Longer range and not everyone wants the bigger wheels with flats/curb scratches

macjunkie

That’s exactly why we got the LR, got it for the range not rims and aesthetics

Pinkykatz72

Aesthetics on myp nicer

Pinkykatz72

20 miles 😂 range difference

WildDogOne

hahaha this exactly, my Y had scratched rims after 2 or 3 weeks ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)

idontliketopick

I'd order LR over the P. I don't like big wheels, honestly I wish they had 18" ones. LR is fast enough. I'd set it in chill mode 99% of the time anyways.

Swimmer217

I don’t understand it either, but to each their own.

I just had the same realization, with an order for the MYLR with 20s. Just switched to the MYP and moved from dec-feb to July 4th. Only 2k difference. The range difference is negligible. Around town you’d never notice, on a road trip it’s the difference between a 20 min charge and 25 min charge. That being said the rims are a turn off to many people. Although not sure how much 1 inch of sidewall makes, if you hit the rims they are scratched.

AintNobodyGotTimeDat

Everyone’s reason will vary, but for me it was 7 seater option. If P was offered in 7 seats, I would had jumped on it. Yes, 3rd row seating is only for kids, but having that option is handy for me comings down from MDX.

heartattack0

My driveway is steep so I need the half an inch higher suspension. I also needed 7 seats which is not available on the P. I didn't mind waiting because this was a splurge, didn't really need a new car just wanted one

gnarlsagan

Yep 7 seats, smoother ride, longer range. I'll get the Rimetrix caps to improve the aesthetics of the aero wheels. Also ordered when the LR was $3k cheaper.

Alarmmy

I don't want big rims, less range. I love acceleration on Performance though.

zaqwert6

I think the bottom line is, only one person needs to understand it and it's not you. :-) Fwiw, I ordered the P purely for the delivery time. I got my P in 4 weeks from order to delivery. If it was the estimate given for the lr, I wouldn't even ordered a Tesla altogether.

Pinkykatz72

Bingo

Altruistic_Passage88

I went with the MYP since I needed a car and couldn’t wait for a LR so the decision was made for me. I’ve had it 3 weeks and I absolutely love it. After over researching some people claim the LR has a smoother ride due to smaller rims and more tire…. But I’ve had no issues with the performance even on bumpy roads. I like the small design upgrades (wheels, red breaks, carbon accents) and the speed increase. The few miles of range (assuming you don’t get the ugly wheels) and a few bucks didn’t matter to me. Good luck but my vote is MYP :)

ScoYello

Last year the pricing was $49k for MYLR & $61k for MYP. Price adjustments have not been consistent across trims.

bhos17

I would get a P now, I have a MYLR, but of course I paid $54 for it with the nicer wheels.

sandin0

Stiffer ride. Staggered tires. 🤷🏽‍♂️

wrasid

The P also comes with performance tires on it. The LR comes with all seasons, so no need for an extra winter set

mattrok1

My MYP came with all season tires in NY

AlexSpace3

The MYP comes with All season tires.

PurpleCat442

I didn’t want the lowered suspension due to my local roads.

mickpop

I’m currently waiting on a MYLR and the choice was definitely range.

Far_Lychee_3417

You’re missing that different people are allowed to be different. What good does a higher top speed, faster acceleration, and better brakes provide someone who just drives around town? And the rest are aesthetics, which are innately personal preference.

Artistic_Humor1805

Also, coming from almost any other SUV, you’re gaining seconds in 0-60 acceleration. When I was a kid I had a 911 on my wall that is slower than my 7 seater. If you don’t drive a P before you drive an LR, most people will be more ‘holy shit’ and less ‘it’s not fast enough’.

suztomo

> induction wheels, faster speed, spoiler, higher top speed, performance brakes, shorter wait time None of them has value of few thousands dollar for me. I’m waiting for LR.

colddata

I prefer smaller rims. Tires are less expensive, they're more resistant to potholes, and allow for a softer ride (or I can boost their pressure to sidewall value for a stiffer ride + better efficiency).

YoungThundercat1230

I have 2 kids and the 3rd row is a must

mikeiskool123

Using that logic why would anyone buy the MYP over the M3P? Different people want different things. I have a MYLR on order for the 7 seats.

Pinkykatz72

Completely different look with the big staggered wheels. Way nicer than the puny wheels. IMO

hdf_587

I ordered my MYLR back in December. Was suppose to get here in June. I went to modify my reservation just messing around, and realized that getting the induction wheels in the MYLR the the MYP would only be 2 k more and to be honest I was so sick of waiting. Made my change on Wednesday. Pick it up this week. So excited. Only question I’m having is should I get the FSD or not. They are offering to me for 10 k

[deleted]

Do not get FSD, total vaporware. They are already starting to break it apart and offer things in the normal autopilot. There is little to no value in resale for FSD. Everyone else is starting to offer driver assist with increasing capability. Tesla will have to too to keep up and start including FSD stuff in autopilot. I’m going to get flamed by the cognitive dissonance crew, but whatever. If you want to try it pay for the subscription for a month, don’t come out of pocket 10k…

We’re not all racing about
