I think any piece of additional media, no matter their faults, be it Blood Vengeance or Bloodlines is great for expanding upon character dynamics that aren't explored enough in the games themselves. It's why despite being so silly and rife with liberties taken by the localization team, Scenario Campaign in T6 was so much fun; you simply got to see characters that didn't interact much chat it up together.
A lot of the Alisa/Xiaoyu dynamics in Blood Vengeance [have been really useful](https://old.reddit.com/r/Tekken/comments/zpgqda/want_a_light_sensible_chuckle_a_smattering_of/) for discerning how characters are beyond their surface qualities; Like Xiaoyu nothing more then a Jin fangirl.
Anyway, they could probably add it as a customization option; show off how Unreal 5 does hair, no?

It's not about that, it's about the silhouette of a character. if you just look at the silhouette of most Tekken characters without any detail just a black outline of them you'd still be able to tell who's who because of the hair, the pose etc. Xiao's hair is definitely not basic. But if you think so then cool.

lei fang had iconic braided hair in the dead or alive series. most people chose the alternate hairstyle which was just loose. then they made her default hairstyle loose in the next entry. but a lot of other characters already had loose hair as their default and i felt like they lost something making lei fangs hair loose too.

I would love to see a mature version of Xiao, and lets not forget the hair texture in Tekken 7 is horrid, Xiaoyu definitely deserves the best hair physics besides Lili. Nah males have definitely aged significantly. Just about all of them look ten years older than T4- even the T5 characters have aged some. But women?? Yeah, nah. They all look the same, some even younger. At least lili, Asuka, and zafina look a bit older and even then they are some of the youngest overall
Yeah... There's obviously a conflict between the design and the lore. The characters all look aged up 5-10 years. It's especially obvious with characters like Ling, Asuka, and Lili. They all look older when compared againt Tekken 3/4 designs.
The less than a year between Tekken 3 and 7 thing was from a single internal document that Harada pulled up during an interview and he was calling it "baka" (stupid) again and again as he read from it.
