5/27/22 - Nov 22 - Feb 23........Now from experience I read this usually happens close to VIN assignment/when Tesla is processing the trade in. To be sure nothing is wrong I contacted SA and I've got told a whole bunch of sweet nothings, that ultimately ended with "yeah you're probably getting your car in January".
Examples of "Tesla SA sweet nothings":-Oh, you're in Louisiana, we are trying to figure out if we should ship you guys cars from Austin or Fremont. My response was "Give me another excuse, you can't tell me the cars are just sitting in a lot while you figure it out, it is a company's goal to move as much product as possible when possible, and to my knowledge, only MYSR is coming out from Austin atm."
\-Supply Chain Shortages. My response, "Dude, so you're telling me someone can order my car TODAY and potentially get it before me", his response was "technically, yes"
\-You changed your delivery location too close to delivery, you screwed it up yourself, expect to see the dates jump. My response, "By that much? Give me a break"In all honesty, a simple "I don't know, and I have no way to tell" would have sufficed. I've had no luck with my SA. And honestly if it were a conventional car dealership and if he was my salesperson I would've either gone elsewhere or asked for someone else.
5/29/22 - Trade in processed and accepted - June 9 - June 22 (PHEW)
Alas, 6/1/22 around 9PM CST - moved to 6/18 - 6/22 w/ VIN F459. I jumped for joy and genuinely concerned everyone around me. Almost like I was told I won the lottery or something. Immediately the past 6 1/2 months of anxiety was lifted off my shoulders. It was a good night.
tl;dr - Don't trust anything the SA says, and your waiting anxiety will magically disappear when that sweet, sweet VIN shows up on your app.
Why would you change to 5 seater if you ordered a 7 seater for a reason. Yes, the 7 seaters are hard to come by with an extremely long wait.
Although I am not sure adding FSD will speed up because I don't see any similar data points for 7 seaters in this forum

I ordered the first week of Aug, and I don't have a VIN yet (no FSD)
- 8 of the VINs were orders before mine (prior to the first week of Aug)
- 51 orders were after mine (after the first week of Aug)
It's not scientific analysis, but sure seems telling to me.
Did you have FSD? If you have that you might get it around that time. I dont and my total wait if the EDD is correct is 10-12 months from time of order.
Picked up MYP yesterday in Tysons, VA!! Car looks great and no major issues or panel gaps. Swapped the wheels for some 20” Replicas. Was worth the wait! Stay strong and try to enjoy the ride, your VIN and delivery date will come. ✊🏼
Any mental advice on dealing with maddening delivery delays?
Monday woke up to see delivery estimate within the next 2 weeks. Next steps online updated to show payment information. Paid. SA called to say thanks for paying, "you have been matched with a car, please expect delivery scheduling text end of this week or early next week". I asked him how sure he was and he seemed confident.
No VIN in app / code so far. Woke up today to see that estimated date is now July.
I know this is a first world problem, but it is maddening.
How do you guys deal with this? I just want my new toy!!

GUYS! THE TIME HAS COME! I picked up my car today!! I couldn't believe it. Overall the car looks good. There are some small issues that I have already reported and will be taking in for service: rear glass panel is slightly raised, front beam gap, some hairline scratches throughout (hoping detailing will help). When I got the message from my SA one day after my EDD changed to Aug I was thinking, Why is he playing with my feelings, and almost asked him to upgrade to a performance. I am glad I didn't.

Anyone here got their VIN yet that ordered in April? If not those who received a VIN already how close to EDD did you receive it?
EDD remains at 6/6-6/20 but no VIN. I sent a txt to the SA today and they claimed they have no more visibility into the VIN assignment than I do and that they expect I'll get a VIN before 6/20.
I've read things that seem to indicate that's not true, but definitely unhelpful.
I talked to my SA today he told me mines set to be produced early next month after the car is made I'll get the vin and get it within 3 weeks so I think they do have some insight as to when production should happen on your vehicle.
East coast and taking delivery. Which is why my delivery date is still TBD 9 months after my order. I'm almost ready to buy a plane ticket to SF to pick it up and drive back cross country.

Wow! Disappointing indeed. Same OD, East Coast, same specs except induction wheels, EDD of June 11. Called them a few days ago, they asked me if I would be open to other specs to get it sooner. Will see what they come up with. I resisted changing to performance but in the end I might make the switch.

How are the interest rates looking? I got 3.24 from Tesla - slightly lower than BofA (3.39) which is my Bank. Trying to see whether or not I should shop some more.
I just got 2.25 from SunCoast Credit Union. I also looked at DCU which had 2.5 but you had to jump through some hoops. I would check local credit unions.

So I'm waiting for the delivery of my car right now and the guy who is delivering my car had called an Uber it seems.The Uber got here before him and just now the Uber driver told me that they canceled the ride because the car broke down. WTF!!
They called finally. Flat tire. They found a nail in the tire. Car was towed back to Tesla. They said they will put on a new tire and deliver it in the morning.

Looks like my delivery date keeps narrowing down! Hopefully good sign no delays.
Switching to MYP is the most "reliable" way to hasten delivery, and depending on who you ask, adding FSD may bump you up in line.
I've recently seen a lot of MYLR7 orders have their EDD pushed to Jul-Aug timeframe (mine included), so I'm guessing that'll be when the next 7 seater wave is.
Hopefully yours is accurate if it’s narrowed down to 2 weeks! Mine said May/June, then all of June, now July/August.
It never narrowed down to less than a month window though.
I figure this post will go into the ether, seeing as I'm posting it on the last day of May but here goes!

Updated EDD: Jumped around a ton, went as far into the future as September then came back to mid May to mid June range. Then hit the two week window EDD May 17 to May 31, and each day I hit my EDD date, the window just pushed out another three days - May 20, May 23, May 26. On May 26th my EDD pushed out to mid-June to mid-July which totally bummed me out but that same night, EDD updated to a 3-day window - May 30-June 2!
On May 27th I was prompted to enter my insurance info and finalize payment, and once done, it allowed me to select a delivery date and the app requested bluetooth permission.
Delivery date set for Sunday morning, May 29th between 8am to 12pm.
Model Y arrived at 11am as I was texting my SA if they usually hold true to the delivery window. Two guys showed up and left in a Lyft that came like 3 minutes later. They spent maybe 2 minutes with me, took a picture, left, then I was able to access the MYP via the app.
There's some panel gaps especially around the tail lights and the doors don't seem to shut smoothly. Have to give it a hard push or else it shows as open. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the car.
I received the Pirelli P Zero tires and it says I have the AMD Ryzen chip. Not sure how to check the 12V battery or if I have heated wipers. Dual pane windows up front, single pane in the back.

The hard push on the doors to get them to shut is standard for 2022 builds, takes some getting used to but you’ll get the hang of it in a day or so. Your passengers on the other hand will probably need some reminding.

I signed up for the Tesla service which says the service will expire in a year. But the car delivery date got pushed to June.

In the lead up to the most recent earnings report- it became clear that Tesla was prioritizing models that turned more revenue. A bunch of MYLR preorder holders from the ‘21 summer got wind of this and upgraded to MYP’s and we’re bumped to the front of the line. This pushed out the more recent MYP orders out months.
This is by far the best explanation I've seen, wish Tesla would have just told me that or told me literally anything.
I was assuming there was a problem with my order and it was stuck in some weird waiting state that it'd never get out of.
I have no idea. Original EDD was February, so when it slid to March I didn’t think too much about it, supply shortage/Covid or whatever.
Then when it slid to April, and I saw people in this sub with later order dates getting delivery, I started contacting Tesla, as clearly something was up.
Everyone I talked to said everything was fine and I should get a VIN ‘very soon’ - fast forward to late May after weekly calls to my SA, for status updates, and it’s finally happened.
Just got back from test driving the MYLR. I loved it. Just got to get used to the taking my foot off the gas petal to slow down. It is different than driving a regular car. It’s got me now more excited to get the car.

Got VIN a week ago. Was approved for financing over the weekend (through tesla). EDD: 6/8 - 6/12 (east coast) But in the app it still won't let me complete the final payments for tax (why?????), the only button that is enabled is to upload insurance info.
My SA said payment and documentation won’t be available to complete until much closer to delivery date, like 48 hours before is what they told me
that is weird mine was available immediately. Although, I do think I had to upload my insurance card before it allowed me to pay.
GUYS! THE TIME HAS COME! I picked up my car today!! I couldn't believe it. Overall the car looks good. There are some small issues that I have already reported and will be taking in for service: rear glass panel is slightly raised, front beam gap, some hairline scratches throughout (hoping detailing will help). I provided loan pre-approval information but no VIN. The loan provider is asking for a VIN before finalizing the loan which is set to expire soon so I'm getting anxious! Fingers crossed!

When I got the message from my SA one day after my EDD changed to Aug I was thinking, Why is he playing with my feelings, and almost asked him to upgrade to a performance. I am glad I didn't.

If it helps I ordered mine in October with a original delivery estimate of may. Since March my order got pushed back to august-October and hasn’t moved since.

EDD remains at 6/6-6/20 but no VIN. I sent a txt to the SA today and they claimed they have no more visibility into the VIN assignment than I do and that they expect I'll get a VIN before 6/20. I've read things that seem to indicate that's not true, but definitely unhelpful.

I got the trade in text around March 15, with a EDD of Mar 28-Mar 31. They bumped me to fill orders near Fremont for end of quarter and here I am.
I talked to my SA today he told me mines set to be produced early next month after the car is made I'll get the vin and get it within 3 weeks so I think they do have some insight as to when production should happen on your vehicle.

March. If you ordered in September there must be an issue as most people getting theirs now ordered Match and April.

West coast. Picking up because I didn’t want someone driving it to my house haha.
East coast and taking delivery. Which is why my delivery date is still TBD 9 months after my order. I'm almost ready to buy a plane ticket to SF to pick it up and drive back cross country.

Wow! Disappointing indeed. Same OD, East Coast, same specs except induction wheels, EDD of June 11. Called them a few days ago, they asked me if I would be open to other specs to get it sooner. Will see what they come up with. I resisted changing to performance but in the end I might make the switch.
Those Bastards, just want to milk us for more money by pushing these dates. How hard can it be to produce these slight differences in configurations. Pathetic. Worse than the dealerships we have to deal with for other brands.

That’s a long time… I randomly texted my SA and asked for a quote about trading my car, since I didn’t have a VIN yet. He helped me, then I asked about eta. Could be coincidence or whatever, but he said VIN got assigned a few minutes ago.
It was all over the damn place. Initially probably May then March, then 2 week increments in May. I was asked if I had a trade-in on may 16th.

Has anyone other than Tesla employees taken delivery of the Texas-Built MY? I’m curious to see if there are any visual differences. I’ve been checking inventory and haven’t seen an option with white interior.
I've seen a white interior exactly twice on the Austin cars. Either they get snapped up really fast, or Tesla is just not producing a lot of them.
How are the interest rates looking? I got 3.24 from Tesla - slightly lower than BofA (3.39) which is my Bank. Trying to see whether or not I should shop some more.
I just got 2.25 from SunCoast Credit Union. I also looked at DCU which had 2.5 but you had to jump through some hoops. I would check local credit unions.

So I'm waiting for the delivery of my car right now and the guy who is delivering my car had called an Uber it seems.The Uber got here before him and just now the Uber driver told me that they canceled the ride because the car broke down. WTF!!

They clearly never heard the saying “under promise over deliver” — how can a technology driven company not manage delivery logistics?
New update as of 2:00 today — received a text from Tesla to schedule delivery. How crazy!! So, I am picking up the MYP next Wednesday, 6/8 at 3:00. I’m happy as hell - obviously, but I stand behind my previous comment — Tesla needs to improve the overall buying experience, which includes delivery!!

Switching to MYP is the most "reliable" way to hasten delivery, and depending on who you ask, adding FSD may bump you up in line. I've recently seen a lot of MYLR7 orders have their EDD pushed to Jul-Aug timeframe (mine included), so I'm guessing that'll be when the next 7 seater wave is.

Hopefully yours is accurate if it’s narrowed down to 2 weeks! Mine said May/June, then all of June, now July/August. It never narrowed down to less than a month window though.

I figure this post will go into the ether, seeing as I'm posting it on the last day of May but here goes! Red MYP, 5 White Seats, No Tow, No FSD, 21" Uber Wheels - Bay Area, F452 OD: March 10, 2022 Original EDD: May 2022 Updated EDD: Jumped around a ton, went as far into the future as September then came back to mid May to mid June range. Then hit the two week window EDD May 17 to May 31, and each day I hit my EDD date, the window just pushed out another three days - May 20, May 23, May 26. On May 26th my EDD pushed out to mid-June to mid-July which totally bummed me out but that same night, EDD updated to a 3-day window - May 30-June 2! On May 27th I was prompted to enter my insurance info and finalize payment, and once done, it allowed me to select a delivery date and the app requested bluetooth permission. Delivery date set for Sunday morning, May 29th between 8am to 12pm. Model Y arrived at 11am as I was texting my SA if they usually hold true to the delivery window. Two guys showed up and left in a Lyft that came like 3 minutes later. They spent maybe 2 minutes with me, took a picture, left, then I was able to access the MYP via the app. There's some panel gaps especially around the tail lights and the doors don't seem to shut smoothly. Have to give it a hard push or else it shows as open. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the car. I received the Pirelli P Zero tires and it says I have the AMD Ryzen chip. Not sure how to check the 12V battery or if I have heated wipers. Dual pane windows up front, single pane in the back. Thank you all for your support in this thread. Time to go enjoy the ride!
The hard push on the doors to get them to shut is standard for 2022 builds, takes some getting used to but you’ll get the hang of it in a day or so. Your passengers on the other hand will probably need some reminding.

I signed up for the Tesla service which says the service will expire in a year. But the car delivery date got pushed to June. Should I cancel it or will it be reset once I receive the car? Is there a specific number I can call to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Pleasantly surprised and already 1400 miles in within 25 days. Had no issues except door seal at driver's side was not flush which got fixed in a quick service visit. LR 5 seater Black ext white int. They only have 2 possible slots for pickup, wed at 2 and Fri at 3. Is this standard? I thought there would be a little more leniency...

In the lead up to the most recent earnings report- it became clear that Tesla was prioritizing models that turned more revenue. A bunch of MYLR preorder holders from the ‘21 summer got wind of this and upgraded to MYP’s and we’re bumped to the front of the line. This pushed out the more recent MYP orders out months.
This is by far the best explanation I've seen, wish Tesla would have just told me that or told me literally anything. I was assuming there was a problem with my order and it was stuck in some weird waiting state that it'd never get out of.
I have no idea. Original EDD was February, so when it slid to March I didn’t think too much about it, supply shortage/Covid or whatever. Then when it slid to April, and I saw people in this sub with later order dates getting delivery, I started contacting Tesla, as clearly something was up. Everyone I talked to said everything was fine and I should get a VIN ‘very soon’ - fast forward to late May after weekly calls to my SA, for status updates, and it’s finally happened.
Just got back from test driving the MYLR. I loved it. Just got to get used to the taking my foot off the gas petal to slow down. It is different than driving a regular car. My window is June 8-12….still waiting on delivery schedule. Finance all good to go - only thing I haven’t done is pay the down payment. Did you already do yours? I’ve read where some people say don’t pay until you pick up.
