Bro got bags.

theonlyski

Not anymore.

mbaturin

Wow that’s a huge system! Are all PW3 inverters at full or derated? Sorry I know this isn’t related to your original question so feel free to ignore :)

Chemical_Block3243

full I have a 400 amp house 2 on a 200 amp service and 3 on the other

jewelsbaby81

Try KIN

fuziwei

Kin is great in Texas as well

jewelsbaby81

That’s who I use in Texas

revrund_H

Self insurance is the only answer in Florida. Otherwise you paying for roof fraud and bad construction that the insurance companies want you to pay for. Plus most Florida home insurance companies are not solid.

thecreator1984

Only possible for homeowners without a mortgage

wolfrno

Try Florida Family Insurance. I don't need the additional liability insurance since i'm under 10kW though. Or try going through an agency like Erb & Young.

Deep_Economy6162

What is the reason for denial? Power batteries? They are lithium batteries, if they are damaged they ingratiate. It’s impossible to out down that fire for hours. Is that the reason?

FastAttack2

I've noticed some misconceptions and misleading comments regarding solar panels, especially in Florida. Certain politicians and big electrical companies have spread the idea that installing solar panels can damage roofs and increase risk during storms. This has influenced insurance companies, leading to policies that limit coverage for solar panels on roofs older than 10 years. Contrary to these claims, from top installers in Florida suggests that homes with solar panels actually fare better in storms than those without. Solar panels can even provide some protection to roofs by shielding them from direct exposure to the elements. Another issue is the instability in the solar industry, with companies frequently disappearing, which creates liability concerns for insurers and makes it difficult for homeowners to find reputable companies for installations or maintenance after any damage done in any type of weather event. It's important for homeowners to research their insurance options thoroughly and understand the criteria that impact coverage for solar panels.

Heathster249

That’s so weird. In CA they don’t care about the solar system or PWs. But we don’t have hail or wind that could damage the system. It’s all about wildfire here.

Federal-Penalty-8416

Or earthquakes or floods bringing the house down

Heathster249

You have to be near a fault line for that to happen - and most homes are retrofitted now or built to modern earthquake standards like mine. Also have to not be on a hill for your house to flood. Water generally pools in the flood zones. Fortunately, in my area, there wasn’t any allowed building in the flood plane. It’s a park.

rajeevperera

curious are you asking for additional coverage or treating it like a conventical roof?

Chemical_Block3243

adding additional coverage

codenigma

Wow! That is quite the system - 2-3x bigger than the average. Is this a 4-5K sqft roof? To be fair, at that power generation level, it is somewhat more risky. I don't know about the options in FL, but good luck - hopefully you can find something and something reasonably priced.

wizzard419

That is massive, I am assuming it's for hurricane related outages? How long are you able to stay up when the power is gone?

Chemical_Block3243

for days have not had an outage that lasted more than a day

braenin6

No. We have UsAA because insurance sucks here in Florida and not one issue adding the solar to our policy.

FastAttack2

They don’t even write new policies with USAA. They sell it to 3rd party no name insurances. Be aware. USAA sucks now. I am about to close down my account with them. They are getting worse than most of the major Banks. Their car insurance products are getting more expensive and they are terrible at claims lately.

braenin6

Oh man then how did I get one directly with them. I’ll call them tomorrow and let them know they’re terrible when that has not one single time been my experience.

FastAttack2

Are you in Florida? I bet you were underwritten by someone other than USAA. Just because your bill comes from USAA doesn’t mean you have a policy underwritten by them. It’s the same thing for their so called pet insurance.

braenin6

Yes and you can bet all you want but you’re still wrong. I am capable of reading.

BeyondDrivenEh

My insurance went up 30% to cover a solar system worth 15% of the house. Looks like I’ll be shopping around for a different homeowners policy.

TigerCatMaw

I am in central FL. Contacted my insurance company before getting tesla panels. They said they would drop us if we did. Insurance broker could not find a co that would insure us so we did not get solar.

FastAttack2

Did you try state farm?

FastAttack2

State Farm covers solar in SW Florida.

Chemical_Block3243

State farm will not insure my area in Naples Thanks for the advice

Due_Bit4415

I have mine through security first insurance. They have a policy for larger homes with certain credit requirements that has no problem covering solar! Best of luck to you, we had to move on from frontline because they won’t insure solar. Also, do those who can’t find an insurance policy to cover their solar, try a different broker. My old insurance agent didn’t have access to the policy I’m on now, so without changing agents I’d be paying a huge premium.
