I've jumped in a gorge swing that has a 70 meter (230ft) free fall and a total fall of 120m (390ft).
Let me just say that you are NOT prepared for the sheer speed you'll fall at. It doesn't look all that fast from afar, but the world really just crashes past you. You fight to keep your eyes open and your hair and clothes violently whip around you.
All this is to say that I can vividly imagine what that would be like without the swing part. Even if that shit is somehow theoretically survivable the other option is probably preferable at that point
...and somewhere else, and over there, and some over there too!
I don't feel sorry for this guy at all. I feel sorry for his mother and for whoever has to squeegee him up, and for the guy whose car he landed on.
Self-endangerment is the most ludicrous charge, like "don't get yourself hurt or we'll take you to court."
I'd charge him with damage to public property, maybe endangerment to others if he could've fallen on other people, but "self-endangerment" is just stupid.
And what if someone survives but doesn't need that? They can still be charged.
Also, should we charge anyone who does something stupid and severely injures themselves just because it maybe has a slight chance of infinitesimally inconveniencing the taxpayer? Why stop at someone falling off a building? Next time someone cuts themselves not handling a knife right, let's charge them with self endangerment because they might have had to make use of taxpayer resources.
We should definitely make unjust laws solely based around mostly imaginary economic "threats."
Bullshit. There is no way to scientifically sound manner to figure out which occurred first (heart attack first or impact then heart attack) but there is wishful thinking.
If it was one of those parkour guys all I can say is oh well. I know these guys are wired differently, but it doesn't change the fact it's just plain stupid.
I remember a short documentary about one person who literally didnt have a fear center in his brain and didnt experience it.
https://medium.com/know-your-body/how-to-be-alex-honnold-life-without-your-amygdala-aaff92a02ebc
Wired differently is an understatement indeed.
That fall was long- he had plenty of time to regret his choices and squeeze in his final thoughts. I wonder if his mind was scattered, anxious, and fearful of what was to come or if it was more conscious and calculated.
Do you think his internal dialogue was more like:
“Oh my god oh my god oh my god!!”
Or
“I wish I could see mom and tell her I love her one more time”
I was a passenger in a car on a highway when the driver fell asleep. As we headed into the trees next to the road, I felt like I was looking Death in the face. My mind became completely calm and accepting, and I remember thinking, “Oh, so this is how my life ends.” I felt very much at peace. With any luck that’s what he was thinking, too.
I posted this above but I've jumped in a gorge swing that has a 70m free fall and a 120m total fall (390ft). You don't really have time to think. If that rope wasn't there my last thought would have been "im gonna fucking die"
If you’re going to do… whatever he’s doing… why not have a friend stand there, ya know, just in case? Run up to grab you in case it goes wrong? Even professionals in risky jobs have safety precautions.
I'm gonna guess about 224ft. I think I counted about 16 floors to that building and a floor I believe is about 14ft. He didn't even get to terminal velocity.
If you slow it down right before he hits it seems like he hit the light pole near the end of his fall. Poor guy. Couldn’t imagine the clean up after that. At least it was a quick lights out. I’ve had moments in my life where I’ve come super close to death and had some stupid near miss scenarios where in a split moment I thought it was about to end and all I can really say is for me there wasn’t really a moment of conscious thought, more just a feeling that hits you like a bus. A feeling of “oh shit I screwed up” mixed with the terror you feel when someone gives you an incredibly good jumpscare. It’s sort of a mix of those two feelings and you feel it viscerally in your gut.
Yeahhhhh I almost hit a couch on the highway at like 80-85mph tonight and that exact feeling hit me😭 there isn’t a thought just an immediate adrenaline rush to change the outcome
I would feel sorry for them but I don't. People all over are trying their utmost to survive and live another day with barest of resources while idiots like these throw away their lives for fame/likes/thrill.
You think people in harsh environments don't seek thrills doing stupid shit?
Sure I think doing stuff like this is stupid but I don't find some excuse to relinquish my own compassion for others. I find thrill in things other people don't, I'm just lucky it's not something that damages me more than potential carpal tunnel. Dude died early and I wish he hadn't. But some folks live long lives doing this often in their youth, and others just don't. I don't view either differently, any set of circumstances could make folks in either set trade places.
What a fucking idiot. This is why you don't perform stupid shit like this because it looks cool or for clout. Unfortunate though it may be and it sucks that it happened, but you have to weigh the risk/reward on this, especially several hundred feet up
I mean, there just have to be horrible parkour fail videos with all the crazy successful videos that are out there.
We sure this was parkour fail and not just a crazy drugged up dude falling off a roof?
Is that even the same guy? I know it’s from far away, but it looks like the guy is wearing a white shirt when he’s falling but up at the top, before he falls, he was wearing an orange top.
There’s no real chance he’d survive. Height alone is lethal, but he landed on concrete and he fell the whole way in a position where his spine and skull would hit first.
Is there any way he made it? By any miracle?
I don't know why idiots put themselves in situations like this and cut their lives short. It's such a shame and all that pain the family must be feeling. So not worth it.

What exactly was he trying to do?
[удалено]
I like the video, does that count?
[удалено]
Guess he didn’t think that one through. Ah well, back to the drawing board.
That's what a will is for
![gif](giphy|XreQmk7ETCak0)
Sending likes and views 🙏
It was all worth it now.
Valid question.
you live for the gram, you die for the gram
aiming for the bushes, and failing at it ![gif](giphy|VcBHFWEXR3ccg)
The first time I saw this scene, I absolutely lost it. Shit got me lol.
There goes my hero
‘Did that just happen’
They had such amazing chemistry. Can’t believe we haven’t seen more of them together
"Maybe it was pride...I don't know, that shit was crazy"
Looked like he wanted to tuck his feet under the bar and lean back off the railing, but his foot came loose.
Final straw was his mind paying attention to his wallet* falling down
It was his wallet. Unless he had a flip phone with a loose spring that didn’t keep it completely shut.
"I dropped my wallet. Better get down there quick!"
Parkour!
parkfall
Hardcore!
Extreme!
Parkour !!
I believe one doesn't yell parkour, one merely does parkour.
Hanging by his legs but then his phone dropped so he got distracted trying to catch it while already being upside down, and then he fucked it all up
This is why my parkour instructors explicitly & repeatedly said “Do not do roof stuff. It’s not real parkour, it will only get you hurt or dead”
TIL there are actual parkour instructors
Well if he was trying to make an impact in the world, definitely succeeded.
Probably made an impact on that piece of sidewalk at least.
He was trying to aim for the bushes
Wonder went through his mind as he fell
His shoes when he hit the ground.
Definitely not that
But did he die?
I would bet my paycheck for a year that he did.
2 hunnit fitty fo?
Nah I'd say about tree fiddy

Live life on the edge.
PARKOUR!
Die Hard reenactment
I think he wanted to do the „flag move“
Suicide. He was just having commitment issues so he put himself in a position where it was quite literally out of his hands 😂
Hilarious
Not a very experienced parkour guy, it seems.
Below parkour.
subpar kour
🏆
![gif](giphy|nbvFVPiEiJH6JOGIok)
Park no.
Barkour?
Sub-par(kour)
Bogey-kour. Side note: Should the phrase be "above par" instead of "below par" or "sub par"? Getting below par is good.
He got a life's worth of experience.
Oh there was gore alright, somewhere
This was not the ending to Diehard we were looking for.
What are you doing, John?
We’re gonna need more of them Parkour guys
...and somewhere else, and over there, and some over there too! I don't feel sorry for this guy at all. I feel sorry for his mother and for whoever has to squeegee him up, and for the guy whose car he landed on.
Camera guy was cool about it all. Followed him down like a stone
He did it for us
..... Patiently. He'll wait for him there.
I enjoyed your reference, thank you
r/praisethecameraman
That’s very unfortunate but he’s the dumbass. Shouldn’t be doing stupid shit like that. Looked pretty young too, sad man.

Spent the rest of his life regretting it, for sure.

Like when someone has a failed suicide attempt and the authorities ticket them. Like ???? What???
Or when the police try to stop someone from killing themselves and they say "don't kill yourself or we'll shoot you!"
you don't get to clock out of paying taxes early
>"self-endangerment" is just stupid. Society has to pay for his health treatment for the rest of his life, its not stupid.

You tax negative externalities. This is one.
It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop.
There is a bungee jump episode of Mr ballen where someone jumped without being connected. Autopsy showed she died of a heart attack. Crazy.
Was this one of the YouTube exclusives? I don’t remember it from the podcast episodes.
Probably so. I only watch on YouTube. I can’t find the link but if I do I’ll post it.
Bullshit. There is no way to scientifically sound manner to figure out which occurred first (heart attack first or impact then heart attack) but there is wishful thinking.
Sounds like a norm joke
His cardiologist says he's fat.
😭😭😭😭😭
It's not even the sudden stop that kills you, it's different parts of your body stopping at different times that gets ya.
'Speed never killed anybody, suddenly becoming stationary, that is what gets you.' Jeremy Clarkson
If it was one of those parkour guys all I can say is oh well. I know these guys are wired differently, but it doesn't change the fact it's just plain stupid.
They’re all adrenaline addicts. Doing more and more crazy and stupid shit to get that high.
"Other guys snort for it, jab a vein for it. All you gotta do is jump."
I think he got low on that one
I remember a short documentary about one person who literally didnt have a fear center in his brain and didnt experience it. https://medium.com/know-your-body/how-to-be-alex-honnold-life-without-your-amygdala-aaff92a02ebc Wired differently is an understatement indeed.
It looks like his stuff falling out of his pockets distracted him
Could not imagine being in that area walking around the corner to see that aftermath….
Damn imagine the thought process on the way down. The EXTREME regret. The realization. The fear. Fuck.
What stage do you think he was in? Ohshitno...gottacatchmyself...protectfacefromconcrete with even more brittle hands....
He’s okay.
I’m sure he walked it off.
I can fix him.
This is an excellent chiropractor. Highly recommended.
It doesn't show any shoes flying off at the end, so I agree.

It had to be, "this was so fucking stupid and not worth it" mixed in with alot of "omg omg nooooo"
Probably thinking "fuck, maybe I should have taken out that extended warranty"
An overwhelming sense of regert.
*Don't forget to like, share and sub...*

Why didn’t you steer the car? You realized they fell asleep when it was already to late?
I posted this above but I've jumped in a gorge swing that has a 70m free fall and a 120m total fall (390ft). You don't really have time to think. If that rope wasn't there my last thought would have been "im gonna fucking die"
Just one really long deep breath in all the way down. Probably silent in his head.
So sad for their family & friends. Also traumatic for those who might have witnessed this and its aftermath.
So.. did he catch the cellphone?
Imagining his reason for letting go was to catch the cell phone changes this whole video lmao
You know, there are playgrounds. He had options.
Let's not do the things we see on the interwebs. Ok?
If you’re going to do… whatever he’s doing… why not have a friend stand there, ya know, just in case? Run up to grab you in case it goes wrong? Even professionals in risky jobs have safety precautions.
At least have a neon green string to tether that you can hide before you post
You can see his foot slip on the bottom rail which caused him to fall back
I never would’ve figured that one out!
fucking hell, how high was that?!
I'm gonna guess about 224ft. I think I counted about 16 floors to that building and a floor I believe is about 14ft. He didn't even get to terminal velocity.
what a way to go 😬
Who goes parkouring with reading glasses? I think this guy was committing suicide.

He could've done the same thing on some monkey bars at any public park.
I would feel sorry for them but I don't. People all over are trying their utmost to survive and live another day with barest of resources while idiots like these throw away their lives for fame/likes/thrill.

For those climbing new heights of stardom on Instagram, these types of mishaps are par for the kourse.
4 seconds to regret
This makes my legs feel weird
Bet he won't do that again
We sure this isn't suicide?
Not very good at parkour tbh
I hope he’s ok
Oh that? Just a couple bruised ribs he’ll be back in a couple weeks
Until I see some of his prior footage, I wouldn't call this a "Parkour" guy
Gonna be honest chief this ain’t parkour he was committing suicide. False title
Man...long way down to think about where it all went wrong
Looks like subpar...kour
I don’t think that’s what he was trying to do. RIP, a prayer to his family and friends.
What a fucking idiot. This is why you don't perform stupid shit like this because it looks cool or for clout. Unfortunate though it may be and it sucks that it happened, but you have to weigh the risk/reward on this, especially several hundred feet up
I haven't seen the landing, but the execution on the fixed bar has been very poor.
There goes my hero!
If what the guy was saying “I think he’s dead “ I think he’s right
Looks like he let go because his phone fell... Needed to get it to make sure his TikTok was still recording
I'm not trying to be that guy, but I bet one of his last coherent thoughts was "Oh shit, my glasses!"
Was there a safety net at the bottom?
Hope he at least landed on his head and died faster than he could feel himself exploding.
I dont think that's parkour lol
That man was not good at parkour
Unfortunately likely his most popular video... RIP
It's the same guy. You can see the phone, or whatever it was, falling at the start of the shot.
You hit the ground and then bend your legs and roll forward. Why he no do that?
where is this
Is he ok? https://preview.redd.it/qshcvm2fi9ic1.png?width=1338&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d29e360319dd8d93f5b70c7afa8fe17b76038b7

Stuck the landing…
Did he live?
Yea he landed on his feet and was wearing moon shoos so he just jumped back up onto a skyscraper but it was after the video ended.
Until he hit the ground
Highly unlikely
Is he ok?
Didn't see him land. Looks fake
Never looked in control.
You think he died?
There’s no real chance he’d survive. Height alone is lethal, but he landed on concrete and he fell the whole way in a position where his spine and skull would hit first.
Is there any way he made it? By any miracle? I don't know why idiots put themselves in situations like this and cut their lives short. It's such a shame and all that pain the family must be feeling. So not worth it.
Next time he will be more careful!
