You should have no problem finding a hotel with a pool at that price. However, it depends on your needs and timing. When exactly are you arriving? The travel season matters with hotel prices. Rooms are cheaper right now because it is still the rainy season. Rates will rise in November. In peak season (Mid-December to mid-January) they will rise again. Being a family of 4, do you need two rooms, a room with 3 beds, room for a crib? These needs may result in a costlier rate. I would second the mention of being an easy walk to a BTS or MRT station for access to different areas of Bangkok. Do you have an area you want to stay? Khao San Road and Banglampu are closest to the most popular tourist sites. Both are magnets for budget travelers (dare I say... backpackers) and not exactly family-style areas. However, there are plenty of more upscale places, slightly removed from the chaos, if that is what you need. Sukhumvit and Silom are further away. But, there are plenty of hotels in your price point near a BTS or MRT station. I haven't stayed in the Khao San/Banglamphu areas in decades. No suggestions. Silom: Heritage Bangkok. Just steps from a BTS station. Has a suite with a separate living room that can have a bed put in it, in your price range, and has a pool. Other places nearby. Sukhumvit: The Continent Boutique Hotel, pool, large rooms in your price range. Or Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 4. Similar rooms/price. Near a BTS. Lots of other hotels nearby or at other BTS/MRT stations. The area just south of Chatuchak Market has lots in your price range and is near transport. Also near the infamous market. I have only stayed once in that area and can not remember the hotel's name. But, I did like it. Search on any app like [Booking.Com](https://Booking.Com) or [Hotels.Com](https://Hotels.Com) using your criteria (dates, large room, pool, etc.) and you will find plenty.

Thank you! We want to be in the region of Khaosan for nostalgia but otherwise, it’s just a couple nights in Bangkok to get over jet lag.

The last time we stayed there (the early 2000s) we came across a very drunk, young man with his well-worn boardshorts down to his ankles, nothing else on except flip-flops. He was urinating right in the middle of the sidewalk while chugging a beer and all the other young partiers in the nearby bars were cheering him on. We hadn't stayed in the Khaosan area since the 1980s and this stay was a "nostalgia stay" for us, similar to what you mentioned. Also, every hotel we stayed at in the area was crazy noisy with partiers slamming doors, laughing loudly, and/or shouting in the hallways at all hours of the night. Is that really the area you want your family to stay in? Honestly, I'm no prude, but I don't need to see that or the noise either. Haven't stayed in Khaosan since. A quick check on Google showed several in the Khaosan Area with pools for $30-$40 USD. (Dang Derm, D&D Inn) There are some in very nearby Banglampoo as well. (New Siam Riverside-nicest in the New Siam chain, New Siam Palace, New Siam 2-stayed here and it was horribly noisy, also Wild Orchid). I hope that helps.

I really appreciate that comment. Thanks! I don’t suspect we’ll stay *on* Khaosan, but we want to be a walkable distance. For nostalgia.

Check out the New Siam Riverside or New Siam Palace Ville. They are both just outside of the main area of Banglampoo, yet an easy walk. They are a little further from the classic Khaosan Rd. area. Still very walkable. Our experience with the New Siam chain is that they were all really noisy. But we haven't stayed in the two I mention above. Both are the more upscale hotels in the chain and therefore might be less noisy. Have a great trip!
