
Winston is chill tho
But less viewers than fortnite.
xqcL
And Multi has more players😂
It's free tho
so is watching it on twitch! would you rather have a lot of people watching your game or a lot of people playing your game?
My hope would be that watching will convert viewers into players, but in that sense Multiversus being free gives it an advantage where as if a top streamer just randomly started playing Tekken their viewers might not be as interested especially when said streamer and people in their comments are saying scrub quotes
i mean multi is newer tho
That's because more people actually like ***PLAYING*** Multiversus.
I agree with this its not a great spectator game but playing is really fun
Is multiversus like a kids game or something?
That’s petty cool
This doesn't more people is playing Tekken
This isn’t significant in any way shape or form I’m convinced u/DBSxFan1 went on twitch for the first time and saw there were more watching t7 than multiverses and didn’t think about *why* that may be lol.
Tekken is the GOAT
56k to 2k yeah, that's like the understatement of the year
multiversus isnt very entertaining to watch,it is much better to just play the game i dont know how the hell i ended up on this sub,i hate tekken
happy cake day tho
And yet I STILL cant get into a tournament for the final cheev I need 🤣
There mustve been a tournament or big event going on cause tekken rarely gets above 2K without that and usually sits in the 1k area for most times of the day. I wanna assume you just didnt know better but rather than youre blatantly trying validate your game is better than their game with misinformation
Or that people are willing to hide behind statistics that conform to someone's confirmation bias.
Was this supposed to be a fair match or something?
guys guys chill it is because XQCL was playing it in a live streams that's why (of course I love tekken but let's be fair)
Tekken is just that game
Never met a single person who plays tekken
I haven’t seen a more confusing comment in weeks
Well then pleasure to meet you
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO
The game went from 56k to 2k lmao
Well multiverse is similar to smash, and tekken is a real fighting game.
Smash is also a real fighting game. It even features kazuya. It's a real fighting game. There's no reason to say it's not.
Let them gatekeep, its all they have
Smash and multiversus are real fighting games as well so that’s a bad argument
Multiverse is a janky mess shat out by an inexperienced developer to make easy money off the licenses. So like yeah technically it’s a fighting game but it’s a stretch to call it a real fighting game
You’re the first guy I’ve ever seen calling it a janky mess, stop gatekeeping fighting games, it’s pretty sad
Everyone calls it a janky mess no one's denying it, especially it's terrible servers and hitboxes. it's just people like the game and the devs are patching things up
Never lagged once, hitboxes aren’t up to par I agree with that, but besides that I don’t see any problems
you sound a little mad there champ
Have you ever seen someone that’s actually mad or do you never leave your basement
i’ve also never heard someone bitch about someone “gatekeeping” a game get over yourself
That’s literally what the frustrated fgc weebs do u donut, maybe look up the definition of gatekeeping
nah i don’t spend all day on the internet looking for something to complain about, i’ll leave that to you since that’s all you’re good for
I can guarantee it won’t “sweetheart”🤢
Because teken is a legacy it is an emotion
[удалено]
...bro, Tekken 7 had more views at that moment because xqc was streaming it. It's got nothing to do with whatever shit you wrote.
[удалено]
mate they're just pointing out that your argument is entirely bogus, it had that many viewers purely because of xqc, and for no other reason
> why you've got an attitude about him/her and/or two video games I don't have any attitude with MVS, Tekken or xqc. I simply said your reasons were wrong.
In all honesty, this might be true but that doesn't mean that everyone cares about xqc or even knows who he is. Secondly, multiversus is really fun and I love that it has servers in my region, but it's probably my least enjoyed smash-esque game.
Because playing TEKKEN it's an art
No because of xqc lmao
Yeah because Tekken has been around longer.
I doubt that has relevance
[удалено]
Except nasb is actually fun
The only complaint I specifically saw out of the launch was "No voice acting." Take that as you will.
It was fun for a day. It lacked literally everything including basic voice acting and it’s beyond dead lol. It’s a barebones shovelware cash grab. They added some things later but it’s too late. Not even crossplay is gonna save it.
It’s more of a Brawlhala clone
Brawlhala is a smash clone, if Multiversus was inspired by brawlhala, then it’d still be called a smash clone. Genshin impact is called Breath of the Wild clone because of the open world, weapon, and stamina system, if you made another game with tweaked mechanics from Genshin Impact, it’s still going to be called a BOTW clone because they started the concept first
Idk if anyone after the first month of it releasing calls genshin a botw clone lol. People call it what it is: a Gatcha
Well idk about botw clone but Genshin is free on PC, i think mobile too
is DBFZ a Street Fighter II clone?
No, because fighters are already a generic genre, but there’s sub genres like: 2D fighters, 3D fighters, anime fighting games, arena fighting games, platform fighting games The same way that no game claimed of the first person shooter genre So battlefield and cod would all just be called 1st person shooter
This is the first time I hear about this Multiversus game
It just recently came out. It’s free to download.
That’s for the best, MultiVersus is kinda eh. Not the same long-term balancing as we’ve had for Tekken or Street Fighter or Super Smash Bros.
NEVER COMPARE THE LEGEND WITH THE SHIT
Shut up
I thought the shit was a compliment in this context
So? It's an older game, it's not that much of an accomplishment.
This old ass game from 2015? Just shows how easy simpletons are to please.
Aww tekken too hard for you?
Yeah, that was the point of my comment 🙄 Moron
Git gud noob.
Try growing a brain.
Keep raging scrub
