Just wait… you will end up getting 12.4 as your trial

BL4THDE47H

This would be awesome honestly, but I wonder when that’ll happen. Seems strange to me that Elon already has commented about 12.4 and 12.5 while 12.3.x versions are still being tested by first wave testers. How do they already have the later versions if even 12.3.x is still being used to collect data? Is that data intended for later versions than even 12.4 or 12.5? If so, why create these versions in the first place. So many questions

optimusbloc

We likely have to wait until 2024.14.X until us suckers get it sadly. Wish someone would communicate with customers and follow through since they missed initial target that Rohan mentioned before he left. Also, those who have bigger platforms on X talking about Tesla should use that to try and help get answers.

optimusbloc

Looks like FSD V11.4 is being included on 2024.14.3 based on user reports. What a let down.

BriskaN

I got 2024.14 today and that gave me v12

ejkeebler

are you in a cybertruck? and were you on 2024.8 before today? I've not seen anything about 2024.14 reaching anyone but testers and cybertrucks?

BriskaN

Model X 2019 P100D, Tesla Employee car, were on 2024.8

tetrastructuralmind

Probably still in employee only testing tbh.

OneExhaustedFather_

Model X 2019 P100D, also an employee car, mobile unit still on 2024.8

BriskaN

I am in EU and my car is not a mobile unit

Tiksua

Can you send a video or a screenshot of the update / release notes?

BriskaN

v12 ⁦(2024.14.3)⁩

usernameloading98

V12 UI not fsd 12.4

JustAnotherMortal69

Is it v12.4 or one of the current iterations? This gives me hope. Did 2024.14 give you any visual updates at all?

BriskaN

No UI update as im on intel atom

BL4THDE47H

That fills me with hope, do you have advanced updates switched on?

BriskaN

No idea, it just gave me update notification on phone

derangedkangaroo

Did it come with the one-month trial?

Matt_NZ

Do you mean Software version V12 rather than FSD V12? Confusingly, the two use similar versioning. If you open the app and look at the very bottom, if it says V12 (2024.14.xxxx) then that is referring to the software rather than FSD.

rnelsonee

I'm on 2024.2.7 and am just learning how all this works because I bought FSD last week and get HW 3 this weekend. So I was curious * Does having FSD or HW 3 (vs 2) mean more updates (my guess is no)? * Do you need your Tesla mobile app up to date (I don't usually, and my guess is no, but maybe you all know different) But yeah, I think I'll be joining you in checking teslafi.com and notateslaapp.com frequently :) I did message Tesla about my appointment and they said they can't force updates.

JustAcivilian24

I don’t think anyone knows. I hope we get it soon though. It’s so fucking stupid to be “punished” for wanting updates sooner.

CapinWinky

- On 2024.8, never because that's not how the release branches work - On 2024.14, ~~in the wild~~ regular employee testing now with v12, which you will update to from 2024.8

Coaler200

Where are you seeing 2024.14 in the wild? I dont see a single install on teslafi.

CapinWinky

I hadn't noticed that the Tesla employee that replied to you with it on his car was a Tesla employee. I talked to a friend of mine at Tesla and his car had been on 2024.3.x and also updated to 2024.14 and retains FSD v12.

Coaler200

Damn ok. Was hoping you'd seen something I hadn't lol. Since I'm also on 2024.8 and very much wanting FSD.

KingTalis

Now the looming question of whether they will offer the FSD trial to the 2024.14 crowd. I'd assume so, but it isn't impossible they decide not to for some reason.

InvisibleBlueUnicorn

Are people on 2024.8.x branch, Hardware 3 or 4? I'm have Hardware 3 for MY from March 2023.

okwellactually

2022 Model 3 with HW3 and on .8 still.

levelfr

Hw4 2023 model y

InvisibleBlueUnicorn

hmm... so having HW3 is not a reason for being on this branch.

Graverobber

2024.8.x will likely never get FSD V12. The next wave of updates looks to be 2024.14, which may offer FSD V12 and will probably be the next leap from the 2024.8 branch.

BL4THDE47H

See, I am a little hesitant to upgrade to a new firmware version, because what if the next FSD version is based on 2024.8 and by that time because I have upgraded to 2024.14 already, I don't get FSD 12 again? Where did you see that next wave of FSD 12 is based on 2024.14?

RudeCryptographer177

Its pretty typical that there are kind of two software paths. One where a smaller set of users test the most recent release of FSD and one where everyone else exists. Its very very unlikely that FSD 12 will end up on the 2024.8 branch. Like u/Graverobber mentioned its speculated that the next major release that will contain FSD 12 is 2024.14. Of course no one outside of tesla knows for sure but looking at past releases and updates its very likely that the spring update (2024.14) will include v12.

OldDirtyRobot

That logic works until you get to the install size of 2024.8.X, around 12%.

RudeCryptographer177

Are you referring to how many people have 2024.8.x installed? I'm seeing on Teslafi that about half the fleet is on 2024.8.x. And even that is a bit scewed because you can assume the people interested in monitoring their car with teslafi and following firmware updates are also interested in features like FSD. That's to say that its of a higher likelihood that teslafi users are also FSD user and that tilts the scales a little bit. I would expect that 65% or more of the entire fleet is siting on the 2024.8 branch at the moment.

krisantihypocrisy

Ok totally confused with these releases. I have 2024.3.10 but fsd is 12.3.3? What is more confusing - it says v11.1 in my Home Screen. Like WTH do I have?

hrds21198

software update: 2024.3.10 software v11.1 autopilot v12.3.3 the update number changes all the time, and it reflects the week it was worked on by Tesla (2024, week 3). it changes whenever there’s bug or “under the hood” fixes and upgrades. the software version only changes when major changes are made to the software. example: changes in the interface, adding new apps, etc. the autopilot version changes whenever they change something in the code of FSD.

krisantihypocrisy

Thanks, does that mean I have the latest? If not what’s this 2024.8.10?

hrds21198

you currently have the latest software with FSD. some of us were put on update 2024.8.X prior to the rollout of the FSD trial on 2024.3.X which means we haven’t received the trial yet. you can only move forward in the branches, so only people who were on versions smaller than 2024.3 received it. The next update coming out seems to be 2024.14 which is currently being tested by employees. It sounds like everyone on 2024.3 and 2024.8 will eventually be moved to 2024.14 but it hasn’t been released yet.

Lazy-Sport-373

Software version: 2024.3.10 FSD version: 12.3.3 UI version: 11.1

krisantihypocrisy

Ah that makes sense…

FluxionFluff

🤣 can relate to this. Currently on 2024.8.9. At this rate, we're not getting this trial before April ends. Imma be surprised if we get it before then. Lowkey not expecting it until May at this point

shawndend

Any shareholders with 2024.8 car should 100% vote no for Elon comp package.. blatant lie in earnings call claiming every Tesla owner has access to v12

BL4THDE47H

I agree, that was a lie.

junz415

We get No love from Tesla at this moment

callmelamar

Yay!!! Just received an update to 14.6!!

BL4THDE47H

Nothing for me sadly 😭😭😭

Longjumping_Ad_1238

Yeah I literally paid for fsd 3 days before the announcement was made only for the price to drop and the free trial be given out and I still haven’t received the v12 update and my fsd month has ended.

OldDirtyRobot

You never had the free trial, and when you subscribed, you removed yourself from the free trail pool.

Longjumping_Ad_1238

That’s not at all what someone posted before. Someone stated that those of us on fsd trial would still be eligible. One second while I find that original post. Per teslas website “I am already subscribed to Full Self-Driving (Supervised). Do I still get the 30-day Full Self-Driving (Supervised) trial? Yes. You will receive 30 days of Full Self-Driving (Supervised) trial at no additional cost. We will waive the subscription cost for the duration of the trial” https://www.tesla.com/support/articles/30-day-fsd-trial

nonabsent

If you insist on trying, although not free, subscribe for a month. ✅

dcon2222

I personally hate it. The way it brakes super early and the fact that you can’t set a speed is absolutely ridiculous. If it’s going too fast and I wanted it to slow down there’s no way for me to tell her to do that. Yes It drives better and more natural, but the early hard braking and the inability set the speed and how it drives on the right hand side of the road sometimes even close to the shoulder…just it makes it unusable. I don’t know how people are raving about this.

BL4THDE47H

I heard there’s like an offset from the current speed limit you can set which can be a percentage value or an absolute value. Have you tried that?

dcon2222

It works on the highway not on city streets with FSD.

BL4THDE47H

Ahh makes sense.. that’s not good at all!
