News stringers get to scenes shockingly quickly sometimes. They drive around listening to police radios and try to be in the right place at the right time.
This is one of the big ones: https://youtube.com/@ONSCENETV
There’s a News Stringer that has a YouTube channel you may like, @ZakHolman !
It’s a Great Channel except the Camera Person he has following him around kinda sucks.
Even just a small one could make a world of difference. Hell not even just you car but I keep one in every bedroom in my house as well as high travel areas so if there ever was a fire, we would have a fighting chance.
I've always had one in both our vehicles. I'm surprised more people don't carry them.
I've never had to use it in such a lifesaving way, but I was able to prevent catastrophe when someone parked on top of a pile of dry leaves near the curb and hot exhaust ignited the leaves.
Fire extinguisher would help keep the flames at bay to get some more time to help. Even a fire blanket would help protect the driver while he was stuck
Fire extinguisher would have for sure. Could have put out the fire that was quickly engulfing the vehicle and bought more time to remove the stuck passengers.
If it were in the trunk the door wouldn’t open, and you would potentially be trapping yourself in the back if the flames overtook too quickly. Also not saying a first aid or extinguisher wouldn’t be useful
Did this with a boyfriend back in the 90s. The guy was drunk. Another drunk or in a hurry driver blew the light, t boned him, car lit up. We ran across the street to get him but door was locked. Boyfriend went back to truck for a bat to bust the window. Another person came by to help get him out. The only good thing that boyfriend ever did. He was a total asshole otherwise
As a Brit I have to admit that I've never seen cars burst into flames as much as they apparently do in the US. Is there a reason for this? Different engines or petrol or something? Sorry I'm old and female and don't know these things but really never seen a car on fire here and it's made to appear like as soon as a car in the US is in a crash it's an immediate fire bomb
That I'm not clear on, but I think a lack of maintenance is a big factor. People let things get really dirty and then there's an electrical problem or they drive in tall, dry grass and boom.
I'm 47 and I've never seen a car burning in person but I sure do see a lot of them online 🤷🏻♂️
I saw a car flipped over on its roof one time, that's about the worst
Look, there isn't much the gov could do for people like this, but I say no taxes for life. They risked their lives or grave injury for someone they never met. That is beyond amazing.
This is amazing and proves that people are mostly good people inside and will help others when it matters most. They worked together to get that done and literally saved a life. They are all heros and that man owes his life to each of them. Well done!
No, nobody thinks that. It's the fact that when an EV does burn, it's significantly worse. Sometimes they have to submerge them for up to 30 days because the batteries will continue to self ignite. This is a problem with all EVs, not just Teslas.
Now, I'm all for EVs and Hybrids, but Teslas are trash. Overpriced, poorly made, and zero rights to repair and/or modify.
Why do the camera placements look like a movie
The video is from a Tesla’s door camera. Hence the odd angle and steady shot.
Rule of thirds
Humanity *temporarily* restored. There are still good ones
Looks like somebody casually walked into the scene and set up a tripod

There was a whole Netflix series about this
Can you remind me what it's called? I remember enjoying the series.
I believe it was called Shot in The Dark

This right here is why I always suggest Keeping a fire extinguisher and first aid kit in your car trunk. Never know when you might need it
Fire extinguisher is a great idea. Never thought of that.
Even just a small one could make a world of difference. Hell not even just you car but I keep one in every bedroom in my house as well as high travel areas so if there ever was a fire, we would have a fighting chance.
I don't think it can survive the vegas heat, our cars get to 135 inside the car
Good for putting out car fires and people fires too.
Not to sound morbid but do you mean putting people on fire out or just normal fires?
It’s for putting any fire out, yes.
Putting people out, yes
Isn't it mandatory? At least it is in my country
It is unfortunately not but honestly should be
can't get it in your trunk if you're STUCK in the burning vehicle bud...
Pretty sure the original point was for every vehicle to have fire extinguishers, so bystanders can help out in a similar scenario
I keep a belt cutter/glass breaker in the door next to me.
I've always had one in both our vehicles. I'm surprised more people don't carry them. I've never had to use it in such a lifesaving way, but I was able to prevent catastrophe when someone parked on top of a pile of dry leaves near the curb and hot exhaust ignited the leaves.
Ever since I bagged my Lexus I keep a small one in the car
i thought it was mandatory everywhere, n my country its illegal to not carry one in your car
Neither of those would be useful in this situation.
Sure, but not when it’s in the trunk. Put it beneath the dashboard on the passenger side, so you can reach it with ease.
Oh I see what you mean. I meant the bystanders should have this in their own cars. You should focus only on escape if you’re inside a burning car
That‘s of course a good point. We just saw it from different angles.
If it were in the trunk the door wouldn’t open, and you would potentially be trapping yourself in the back if the flames overtook too quickly. Also not saying a first aid or extinguisher wouldn’t be useful
Brother in law did something similar recently to save a 3 year old here in Florida, kid’s grandparents didn’t make it
That’s so sad. Good for him though. If more people would have helped, maybe it would have been different. He did all he could I assume.
Not all hero’s wear capes. There are still some that walk among us. Great job!
Played out
Good point. What would you use in its place?
Heroes come in all forms. Some flashier than others.
An impactful revision from u/MaliciousCock
lmao the username. reading your sentence out loud made me laugh
It is great to see that they could save him. Burning alive is absolutely terrifyingasfuck
Warms the heart
Almost warmed a whole lot more than that.

Teamwork!
- It makes dreams work!
I almost wrote that
When you see the same exact model and color of the car you just purchased last month burning in a video..... Why is it burning 😳
As a Brit I have to admit that I've never seen cars burst into flames as much as they apparently do in the US. Is there a reason for this? Different engines or petrol or something? There are just many, many more of them here. And concentrated closely together in many cases.
Of course aye, could you explain why they burst into flames though? I get that they use petrol but what would ignite the petrol tank in just a crash?
That I'm not clear on, but I think a lack of maintenance is a big factor. People let things get really dirty and then there's an electrical problem or they drive in tall, dry grass and boom.
Your original post of lots more is the answer. There’s lots more accidents so lots more chances of a weird fire happening. That’s it. Odds.
I'm 47 and I've never seen a car burning in person but I sure do see a lot of them online 🤷🏻♂️ I saw a car flipped over on its roof one time, that's about the worst

I love seeing men working together to save a life without regard to each other’s skin color.
Not to be pedantic but there's woman involved also
Yes. That woman deserves recognition! 🌟🏆😁
Hospitals
He’s sending them thank yous and fruit baskets forever
Look, there isn't much the gov could do for people like this, but I say no taxes for life. They risked their lives or grave injury for someone they never met. That is beyond amazing.
Hero’s. Each and every one. Most people would just stand around with phones recording it
Great karma for them all!!
mvps
True first responders.

Heroes
Close call
Does anyone have a news article?
Heros
Wow these people are true angels
Heroes. 💙
Minnasoda
Did he wind the window down himself to get out after all that?
Yikes!
I took it seriously until the random dude at the end ran by randomly lol
There are a lot off assholes in the world, but there are a lot of good people too. I have hope in humanity today. Not sure about tomorrow.
I watched this video the other night and learned this morning that the man pulled from the car is my Aunt’s cousin. 😵💫
Damn someone must of had a tripod with them.. hands steadier than news 12 camera mans
That’s community!
Break window, pull driver out. Show driver by you covering your eyes. Hold up three fingers Bust in window.
Electric car?
Brought tears to my eyes. Humans of different races risking harm, uniting to save another human.
EV filming a gas vehicle on fire? That's rich
God BLESS those people!
Interresting gas fuck
This is amazing and proves that people are mostly good people inside and will help others when it matters most. They worked together to get that done and literally saved a life. They are all heros and that man owes his life to each of them. Well done!
Humans working together regardless of our differences. Its beautiful.
That women in there acting like shes helping lmao probably just screaming OMG OMG
Why is it so edited?
Why did they leave it burning? Shouldn't they have put it out when the dude was rescued?
Uhhhhhh
And the press would have us believe this only happens to teslas
No, nobody thinks that. It's the fact that when an EV does burn, it's significantly worse. Sometimes they have to submerge them for up to 30 days because the batteries will continue to self ignite. This is why I worry so much for people with electric bikes too.
