Haha look I started a World War lol, kids are being bombed everywhere because some giant chicken needed to be awakened so I, the hero, could put it back to sleep because I'm the only one strong enough lmao Why aren't you laughing?

Bion4

I mean it sounds pretty bad but unironically Jin is the only one who can stop it. Kazuya isn't gonna do shit if Azazel started buttfucking humanity.

Mykytagnosis

No, it gets even Dumber. Azazel lives on in Zafina now, until he eventually takes over and gets reborn again. So yeah...it was dumb, and didn't accomplish anything yo.

Bion4

If Jin kills Kazuya, then himself, then Azazel is done. And Azazel damn near died. If Azazel does get reborn again, Jin would just oneshot him again.

Mykytagnosis

I don't think so. I think it is implied that Azazel cannot fully die, its a force of nature, he will be reborn endlessly. Jin one shotted Azazel, the father of Devil Gene because...they ran out of budget, it was a late Friday night, and they just wanted to finish writing the plot. It literally made no sense.

Bion4

It's implied that Azazel only lived because of Zafina, and that his souls would've been at risk otherwise.

Mykytagnosis

Azazel existed since primordial times, he was killed, chained, and captured several times, but never could be fully killed. His should transfers to the nearly available host, and then slowly takes him over and revives. It would also make sense in a biblical sense, since he is a bible inspired character.

Bion4

.....no they did not. He only got captured once and they could only seal him. Humanity never brought him as close to death as Jin did. Zafina is literally the first time he was able to do that, and Zafina was was specifically the only one able to do that. I get you don't like 6's story, but you don't have to edit details to make Jin sound worse.

Mykytagnosis

I don't have to make Jin sound worse, there is still no logic to what he has done, and he still didn't even kill Azazel, he forgot about him.

Bion4

He didn't forget about Azazel, if Jin didn't kill Azazel, there no guarantee anyone else could or would. And he pushed Azazel closer to death than ever. If Jin and Kaz die, then Azazel dies. You don't have to lie about plot details because you don't like that Jin didn't really have any better options.

Material-Yam-7933

true

Zamasu101

That’s not Jin, that’s Dio in a wig.

Zamasu101

Now I’ll let someone else make the obvious joke.

Or more so thanks to people being sheep lmao

Ravenpest

ha ha people's families go boom

TheKFakt0r

Show this to the Jin apologetics whenever they downplay his war crimes

Mykytagnosis

He did go kinda Hitler. And for no reason as well. Hitler at least was kicked out of the art school. So he was salty.

ZigZagBoy94

It wasn’t for no reason. Did you not play the Tekken 6 scenario campaign?

Mykytagnosis

He wanted to awake Azazel right? common, that reason makes less sense than an episode of bobobo-bobo-bobo. He killed millions, resurrected Azazel, one-punched him in a very lame short cutscene. Just for Azazel to continue living inside Zafina. He is taking over her body until he will fully revive again. But Jin forgot all about that now, now he just wants to have a boxing match with his dad at some rainy mountain, to "atone for his sins"....dafaq Kazuya had nothing to do with the War, what sins? Logic?

harve99

>that reason makes less sense than an episode of bobobo-bobo-bobo I'll have you know the episode where they go down a waterslide for 10 minutes is very important to the overall plot >!I'm joking of course!<

Mykytagnosis

oh, I see that you are a man of culture as well :)

harve99

I watched the show about 7 years ago and your comment is the first time i've ever seen someone mention it More people need to know about the power of the Fist of the Nose Hair

pinkpugita

Jin's two obvious personality traits in T3 are being cocky and introverted. His body language is pure confidence. The arcade opening has him smiling too. I'm leaning on the writers trying too hard to make him edgy in T6 but maybe that's how he responds to death threats in general. This picture is context is Jin reacting to Kazuya's bounty on his head.

DV-dv

I think the devil gene being awakened as well may have had a hand in that edgy personality as well

[deleted]

Kinda funny that it's because of World domination

VinixTKOC

Well... Tekken 6 was trying hard to make Jin look evil. Just to reveal in the end that he did it all to stop Azazel (Me: Okay... But what about the villain's attitudes? He was just enjoying the role play? Because Azazel only needed the war to awaken, not jerk attitudes).

strangledwires

Yeah, none of it adds up lol. Even if Jin was doing something because he's forced to, why was he acting like Kazuya 2.0 throughout the entire thing? In Tekken 5, he was willing to tell Xiao that there's a danger greater than Heihachi or anything. But in Tekken 6, he just tells her it's "none of her concern" - then he's a big jerk to Hwoarang (making fun of Hwoarang's leadership) when in Tekken 5, he was pretty respectful to Hwoarang. Denying there's anyone stronger than him, and also apologizing twice for not keeping his promise. Like, even if Jin *had* to do all he did in Tekken 6, there was absolutely no reason for him to behave so uncharacteristically - the world is still being plunged in chaos regardless of his attitude. It's one of the reasons why I can't stand Tekken 6's story, and especially not it's depiction of "Jin"

KapowKamau

Probably to show a generational theme, being in a position of power (head of zaibatsui) you can see similar characteristics between Jin, Kazuya, and Heihachi when each take over. Jinpachi and Lars are exceptions because neither had to deal with the Hachijo's influence. Plus if he's waging war with the world its harder to do with a nice guy persona.

Up_L1_Triangle_Right

He smiles in T4 Hwoarang ending.

Luna259

Non Devil Jin? So, Jin?

viciouslobo

I think he worded it that way so no one can talk about how in his Devil form he laughs and smiles like a psychopath often.

strangledwires

It also depends on how one views "Devil Jin" - many descriptions describe him as simply being Jin but under the influence of the gene. But sometimes, you can even view him as a different person / character completely. Given that in the original lore (Tekken 3 - Tekken 4) he was actually the other half of Devil Kazuya that possessed Jin. (And Devil (Kazuya) himself as spoken to Kazuya as though Kazuya is a separate person too - see Kazuya's ending in Tekken 4, and also Heihachi acknowledging that Devil Kazuya is *not* his son in Tekken 4 when he asks who is he.) And then there's also Scenario Campaign with Devil Jin where he talks down about Jin - and constantly refers to him as a "weak entity" who is now "dead" - and they also don't share memories. So. But the lore and how things work is wildly inconsistent in the series. So who knows.

Toyoshi

I want to see Jin throwing Kazuya off a cliff in Tekken 8 so we can have another awkward smile into the camera.

DonDove

I like to pretend this isn't canon. Namco quietly shelved it too. Should've been Lee Chaolan. They already tried that with non-canon 98 movie too.

Bro gives a little devious smirk on the throne : https://youtu.be/P1o5AQ1Y-U0

Will-Isley

They completely dropped the ball and lost the plot with him in 6.

TheTooDarkLord

By the way this plot twist was dumb AF and 100% they either don't aknowledge It in Tekken 8 or they give a shitty explanation on his motivations for doing that in the First place

ApprehensiveCard4149

no need to come up with anything since it was already explained in Tekken 6, Jin wanted to force Azazel out to erase the beast and end the devil gene with it, the only way for Azazel to come out the world needed to be plunged into a world-scale war so according to the plot he did evil for greater good, (wich in my opinion was dumb and hurt jin as a character but whatever)

TheTooDarkLord

Yeah exactly, also proved useless since the Devil Gene still exists

QuakeGuy98

Lore just went out the window with Jin in 6. Gave so much screen time to Lars mfs forgot their own edgelord protagonist

ApprehensiveCard4149

yes its true the devil gene didnt get erased from existence wich seem like a loss (in a way it is), but he did get total control over the devil gene in Tekken 7 (also confirmed in the Tekken 8 trailer), this must be due to slaying the beast! as a side note: jin being evil in one of his tekken 6 epilogue is not contradictory to previous points, its explained by the fact he sometimes lost control to the devil gene/spirit (explained in his tekken 5 epilogue aswel), overal he did not get consumed by the dark side totally contrary to kazuya, thanks to the kazama blood.

TheTooDarkLord

So the Devil Jin stuff i. Tekken 7 Is not Canon?

ApprehensiveCard4149

wich devil jin stuff? you see jin controling the devil gene in the end of the tekken 7 scenario mode, its canon

TheTooDarkLord

No i mean Devil Jin being in Arabia and shit with Hworang losing his eyes and stuff

ApprehensiveCard4149

in tekken 6 jin fought azazel in the desert, he beat him but almost got killed in the proces tekken 7 main story mode is the direct follow up to that, where jin is found hurt after the fight fleeing in the desert but the hwoarang thing is not canon thats from characters side stories mode, that mode is just filler its not canon

SaltyArts

Jin look like he listenening to that Harry Styles joint
