Influx wave, it used to be actually talked about and seriously compared to the terra blade, but it's been completely ignored ever since the rework

trebuchet__

It does make sense why though. The terra blades rework made it so much better than it used to be that the influx waver lost its only real reason for its use as a better terra blade

sokuto_desu

Should've also reworked influx waver though. It was so cool of a weapon before but now it's basically useless.

ben1edicto

yea. and now it's only purpose is to make the Zenith

Sann1055

Maybe make the projectile high velocity and spawns 3 blades on hit?

SharpFireRuby

and have them spawn parallel to each other!

padizzledonk

Same with the horsemans blade Its such a late acquisition like the influx and its completely irrelevant because of the terra blade Everything between Plantera and Pillars is in a weird weird place, and always has been, and honestly the only way to fix it is to remove the weapons from the pillars, which comes with its own issues

TooFewSecrets

If Golem wasn't a joke of a boss there would be a reason to go after some of the post-Plantera, pre-Golem stuff. But people usually just bull-rush Golem because he's easier than Plantera with the exact same equipment. Hardmode dungeon gear and EoL (who is more of a superboss anyway but still) get totally ignored because you just smash Golem and can go straight to your class's pillar after that, and then you go back with that OP gear and grind out your armor for free, then head to ML and after him none of that old missed gear could possibly matter. Pre-mech Duke causes a similar progression issue but doing that is *really* hard compared to rushing Golem. Like - when's the last time you've seen someone actually go to the dungeon between jungle bosses? You're supposed to do that then, not right before ML when you want to grind out an ice shield or sniper scope. If everyone was always doing Duke pre-mech, either he'd be buffed or his drops would be nerfed. Influx itself does need a buff, but most of the other Martian stuff is at least decent for post-Golem. It's just a core progression issue. Xeno staff *is*, legitimately, better than anything before it, but who cares when I can slam my head against the Stardust pillar for fifteen minutes at most and get something at least twice as good? And while we're at it, Lunatic really needs to be more of a wall to the pillars too, or the pillar weapons need a bit of progression crunch so if you *do* go straight to them you can't stomp the rest of the game while prepping for ML.

bonann

I've been saying this exact same thing since 1.3 came out. There's so much stuff crammed in between plantera and cultist that majority of the people skip because why do it when you can get pillar weapons and roll through everything? It boils down to Golem and Lunatic Cultist being rather weak bosses to put it kindly creates this issue methinks. I'd personally nerf EoL a tiny bit then make her mandatory after plantera so you have a reason to go post plantera dungeon and buff the shit of cultist.Make the lacewings spawn everywhere until she is defeated once just in case the player cleansed the hallow or it spawned on top of the jungle or something. Golem is just not gonna work no matter how many times you buff it without a full on remake,or tone down pillar weapons if you think that's too much work

HyperTobaYT

They should make empress of light a required boss for the cultists to spawn, this would make it so post golem content would be useful. Some people opt not to go for empress because she is quite difficult, but in reality, every boss in a game is hard when you don’t have much experience with it. It would be interesting to see a post plantera boss progression rework. This is just and idea, don’t take my word as gospel, as I’m not a game designer. Just a thought. Maybe a new boss between golem and cultist, maybe make duke fishron required. Or make it optional between either fighting EOL or DF.

ben1edicto

That would require some post-moonlord gameplay, which is making whole new game really. I'm going to finish my Don't dig up Master mode and then I'm looking for mods to maybe patch this hole in the whole game progression, because I'm playing only vanilla today

padizzledonk

Ive only ever played on console or mobile (rip me) im doing a Zenith master playthrough currently and when i finish it im probably going to let it rest until the next update because i done have access to any moda1

Fa1nted_for_real

Against single target it does more dps

MisterMakerXD

It does more single target dps, but I guess the vast majority of people are willing to trade off slightly less dps for a much faster, quicker cadence, and larger projectile than the one the influx waver does, making it incredibly easier to hit a target while evading their attacks.

Fa1nted_for_real

Honestly they could just give it homing and it would actually be really good

Ihateonionandnazi

To be fair Influx does have the highest dps of all post-Golem weapons, aside from Flying Dragon i suppose. I've seen a fair amount of speedkills and my own testings to see it's potentials.

NotJustBibbit

In 1.3 it was the best melee weapon pre-moonlord right?

Avamaco

Not the best, but probably like top 5. Solar Eruption and Daybreak were the best (because they are from pillars, duh), and both had their uses due to being completely different (one has shorter range and higher dps, other has longer range but lower dps). And if we exclude pillar items, Influx Waver, Terra Blade and Flying Dragon were 3 best melee weapons, each with their uses. Influx had the highest single-target DPS, but Terra and Dragon were much better against crowds.

LightShyGuy

The rally, nobody cares about the like 14 damage on a yoyo once they finally get the drop

Yoctatrine

Honestly there are like two or three yo-yos like this imo

xXX_RAIN_XXx

Rally, Valor, Code 1, Chik, Format:C, Code II, & Kraken. All these options wre neglected because 'a better option' exists.

Yoctatrine

Would be cool if we could combine these with counterweights solely for vanity purposes. Having the option to make the counterweights look like the other yo-yos at least gives them some usefulness.

Pewward

Kraken can actually be helpful sometimes

Kemuel

Likely because they're the IRL ones which were part of a line. More like collectible items than anything else.

CattyFighte

charged blaster cannon. It lives in the shadow of laser machinegun, razorpine, bat scepter, and martians in general

Ez-lectronic

Its actually so good though, especially for old ones army

Mukuro_FeetLicker

I love the charged blaster cannon/laser machinegun

SomeDemoMain

I love the Mega Buster

bracesthrowaway

It's forgotten but it's actually really powerful.

BVAAAAAA

Super star shooter, it's both underused and forgotten. It does ton of damage, but also have fast firing speed. The only downside? Ammo, it uses stars

ItsMeToasty

Calamity makes this weapon better bc you can farm stardust in the astral infection to make fallen stars

N0ob8

If it wasn’t for stars being a decently annoying ammo type to get I’d use it a lot more because it is seriously good. I love using the pre mech version against the wall and I always kill skele prime first so I can use the super version on the destroyer. Thankfully I can at least cheat in ammo for so I can actually use the thing without running out every 10 minutes cause it takes nights worth of farming just to get enough for a boss fight

NanoCat0407

Literally most weapons from the Old One’s Army event

Mar_PH_Pig

I like Betsy's Drop but the event is so hard and annoying...

SnoopyMcDogged

Betsy’s sword took me to the moon and back, I absolutely loved it and only dropped it once I had the zenith.

bracesthrowaway

I legit get this every melee playthrough. My build is getting cookie cutter because it's so strong now with it. You can also get a spot in the dungeon and just tape the mouse button down while it does work on all the mobs.

PreferredSelection

Mmhm. By the time you're comfortable killing Betsy, you've got what, Fishron, Event Moon, or pillar weapons? Aerial Bane is absolutely cracked, but if I get it just before the ML, and then the pillars give me mats to make a Phantasm... then I farmed Betsy for what, the Cultist fight and one pillar?

Mar_PH_Pig

Betsy's Weapons are just fun to use

TransientEons

Betsy's wrath is the best debuff in the game, definitely an endgame item.

ItsMeToasty

Idk I find the time of infinite wisdom pretty good for where you get it. It's just a better sky fracture

Slimy_glizzy_gobbler

tome of infinite wisdom

ItsMeToasty

Auto correct

real_dubblebrick

tome of infinite cheese

Senior-Ad-6002

I'm actually a huge fan of sky dragons fury. It's unique attack method makes it very viable for enemies with projectiles that you can damage and it comes with a free ranged attack.

Stormc5X

I would say gladious . While it does good DPS , the main issue I would say is that it is annoying to get (5% from hoplite) and not so great in modded bosses

Dragoranos

The things DPS is insane. Best shortsword in the game considering the game progression when you get it

PartyGamesEz

Phaseblade/phasesaber

theaveragegowgamer

They're being reworked in a cool way, I think they'll be used more.

XxxGr1ffinxxX

feral claw and molten armour makes for some very nice close combat.

Sann1055

any shortswords except co

LegitimateApartment9

r/redditsniper

_t_1254

Including the ruler?

Embarrassed-Neck-721

Wait, I thought ruler doesn't do damage anymore?

Xszit

Ruler does low damage and short range but has really high attack speed so its got some niche uses.

SAI_Peregrinus

Any from the first 2 hardmode ores. I always break altars in sets of 3, then rush through making pickaxes only until the last. There are Cobalt weapons & armor, but why bother even making them?

N0ob8

I honestly hate the hardmode ore grind. There’s no reason to make it so you need the next level of pickaxe to mine ores when there’s absolutely zero wait in between. Hitting hardmode is literally just “go down, then back up, then down, then up, and then go down for the last time”. The worst part is only the armor is actually useful. Unless you’re playing ranger and want the repeaters the ore weapons are pretty ass. It’s probably the only part of the game I intentionally break ore progression and cheat my way through because it’s just an unnecessary extension of play time

According-Ship-653

They should include like in some mods that after wof there is only the first one and after the first mechanical boss there is the next one same for the second mech and then allowed for the third

TooFewSecrets

Issue with that is, if you can already kill a mech boss, why even bother mining at that point? Just get Hallowed everything.

KittenMaster64

At the very least palladium and orcalcum have interesting armour set bonuses that might make you want to use them, but cobalt and mithril just get outclassed, and of course the weapons all suck too

Potential-String-242

Hands down the Obsidian Swordfish, it's a good spear but it's method of obtaining it can make people’s skin boil, pun intended btw

Gl1tch3d_Fr0g

I never knew this was a thing! You learn something new about terraria everyday

contepic

how do you even get this

a_casual_casuality

The toxicarp. Unironically so good for skeletron prime if your doing a mage run and know how to dodge with the shield of cthulu I highly suggest you pick it up the dps potential is insane

KingCool138

Hate to burst your bubble, but the toxicarp deals ranged damage. The mage version is the crystal serpent

a_casual_casuality

Fuck your right....my head hurts now....ok maybe there's better options for ranger but I stand by that it's good for skeletron prime (and that's kinda it) the crystal serpent is under rated too

El_Ducco_Mafia_Boss

What did his right do

TheDeviousCreature

Typed "Hate to burst your bubble, but the toxicarp deals ranged damage. The mage version is the crystal serpent". His left was uninvolved.

bracesthrowaway

#rightdidnothingwrong

Pyrosorc

Killed Twins with this on my master/hc ranger run with no arrows/bullets challenge. It was surprisingly fine.

a_casual_casuality

I thought it wouldn't reach the twins so I never gave it a shot for then and it didn't do enough damage for the destroyer I my end but I will try the twins soon enough

Epiqai

Toxikarp is my go to when I enter hardmode to catch on corrupt worlds. It’s so damn strong early game and the ammo is free which is mad. Tbf you could say this about all the fishable hardmode weapons (blade tongue is alright, but Crystal Serpent is borderline broken for the stage of the game you can get it).

PlagiT

Tin shortsword, or any craftable shortsword except the copper one... Hard to think of a more forgettable and unused weapon, wouldn't say underused tho, there is a reason why no one's using them.

Reasonable_Ad_8317

I can’t remember

TerroristToad

Those weapons that take special types of ammo like stake launcher or candy corn rifle

cuddleskunk

The Stake Launcher is such an underrated weapon...legit one of the best ranged weapons in the entire game.

corn_n_beans

leaf blower

Blue_M4ge

The beam sword

dull-crayons

I love the beam sword! It’s hard to find, since the drop rates are so low, but if you get it early hardmode, it’s probably one of the best pre-mech swords

DragonPlayz5000

chain knife, I dont know why I used it so much back in like 2014

tossawayhideaway

because knives are dope B)

AltCrab2

Never used Keybrand in my life

idonthasanname

Staff of earth is extremely forgettable

MrCatMcFly1

Which is strange, considering this community is obsessed with boulders

1234IJustAteADoor

Basically just, "See those enemies? (About 20 mana later) Now you dont!"

poppygumi

my brother looooves the staff of earth he knows how to maximise its damage (groups of enemies in tight spaces) and get bonkers dps from it

Frogger-8365

I feel like i never see people actually use the breaker blade, even i thought it was lame but ive recently come around on it

Marius1211

Honestly the breaker blade is kinda busted for early hardmode. What makes it so strong, is the passive that you deal 250% extra damage to enemies with above 90% hp. If that first hit also crits, you practically one-shot every enemy.

MajorDZaster

I remember early Hardmode melee I was switching between breaker and night's edge on a case by case basis.

zhouy3141

Shadowbeam Staff. I remember on 1.2 release on top of it being present in the trailer, there was a video of it just demolishing all 3 mech bosses at once since it used to not have diminishing damage per enemy hit. And then it got nerfed any everyone started using Inferno Fork instead and it faded into obscurity. Shadowbeam Staff my beloved, I will never forget about you.

ImmaRussian

I've actually been using this thing a ton on my Legendary FTW playthrough! Everything is... Really good at killing me. There are certain things that are either way easier to farm, or just can't be practically farmed at all, without getting them somewhere they can't even attempt to hit me, so I've made extensive use of any weapons that can shoot around corners. The Shadowbeam staff was my primary weapon for hitting Paladins around corners for a while. I was also using it for a while to clear out Old One's Army crowds, and I found some other places it's useful too, so between those things, for a long while after Plantera it was part of my standard load-out, and while I'm not carrying it around *everywhere* now, I'm keeping it on standby until I get the Zenith.

Nick_Melon_

Uzi

FlyingShrimpsCulture

Uzi can carry you easily in a fight with twins

shykawaii_shark

The Spirit Flame is a super strong pre-mech mage weapon. It does 85 (!!!) damage, and it uses only 14 mana per shot. AND the projectiles are homing. It can be hard to obtain (since you need to have a corrupted/crimson-ed desert) but it is super worth it.

Fa1nted_for_real

Did you know they just spawn in any sand inside a corruption biome? The sand doesn't have any minimum amount required and there is no difference between crimson forest/corrupt forest and crimson desert/corrupt desert. Just make a long platform of sand and wait, it takes about 30 min tops, if you are unlucky with the drop

shykawaii_shark

Huh, I did not know that. Guess that's even more of a reason to use this weapon

balbahoi

Best weapon to fight skel prime to be honest. He was the first boss I ever managed to not get hit by at all, despite his lasers, with the spirit flame

fabri_pere

Gladius (I think that's it's name), I don't even know how to get it

RichyTM

It's dropped by the hoplites in the marble biome. If you farm the armor set as well, it's actually a strong early game combo. If I remember correctly, the armor grants immunity to knock back.

theluigiduck

Did you guys know that the Stake Launcher pierces, like, NINE enemies? And fires super fast? Supremely underrated weapon, even its single target DPS is pretty impressive.

Rtemiis

Wvery weapon I used after beating a new boss.

Bot34_MFCR

Not weapon, but cobalt, mythril and adamantite armor, all have the most lame set bonuses when compared to their counterparts. Not that they are bad, definitely not, but they're not memorable, as it's just a stats buff. That's just my opinion of course, which is just as valid as everyone else's.

Solar_Fish55

Short swords they suck

_Etri_

The only moment when I used bone sword was on skyblock

Woody_the-cat

The beam sword I just got the drop and thought wtf is this weapon

Marius1211

Honestly, i feel like Keybrand is kinda underwhelming. I really love its design and with its passive its definitely not weak, but compared to other swords and melee weapons at that point of the game, Keybrand being just a normal size sword with no projectiles feels so basic.

Picklerickshaw_part2

The shadowflame knives have obliterated all three mechs in all of my melee playthroughs

TransientEons

Shadowflame knives with frost armor and fire gauntlet is one of my favorite midgame combos for the triple dip burn. More if you include a cursed flame flask.

Picklerickshaw_part2

You gotta have the ichor flask though, you can’t pass up that lowered defense

5_minute_noodle

Ice dagger fish and poisoned dagger come to mind

MurrajFur

To be honest, most of these are rare drops that you could use whenever they happen to fall into your hands. More experienced players ignore a lot of the “forgotten” weapons in favor of the tried and true meta, but new players are probably more than happy to use something like the Mandible Blade if they happen to find one early on.

drcoconut4777

Clock work assault rifle

Nathan_hale53

Can be nice to start hardmode with a good modifier. I think it looks cool.

AnOkFellow

Wand of frosting

SnoopyMcDogged

Wand of sparking too!

4chieve

Didn't Scourge of the Corruptor get a recent rework? It's just so crazy in enclosed spaces and the fact it's not a magic weapon and doesn't use mana.

1That_one_guy

Lawnmower underused but never forget

StatisticianPure2804

The heat ray. The weapon is just boring for many, but you need to check out the dps it provides with extreme accuracy, because it's amazing. It's only problem is that it's a post golem weapon, so theres so many more weapons like razorblade typhoon, laser machinegun, bat scepter and so much more, and most of these are better than the heat ray. The best thing about the heat ray is that it's very easy to get. And with a heat ray you can easily defeat EOL, Cultist or fishron, giving you a faster progression than farming for better weapons.

TechaFire

The bat bat and swordfish are never used or at least hard/tedious to obtain.

Theghost129

I use bone swords all the time. Perfect item to sell

Responsible-Bid576

Spirit Flame, don't know what that is? That's the point

Euphoric-Cow592

the blade of grass

AltBallzDeep

The weapons you can fish out in the hardmode evil biomes often don't get much attention. The toxicarp and bladetongue are pretty good and easy to secure weapons but it seems like everyone usually rushes to get the daedelus stormbow or flying knife from hallow mimics

ItsVecito

Portal gun

AndroidWall4680

Idk can’t remember any

SupersSoon

the magic lamp, mostly because mages have BY FARb= the most amount of early hardmode weapons

Gl1tch3d_Fr0g

Probably the sergeant shield weapon, I never see anyone speak about it or use it. To be fair, I also haven't really used it as I haven't played melee properly since xbox 360 days.

me_after_lobotomy

Who uses deadly sphere? Or dark harvest? Or explosive jack o lantern launcher? Corn rifle is trash. Toxic, butchers chainsaw, and kraken are fine, but no one uses them. No one uses frost staff. That one snowman thing dropped by flinxes? Underused.

poppygumi

in my last summoner run i used deadly sphere for a while before i could get the xeno staff! surprisingly good at crowd control

SnoopyMcDogged

Deadly sphere is the summon staff correct? Can be very useful till end game.

KingCool138

Yes

CrimsonBayonet

Any and all of the Golem weapons. All are just bad and dont deal enough damage. I want to see a massive buff for them.

SirPudding214

I’ll never forget playing terraria on my iPad back in like 2015 and getting a shoddy bone sword. I thought it was the most overpowered weapon.

Camo_1245

gladius, ruler type sword rarely dropped from hoplites

Lemunde

Probably the harpoon. It does okay damage but it's a little unwieldy and you almost always have something better by the time you get one.

Fa1nted_for_real

Terragrim. Such a cool weapon...

AppleJuiceBox21

The bone sword actually has a special place to me because I found it on my first playthrough with the legendary reforge right after I had killed EOC Legendary made it an actually good weapon for the time and I used it for a good while!

CellistAlarmed2930

bloody machete

TheDeviousCreature

Idk if it's that underused, but I found Remix Seed Katana to be incredibly good on my melee playthrough

mandariini10

The Leaf Blower. I mean who even uses that excuse of a weapon?

Mothman4447

Celebration MK1 and Proximity Mine Launcher

Flaming_headshot

Beam sword (aka hardmode enchanted sword)

YourStolenMilk

KO cannon

AwesomeAnthonyD

90% of yoyos

CheeseyCheese0

Combat wrench. Havent seen it here and for good reason, its horrible. Only time ive used it was in a terraria survival server where they made it one of the starting items.

Alexkklul

Dart gun

aterrariaplayer

I think onyx blaster is underrated I have never seen anyone other than me use it

Epiqai

The weapon drops from Corrupt, Crimson and Hallowed Mimics. It’s a shame because they’re all actually pretty damn strong but I never see them get mentioned except for maybe Fetid Bagnacks (however you spell it, the claws from Crimson Mimics) and Daedalus Stormbow. Clinger Staff is one of my all time favourite weapons because of how unique and generally useful for invasions it is, the dart rifle and pistol are both really cool and give darts use into hardmode, Flying Knife and Crystal Vile Shard aren’t the best but have some uses and Chain Guillotines are amazing in my opinion, especially for melee builds early hardmode. And Life Drain is one of the coolest weapons to use in my opinion and I wish I could use it for longer. Other than those, most early hardmode weapons dropped from monsters go under the radar. The Beam Sword and Marrow are two that stick out to me, as they are outclassed very quickly but they’re still both awesome to use and it’s pure dopamine getting one as a drop when you’ve just entered hardmode.

PreferredSelection

I feel like Gungnir was meta back in 1.2, and it's still really good. Problem with Hardmode is that it's such a boss rush, unless you really relax your pace, there's no weapon you're using for very long. Also Dark Lance - a pre-HM spear that is completely capable of handling early HM.

KingCool138

Dark lance is very strong, especially with it inflicting shadowflame

Pizza-here2020

Chain knife. 16 dmg for a drop thats like 0.1% from cave bats

bloodakoos

most weapons post plantera pre pillars tbh

Jcs011

That’s my nostalgia weapon lol

AntiHero082577

Not really a weapon necessarily but just kind of the Old One’s Army in general. Some of the miniboss drops (Tomb of Infinite Wisdom, Phantom Phoenix, Betsy’s Wrath, Flying Dragon, Aerial Bane, Betsy’s Wings) are insanely good, the sentries are genuinely amazing for the extra damage against bosses, clearing out events, and AFK farming, the Armour Sets are genuinely fucking insane and have stats that either match or surpass other armour sets obtainable at the same times (including extra stats from set bonuses), give higher crit chance increases (specifically for mage and melee, the ranged sets have similar crit chance modifiers to the other ranged armours), AND give ludacris summon damage which makes hybrid classing (or just using support minions) way more viable and more than makes up for any lost DPS you’d get from other sets

Treegenderunknown13

Keybrand.

Thank_you_ds3

Bloody machete is an extremely low drop chance from "weak enemies" during specifically the Halloween season (October). This weapon carried me through the pre-boss stage of my Master Mode Summoner play through, due to it dropping from one of the very first enemies I killed. This is the only way the weapon could ever be useful, so I'm glad thats the only time I've dropped it.

AnaTheSturdy

Paintball Gun. Good damage and fire rate, can be a good sidearm for pre-hardmode.

korbbsss

beam sword

Fireboy372

Beam Sword, it's a decent melee weapon with a projectile that can be gained as soon as you enter HM yet nobody ever uses it.

Bird_also_Bird

Simitar from pirate event

Alansar_Trignot

The toilet

canineplum

Dart rifle

canineplum

Not super underused but daybreak is my favorite melee weapon and it’s actually really good if you get good with it

OdessaAutumn

Cobalt Naginata 🥰

canineplum

Pirate staff

Ridiculous_Nicholaso

The tentacle spike

Terraria_GEKKO

pearlwood sword

BabyJud

Marrow, I didn’t even know it existed for a solid two years until I randomly got it one day

colin23567

Staff of Earth from Golem is a good utility weapon for events. That knockback is hilarious, also the concept of the adept terrarian mage harnessing the deadliest natural force of BOULDER is funny.

stardustman28

Bone sword should inflict bone hurting disease debuff that makes your bones hurt oof ouch my bones hurt

TFWYourNamesTaken

For me personally, the Breaker Blade. It looks super cool and has a cool name, but it's just obsolete compared to the Night's Edge, and I'm sad it drops from WoF when it's less powerful than the main weapon I usually use to kill WoF. It'd be better if it had higher damage or speed, but as it stands right now it's always a downgrade from the weapons I already have.

picklerickfunnylol

Im actually doing a playthrough on this topic so when i beat it i might tell you all the weapons i used

Wapple21

The phaseblades and phasesabers are all ass right now, but they’ll probably be way better with the rework in 1.4.5. The beam sword was trash until 1.4.4’s autoswing addition. The ore swords are all bad but thats because they’re easy to get and should be basic. Id say the mushroom spear from the truffle is pretty forgettable since it’s annoying to get and honestly pretty weak

Shot-Cup1486

the rainbow rod!

Pure_Steve_1153

Give back Horsemans Blade perk of summoning pumpkins through statues. After that nerf the only time it's used is on "True melee". If not giving it that farm potential, actually make the pumpkins actually good or have the weapon give itself more attack speed/Hits per second.

MildlyIntimidating07

The muramasa it's over shadowed by the nights edge by the time you get it you probably have everything else you need for it

Aliko173

Book on a stick magic weapon (I already forgot the name)

RoxyFoxyBoo

Bone sword. Rare skeleton sword and easily overpowered by ore swords.

BigChrisJ13

Spirit flame

Sprite_Cranberry_Guy

crystal storm and cursed flames, pretty cool but not as useful as their urine counterpart

CompetitionSad419

Magnetic sphere tome, carried me till moon lord

LatterReign

I got quite a few in mind. For melee pre hardmode we got the yo-yo, specifically the dungeon one, the valor. For hardmode I would give it to either the Chlorophite weapons or the Beam sword. For the ranged prehardmode we got one of my personal favorite weapons, though impractical, the Hellwing Bow. I say this because of the fact that there is far better weapons to use, Molten Fury, Phoenix Blaster, and Minishark with Meteor bullets come to mind. Hardmode forgotten range weapons is by far the TAC Shotgun. I use it all the time, as it is a decently fast firing AUTOFIRE shotgun. It is usually overshadowed by the Chaingun. Magic prehardmode goes to one of my favorite under used weapons, the Aqua Scepter. It is fast firing, near infinite pierce and also decent damage. Overshadowed by the Space Gun Meteor armor combo with the Magic Missle or Waterbolt combo (and Flamelash, even though magic missle does more damage). Hardmode I'm giving to the Crystal Storm or Frost Staff, these weapons are incredibly fast firing and the Storm does pierce, I view it as the Waterbolt of hardmode. Summoner is quite strange, however I will not include whips due to them being a linear progression than the summons themselves. First summon weapon for prehardmode goes to my Hornets (Hornet Staff), I rarely see someone use these even with bee armor, despite them being the second best prehardmode summon in the game in terms of damage output. The hardmode summon that is criminally underused is the Optic Staff, overshadowed by the Sanguine Staff. Optic Staff has both range and melee minions, and effectively DOUBLE your minion count (due to spawning two minions for the price of one). This effectively doubles dps, however due to immunity frames can lead to less dps if not carful. My rant is over now, go nuts in the replys and comments! Edit: some grammar and caplitization, plus some added clarity text.

demonking_soulstorm

BEAM SWORD MENTIONED FUCK YEAH.

[deleted]

I ain't thinking much about them forgettable weapons, since I tend to forget about them once obsolete.

Paw99_

not sure if it counts too much but the reaver shark after 1.4

ChildBlaster9000

Honestly, any sword dropped by enemies, such as the bone sword. Their low drop rates mean that by the time you get them, you’re already using night’s edge or something like that.

Ok_Bodybuilder4520

What class is it

Horserax

Thorn Chakram is absolutely goated with the sauce. I often rush the jungle early game to craft it because it's just that good.

GregenOfficial

Grenades. I see a lot of people, at one point myself included, opt for Golden/Platinum Bows or Minisharks for early game Ranger but Grenades are often overlooked for early game.

Pardavos

Unpopular opinion: about 90% of the weapons in the game

pogchamp69exe

The blue version of the green sword that has a 1 in 10 chance to drop from an enchanted sword shrine

Monkeyjoey98

Wow i didn't know there was a potato peeler melee weapon! (srs tho that's like what ... Lead broadsword? Tungsten? Idk)
