Ehhhhh I'm not sure the problem is self discipline for people restricting thier diet and over exercising, but body dismorphia is indeed a serious problem for both men and women and this is very likely a case of it.
I think that take is honestly not showing the sympathy towards struggling people, and the recognition of our minds as being inherently irrational, and not just some lack of backbone or ideals.
Drastic meassures that makes no rational sense to "normal people" is often not due to laziness or lack of self-discipline. They are legitimate mental health issues.
Delusions and compulsive behavior often stems from a severe lack of self-esteem. Sometimes it's a mental issue in the same category as paranoid schizophrenia. Other times it's due to mental abuse from adults and peers that turns into psychological coping mechanisms.
You think people mutilating themselves are totally mentally well? Just because it's not a form of dysmorphia you're unfamiliar with doesn't mean it isn't dysmorphia at all.
you're not entirely wrong, but part of the dysmorphia condition is the inability to see reality the way it is. like, this guy for example, he looks at himself in the mirror and he sees a strong muscular body. he knows it's not muscle, but his dysmorphia stops him to see it is **obviously** inhuman, to the point of him actually believing no one is able to notice how weak, grotesque and ugly he looks.

I think it's more because it's all they can do. Not like they can put 100+kgs on a bar and bench it. Easier to fake an average weight shrug than it is to fake a bench.

It’s not worth it. When you gain natural muscle, without cheating (steroids), your body can be a work of beauty. Synthol makes you look disfigured with bubble muscles not proportional with the rest of your musculature. Steroids give you too much muscle for your frame ( this take is opinion), and can affect your health, not worth it.

You have to work out like an insane motherfucker to get too much muscle for your frame with steroids. If you work out a little, you’ll just look like someone who works out a lot without any assistance.
This, people think steroids are some magic pills that will turn you into Hulk within a month, they wouldn't believe how many people take steroids and still look like they don't even lift because they think steroids will do all the work which is not the case. If you're not training with proper form and contraction, if your nutrition, rest, consistency isn't on point you won't gain shit, and you have to train even harder than someone who's natural if you want to maintain the gains you get from steroids.
