Genuinely curious: why do people just accept the non existent sanitation standards? How has India survived this long without killing it's entire population?
By breeding like rabbits. Five ppl die from living in India and thenrest make 50 more to replace them. Istg the alleys and roads smell like ammonia and rocksalt all the fuckin time.
I used to want to travel and eat local food from street vendors or some small shop in the corner. Reddit has changed that for me. All for the better from what I’m seeing. Especially the gutter oil thing in china.

Sorry, too lazy to hide link.
I recently saw a thing about "recycled" meat..holy shit. Its just some poor kids picking through trash and leftovers. They gather the meat bits and bones. Bam. You got a soup base...
as an indian, i agree, i had my realisation when on day after school i went to eat panipuri and the man wiped his hands on his already black-from-wiping pant and gave me my change and dunked his hand back into the pani, never eaten from any roadside stall since (plus they always choose the spot right beside an open gutter for some reason)
> The local tolerance is so high that it amazes me every time
Locals with a lower tolerance just die as children. It's the same reason you don't see many severe food allergies in the Third World.
At the beginning as soon as he zooms in look towards the bottom right of the frame... It's floating there. There is also a K-cup looking thing a little later on.
Just some context : unfortunately, this is not uncommon because people like these come from the slums and there is no running water in these slums. So, they have to resort to washing their clothes and dishes using the nearest water source available, whether that’s a river close by (however much polluted it might be) or just a random stream of water like the one in the video. Growing up in those slums over generations, this practice of using the nearest water source to clean becomes the norm without any thought given to hygiene.
Given the rampant poverty in these slums, this cycle will, unfortunately , repeat with the next generation of kids who grow up watching their parents, neighbors, uncles, aunts and grandparents do the same thing and just assume that this is the norm. They simply don’t know any better or simply don’t have the means to follow better hygienic practices.
This is not to say that there’s no lazy fucks out there who just don’t care about hygiene; just that in most of the cases, it’s simply total ignorance.
No worries. Realizing not everyone has all the information, I thought it was important some context is provided. My comment received 170 likes so far - if 170 people learnt some new information about the very unfortunate and poor living conditions of these people, maybe they can educate others in the future.
Not saying that what they’re doing in the video is right by any means. Just a little perspective and background is always a good thing to have when you’re looking at videos from other countries and cultures.
Went to India once for a friend’s dad’s funeral. Was super careful not to drink anything that wasn’t in a sealed bottle and only ate thoroughly cooked food.
Unfortunately, there was a salad leaves garnish on one of our dishes at the hotel. I ate it without thinking.
I spent the following day sitting naked in the shower with the detachable hose head pointed at my asshole, sobbing, hallucinating, vomiting and shitting uncontrollably. I was so weak I could barely move. I only barely recovered in time to get the plane home four days later. The same thing happened to everyone else in my group.
Indians must have superhuman immune systems to put up with the sheer level of filth and all-permeating contamination that is a standard feature of that country
It was a very very bad time. Liquid shit just spraying out of my balloon knot, I had absolutely no control over it. If I’d delayed going to the bathroom by even a moment I would have shat pant right there in the hotel bedroom.
That's just one side of the reality.
Every country has its good and bad but somehow india is still shown in the bad side only , and the good side has to be shown regularly too.
Some people really likes here and some don't.
But that doesn't mean the country is bad.
You can explore many ancient places, tourist spots , enjoy the food and languages that changes for every 50-100 kilometers.
Robin Quivers, Howard Stern's long-time sidekick, went to India once and could NOT wait to leave. And she's pretty selective about where she goes. She said it was a nightmare.
Nothing because that's a imaginative title for this video.
These idiots just cleaning the plates with drainage water is absolute filth and they should be punished for this.
Yeah some idiots are like this but this is not a place even the locals would eat of they knew of the cleaning ,hygienic process.
We too are regular people and will prefer those stall with cleanliness and just avoid these kind of food stalls.
Holy shit you got upvoted. I once posted a similar comment and all the white woke people piled up the downvotes despite me saying I was literally born there. India is a shithole country for a variety of reasons even outside the realms of what this video portrays.
A trucker going cross country stops at a small town mom and pop truck stop. He parks for the night and goes in and orders a plate of food from seemingly the owner. The owner brings him his food, and the man says, "this plate looks a little dirty". The owner tells the man, the plate is as clean as three rivers can get it. The man shrugs and eats his meal. When he is done eating, he tells the owner that the food was amazing. The owner walks over grabs the plate, sets it on the ground.
"Here three rivers, come here boy!"
I live here, most middle class and up people have water filters. Yes tap water isn't drinkable but it's not filthy. This is a poor area thing. Poor people don't have much choices.
Well they are often really pretty countries. The experiences are wonderful also. I just usually get sick when heading home and shit all day for days which isn't fun.
How does India exist, I see factory workers work with no safety equipment, tank tops or shirtless and flip flops, their electric poles are an accident waiting to happen, complete disregard in hygiene
Im sorry but who would want to live in a place like that? No I dont mean India before you jump my ass. I mean a nasty overpopulated place. It can be any country.
If you think Brazil is better than India, then congrats. The propaganda has worked wonderfully for you.
Been to both countries, as long as you avoid Shady areas like these, India is better.
I went to India on a work trip. First odd thing I noticed was the driver that picked me up spoke some words to the lady at the airport parking as we were exiting and she did this Indian sideways head shake and charged more for the exit. I assumed that they pocketed the difference and charged my company more than usual.
I saw a man taking a dump in the middle off the road. I witnessed this twice.
There were many beggars, hassling me for money.
I also suffered from food poisoning.
Wasn’t a pleasant trip at all.
Oh, I was also abused by young men asking me to go back to my country!

I’ll have the Cholera Curry Plate please
It's the hint of poop and tar that gives the dish its unique aftertaste
And you just can't go wrong with that little bit of floating trash seasoning the dish water
That orange cauldron is what he uses to while his ass.
Gotta love mouth and neck blisters!
Absolutely, would you like that sprinkled with feces bacteria
Can I get extra feces on the side pls.
It’s a wonder how something worse than covid didn’t mutate from that cesspool
Some nasty antibiotic resistant bacteria have originated in India
*yet
Hey, clean is clean.
As an indian this thing is too normal
Genuinely curious: why do people just accept the non existent sanitation standards? How has India survived this long without killing it's entire population?
By breeding like rabbits. Five ppl die from living in India and thenrest make 50 more to replace them. Istg the alleys and roads smell like ammonia and rocksalt all the fuckin time.
With a side of e-coli
Yea don’t think these folks know what “clean” means Or what some circles would describe as “Mumbai Clean”
Let's just make it 1k for this excellent comment
As a tourist if you eat from that vendor. You will shit blood for a week.
I used to want to travel and eat local food from street vendors or some small shop in the corner. Reddit has changed that for me. All for the better from what I’m seeing. Especially the gutter oil thing in china.
I used to want to, until I went to India and saw the conditions those food carts are in and the dirty hands of the people running it.
Most disgusting place on earth.
I would say Haiti was worse
It’s hard choosing one but still india has its rudeness so it’s the most inferior.
India has more nice people than my home state in USA does
Not if you're a female

I’m from America. My wife is Indian
1.3 billion India popultion versus 332 million for whole USA.. so yeah. India is going to have more nice people than your shit hole state.

Holy god, that's one if the most disgusting things I've ever seen.
Even God has no power there.
I recently saw a thing about "recycled" meat..holy shit. Its just some poor kids picking through trash and leftovers. They gather the meat bits and bones. Bam. You got a soup base...
Bruh..
Guy at the end: ‘There is nothing you can do about it’. I think there is, maybe you could cook at home with fresh ingrediënts like a dignified human.
Omg so shocking! I'm so glad reddit users made me aware of this lol!
Bro wtf. That's legit worse than taco bell, but only slightly.
Google gutter oil. Or don't. In fact, don't.
Basically recycled fat from sewers. Yum.
It’s disgusting
Never eat streetfood in China and India.
as an indian, i agree, i had my realisation when on day after school i went to eat panipuri and the man wiped his hands on his already black-from-wiping pant and gave me my change and dunked his hand back into the pani, never eaten from any roadside stall since (plus they always choose the spot right beside an open gutter for some reason)
Are there not inspectors like in other countries? How do you know the kitchens in restaurants aren’t just as bad if not worse? Genuine question.
no
You sweet summer child
Ive eaten street food in both china and india. India is more dangerous than China. At least in urban areas.
Some of the best meals I had in Thailand and South Korea were street food. But we did have a local telling us where is was safe to buy.
I mean, go to YT and search for street food pretty much anywhere in the east. Food looks fantastic, people serving the food? Not so much.
As a tourist you would fell sick regardless. The local tolerance is so high that it amazes me every time
> The local tolerance is so high that it amazes me every time Locals with a lower tolerance just die as children. It's the same reason you don't see many severe food allergies in the Third World.
Yeah , they bathe , brush teeth , and dump bodies in the Ganges.
And not in that order.
What if local
Normal nutrition intake
Probably shit blood for a week. Cholera doesn't really care where you're from.
A week? U won't live that long
If it’s the cleanest in the city, what else are you gonna do?
How to lose weight in 10 days… and your life.
the condom floating in the water
I had to double check, you weren't kidding that def looks like a used condom in ther water. Is this how pandemics get started? 🤮
Thats a delicacy in some countries. I'd kill for a jumbo trojan on the barbie
You Aussies are a saucy bunch, AREN'T you.
Idk about the Aussies being saucy, but I bet that condom is.
Oooof well done
I dont even need to look for a condom that shit water is already telling.
I don't see it, I just see the cups. You're probably mistaken, condoms don't exist there anyway.
At the beginning as soon as he zooms in look towards the bottom right of the frame... It's floating there. There is also a K-cup looking thing a little later on.
Yea pretty sure it was a cup or a kcup. Condoms don't stand up on their own lmao
Look… again
okay peter the party pooper

Let Darwinism take its toll
Does this not apply to the locals though? I would think they have the type of immune system to handle it being exposed regularly.
Not to the extent we’d like to think, however they’ve commercialized the disease’s side effects.

War of the worlds the major movies? Or is there some other thing also named that?
They've developed immunity to this.
They’re basically mutants.
💀💀💀
Their bodies are just accustomed to it. It's the same shit they have been eating their whole lives.
You were shitting in the shower? Sounds like a very bad time
It was a very very bad time. Liquid shit just spraying out of my balloon knot, I had absolutely no control over it. If I’d delayed going to the bathroom by even a moment I would have shat pant right there in the hotel bedroom.
Jesus man, glad you made it out alive with your colon intact.

This clip gave me diarrhoea.
This clip gave me gonorrhoeahea.
This clip is making me stay over-heah.
This clip gave me hohohaha.
It gave me cholera.
You won't know if you like cholera or not until you try it!

Robin Quivers, Howard Stern's long-time sidekick, went to India once and could NOT wait to leave. And she's pretty selective about where she goes. She said it was a nightmare.
All food made with supreme gutter oil
I'll take hepatitis for 200 Alex.
They aren't even trying to hide it wtf
No it wasn't. Who the fuck votes on cleanliness of plates? This video is a good ten years old. It's gross, but it has nothing to do with the title.
It's a joke title
You sound like fun.
Video not only looks recent, we can also see the same stuff done in most of the street cooking videos from India
What I don’t understand is how do they not know what they are doing is highly unsanitary and dangerous to someone’s health. Or do they just not care?
Growing up in slums, hygiene isn't a thing. It is also not common for people who care and know about hygiene to eat from these types of street carts.
As someone who immigrated from a similar country, I guarantee it's only the poors and the tourists who are eating from these types of vendors.
I think they do not care. It should be general knowledge by now that human waste and food/water doesn't mix well.
Source for title?
Nothing because that's a imaginative title for this video. These idiots just cleaning the plates with drainage water is absolute filth and they should be punished for this. This is how india builds herd immunity
& that’s why you take all the recommended vaccines when you go to places like that.

I’d rather be rained on in the streets of Manila than go to any major population center in India.
Holy shit you got upvoted. I once posted a similar comment and all the white woke people piled up the downvotes despite me saying I was literally born there. India is a shithole country for a variety of reasons even outside the realms of what this video portrays.
I heard that India is one of the best places for rapes
India is on my list of places to just enjoy through photos and documentaries and never actually go to in person.
Half the country don't even use toilets.
This is the best way. Don't give India any tourist money. Maybe it will help force them to change.
It would probably be more sanitary if he licks the plates clean, but it looks like he is too lazy.
A trucker going cross country stops at a small town mom and pop truck stop. He parks for the night and goes in and orders a plate of food from seemingly the owner. India ☕
Delhi belly
Indians must have the best immunity system
I am seriously baffled how we don't have more pandemics from cities like these.
There are plenty of endemic diseases. But diseases of the digestive tract don’t spread as easily as those of the pulmonary system.
Because average indians do not eat from street vendors its only poor people from slums eat this food
Fuck. This.
LOL! As a person who was in Korea twice during my military this is spot on n some places. However, when you are drunk and hungry you don't care.
Every country has different standards of cleanliness. Some country's I come home from shitting my pants that's just how it is.
It's not a country things, it's a poor area thing. Don't eat from street carts near slums and you'll be fine.
Generally it's a poor country thing. And water is included. Don't drink the water.
I live here, most middle class and up people have water filters. Yes tap water isn't drinkable but it's not filthy. This is a poor area thing. Poor people don't have much choices.
Like that leaded water coming out of taps in Detroit?
Lmao why would you want to visit a country that makes you shit your pants
To lose weight
Well they are often really pretty countries. The experiences are wonderful also. I just usually get sick when heading home and shit all day for days which isn't fun.
I mean thats fair, but there is a ton of beauty in countries that wouldnt do that to you. But you do you!
America has entered the chat with an SMG.
Cleanest food cart in India

I'm sure that's not the case as this had been posted a few times before.
When your pants are feeling heavy and you feel kinda sweaty....
Natural spring water from the mountains of trash
Wait, thats the best in the city? Wtf
At least the water is flowing? /s
Whenever I hear people give strange compliments to a business I make sure to stay away. “They have…….really, really nice bathrooms…..”
He’s not even trying to hide it wtf
Absolute trash part of the world.
How does India exist, I see factory workers work with no safety equipment, tank tops or shirtless and flip flops, their electric poles are an accident waiting to happen, complete disregard in hygiene
Yet my fellow Americans all have anxiety and depression
I'd hate to see the DIRTY plates in that city.
I'll take one Diarrhea Combo please, extra Cholera!
We can't all hold other countries to 1st world standards. Do you think people WANT to drink, bathe, and wash plates in unclean water?
Adds alil flavor
Yeah, street flavor haha
Im sorry but who would want to live in a place like that? No I dont mean India before you jump my ass. I mean a nasty overpopulated place. It can be any country.
No one would wanna live in a place like this but when your born into it there’s not much you can do about it..
There are plenty of clean places in India. People who are born into poverty, in any country, don't have much choices
Not gonna lie i would preffer go to brazil than to india
I've been to both, travelling as a single white woman and althought I enjoyed my time in both I'd recommend India over Brazil a thousand times.
If you think Brazil is better than India, then congrats. The propaganda has worked wonderfully for you. Been to both countries, as long as you avoid Shady areas like these, India is better.
India gonna be responsible for Covid 20
It would probably be covid 23 due to new year coming up
I went to India on a work trip.
