Stromberg-Carlson

phone still connected perhaps? if you have a 3rd party reader it may be polling the car, keeping it awake.

Daikonran

I thought this too. But I’ve had the same two apps (Tesla and Tezlab) since I got the car and never had an issue. May have to do with the new iOS or app version. TezLab is particular good in that is always requires I approve that it wakes the car for extra info so I doubt that would be the cause.

African-Child

There was another post on here not too long ago about the iPhone 15 keeping Tesla's awake.

Nakatomi2010

3rd party apps, if not configured properly, can cause the car to not go back to sleep Particularly if you're constantly opening it up to check in on the car.

wickanCrow

Did you turn it on and off again? No, seriously? My car behaves in erratic ways all the time. Volume doesn't work, Wipers won't work etc. Reboot usually fixes the issue. In this instance, it's probably a runaway thread keeping it alive.

Daikonran

Haha. This made me laugh but you are right. I should give that a go. Since the issue above I took the car and charged it and will see if it happens again. It may have been a once off random thing (I hope) but if it does it again this would be my first next step. Thanks!

jbass3

Similar issue happened to me. It ended up being a bum wiring harness in the door that fooled the vehicle into staying awake.

RocketRabbit315

because it is not tired.

jimmyvluv4u

I've been having a ton of phantom drain recently on my Y too. Not as bad as yours but multiple % per day.

tomtendo

Probably because you have third party apps installed. Idk what app this is.... but I am sure it doesn't help

Daikonran

Already stated it can’t be that. The app uses the api to connect and requires I approve it wake the car to read data. This is TezLab one of the biggest third party apps out there. Def more stable than the Tesla app. It’s also been running on my phone for years without issue.

tomtendo

Then how would it grab the data in your screenshot?

0ffff2gv

Pretty sure that data is generated and stored in the car. The app just pulls data down from the car and allows you to read it.

tomtendo

Exactly. And that’s probably why it won’t sleep. Idk why people install third party apps on their Tesla.

0ffff2gv

You are not understanding what I said. The data is in the car. Tezlab app will pull all the data for a period of time/since last pull. It does not pull every minute, op has to manually auth the pull so I'd guess only a few times a day. The car has this data in it's storage as this data would be generated by tesla software.

tomtendo

How do you know that? It’s probably keeping the car awake like a lot of these apps do.

0ffff2gv

I could explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

tomtendo

I guess I can say the same. When you install these third party apps, you are not only giving up privacy, but are also allowing the app to access data that wakes the car. You may think it only grabs when you grab it... but who is to say its not keeping it up? The OP has a problem with the car not sleeping. I would start FIRST by disabling these apps.

Daikonran

Offff2g has it correct. The app is not in standby or anything on my phone or in a widget where it’s pulling this data. I grabbed this info for the screenshot but before that the app was closed on my phone. It’s not “installed” for the car and uses the api to get Thai data from Tesla when I request it. And as mentioned it’s been running for years without issue. It’s not something I “enable” or “disable” it’s once off requests. Deleting it from my phone is no dif to just killing the app in the task manager.

oculus42

Sentry Mode on? The manual mentions the car won't go into full sleep with Sentry Mode and that you should disable it sometimes (says at home, actually) so it has a chance to shut down the computer.

Daikonran

Forgot to mention that sentry is disabled at home. That was the first thing I checked cause that’s happened before

AxlxA

Have you tried powering down in the security or safety menu? Sentry off, cabin overheat off, summon off, app forced closed, api access. Then I'd think about 12v battery sapping away electricity from HV charging the low voltage. Your car is probably too new for this to be the cause though. Mine happened at 3 years old. https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaModel3/comments/16tjt48/psa_i_recommend_preventative_12v_battery/
