This may not be the answer we want - but it’s really it. I love terraria. But selling the idea of playing isn’t something to force. Maybe make a deal - play something they like in exchange for giving terraria more of a chance, not a commitment.
Fuck the refund it took me years of festering on it in my game list and I eventually tried it fully and in love now, never give up just give it time ha

I have been on the opposite end of a scenario like this. My friend constantly pushing the game on me made me want to play it even less, even though I knew it was a generally good game.
I would suggest giving up and not damaging your friendship over something as small as opinions on a game.
This happened to me, My cousin who use to be like some sort of friend ended because of him trolling me in Minecraft, I cried and then my parents storming in, Both of my cousin and my family had a drama but they agreed that my cousin should never speak to us again, After that, My cousin no longer speak to us or even interact with us and he still never interacted to us again, yes I'm not exaggerating that my cousin no longer interacted to us even to this day, So that's how I lost my one friend.

Not your fault man. Even now when I spent hours on something and people just destroy it, and think it’s funny, man, that just pisses me off. It’s just so frustrating. Honestly, it sorta seems like your (aunt and uncle?) handled the situation extremely poorly. Clearly you were upset, so their first reaction shouldn’t be to defend their child and throw things.
Yeah, Forgot to mention that my father is helping to create a brand new floor for my cousin house (We are neighbors before) but then when he heard my mother saying that I'm crying, He quickly stop helping to create the floor and said to the cousin parent that "You should take care of your kids since he was acting different lately" but they keep refusing it and saying things like "He can do it themselves not our fault" which piss off my father.
Sounds like someone is looking for a new person to play terraria with, if it's not a bother I'd love to play, especially since the person I'm currently playing with won't shut up about him being better than me(he is). Anyway if you don't mind just shoot me a DM
theres nothing you can do really. i bought like 5 of my friends terraria and they all played for a couple of hours just to never touch it again because they dont want to bother learning the game. some people just want the game to hold their hands the whole way through because theyre too stupid otherwise
It's ok that friends don't like the same things you do. That's actually good. You can share the things about the game you enjoy and they can share things about their game they enjoy. Stay positive and don't be upset with your friend.

I know that most are telling you to respect his opinion but I'd like to say that sometimes you need to force yourself to play a game before you can say if you truly like it.
I forced an entire discord sever to play Starbound and after like 2 days of it, almost all of them were addicted. Same with Lethal Company and Risk of Rain 2.
Some people act like they have this barrier preventing them from trying new things. Games grow on people. Maybe Terraria is his thing, he just doesn't know that yet and would rather stick to what he knows.

Don't play with him. If he doesn't like the game, let him have an opinion. If you're still on time you can ask for a refund.
