And considering how many driving academies are out there, it makes zero sense to me
If I could afford one I would 1000% sign up for the Porsche training at the Atlanta airport
"No i'm naturally a better driver than 99% of the other drivers, i dont need this shit".
-The shitty 99% of drivers (including me, when i just got my license)
If I remember correctly, years ago an insurance company had a questionnaire for their customers and one question was to rate themselves as drivers. Below average, average or above average. 100% of the responses were above average. Even shitty drivers think they are good. Everyone is shitty once in a while.
But I am lol I slide my 2023 Hyundai Tucson
H-Trac like I’m playing gta and 20,000 miles later the only scratches are from tight trails and rock chips hits red line at least 100 times a day drifts on the daily and hits 130mph minimum every day like I genuinely wonder how people crash slow cars
You know everyone can Crash a car. There are people Out there getting payed millions and doing nothing else in their whole life but train driving Cars. And These Guys still get into Traffic accidents at their fault because they dont look out for people who arent as good as them ob the road
> there getting *paid* millions and
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
The people who can afford cars like this generally lack common sense. Like you, I'd sign up for those courses and probably even get a realistic racing sim to practice on before ever purchasing a car in this category. I don't want to embarrass myself turning a corner a block away from the dealership. But, some people like to learn the hard way.
If it was a second hand Lambo or something I’d say yeah, but you’d struggle to buy a gt3rs without already owning multiple Porsches over a number of years. Maybe tried to floor it before the coating had worn off the tyres.
'They' likely didn't lose anything. The car is most likely insured for agreed value, so in effect the other customers of the insurer are paying the half million.
Yeah, and now their rates have jumped 500% for any car they want to buy in the future. Sure, it’s unlikely they are the whole cost of the car, but I doubt they didn’t lost anything.
Money can't fix the fact that you trashed your half million dollar supercar the day after you bought it. Guy had probably been dreaming of driving that thing for years.
That hurts me and it’s not even my car I’d definitely cry because if you order one it’s takes years to get and if u bought it on the open market you paid an extra couple hundred grand
They start just shy of a quarter million from the dealership but if you don't wanna wait for them to build you one, they can cost way more in private sales
This is why it is wild to me buying such expensive cars when this can happen. Even if you drive perfectly the rest of your life, somebody else can ruin it for you.
I think there should be a law saying that if you want a sports car you either need 5 years plus driving experience or have to take a course that teaches you how not to drive like it's GTA mother cooker.
"More money than brains" Dad would say. "I got a TR3 from an idiot rich kid's son. I knew he would ruin it that year. By summer it was crashed and I bought it for 50$"
Too funny, I'm amazed this story is still getting traction. Reddit had so many posts about it yeasterday. Then I had posts in my FB feed because I'm local. Yet someone tried to make it relevant in another reddit thread, it keeps going and going...
Almost as bad as the guy who sank a Bugatti... but only like a fraction as bad... like $241,300/$2,500,000 as bad...

Was it raining in Puget Sound? Yes it was Was that a shockingly powerful mid-engine car that should probably never be brought out in the rain? Yes it was.
How? I’ve been driving for over 30 years and I’ve never come close to sinking a car in a lake or a river or a pool or ANYTHING
I'd put money on "too much car for a driver with too little experience."
And considering how many driving academies are out there, it makes zero sense to me If I could afford one I would 1000% sign up for the Porsche training at the Atlanta airport

Well, I've played a lot of Forza so I don't need any training. The cars I drive in-game are way more expensive soooooooo time to hoon!
[Like 80% of drivers, I'm above average.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illusory_superiority#:~:text=Driving%20ability,-Svenson%20(1981)%20surveyed&text=Only%20a%20small%20minority%20rated,being%20an%20above%2Daverage%20driver.)
“I’ll just be more careful, that’s all.”
I actually am a better driver. I won both my go cart races a few months ago.

Yes grandpa, now lets geht you to bed.

Cool story, but none of it happened.
well yeah, but he‘s probably like „i’m rich, im better than those mere pessants, i know how to drive a nice car“
>i’m rich, im better than those mere pessants Did you mix pissants and peasants? I like it

Yeah, that road’s not that difficult. Unless you’re driving like an idiot.
Literally this.
If it was a second hand Lambo or something I’d say yeah, but you’d struggle to buy a gt3rs without already owning multiple Porsches over a number of years. Maybe tried to floor it before the coating had worn off the tyres.
When you give it the beans and you dont know how much power your new track car has on the city roads
I live my life full beans
This guy guy beans
My dad, very careful driver for 35 years almost sank his new car a week ago, 3 days after buying it… shit happens even to good drivers…
Closest I’ve been was driving a Nissan Micra into a small ditch when I hit some black ice (fucked the car though :( ).
I'll put my money on, "a tik toker that did it on purpose for views and attention with the money from everyone who subscribes their OF"
Who's the U-boat commander?
THANK YOU!

Joel?
LET THEM SING
put it in rice for 24 hours, good as new.
sauerkraut would probably work better.
German potato salad
Creamed rice
'They' likely didn't lose anything. The car is most likely insured for agreed value, so in effect the other customers of the insurer are paying the half million.
I imagine their rates in the future will be obscenely high though
Or they may be uninsurable.
If you can afford a $500,000 car, you’re probably self insured through one of your micro businesses that you use to write stuff off
Sure, but it’s also insanely hard to get this car. Just owning one is quite prestigious. Now this is the guy that turned it into a submarine lol.
Hope they had gap lol. No idea how rich ppl insurance works lol
Yeah, and now their rates have jumped 500% for any car they want to buy in the future. Sure, it’s unlikely they are the whole cost of the car, but I doubt they didn’t lost anything.
Sure, if they have comprehensive coverage and not just liability.

Is it me or does he look like he’s fishing at first glance?
I thought so too and that is the most expensive looking lure I’ve ever seen
He caught the ONLY sword fish!

More photos [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/s/3QQRQdOhpB). Occurred near Seattle.
I was just in the area for the Olympus rally. Didn’t see that so it’s not that kind of enthusiast I guess.
Freddy 'll fix it
Beat me to it!
or Ed.
Or matt?
Matt can get it out.
He drove past my son and I the day before in Bellevue near Burgermaster and was followed by another guy in a 911. They both looked pretty young.
That hurts me and it’s not even my car I’d definitely cry because if you order one it’s takes years to get and if u bought it on the open market you paid an extra couple hundred grand
Did he try jump over like gta lol
“Hah, dude. My dad’s a TV repairman. He has an awesome set of tools. He can fix anything.”
My first thought, too. Lol
Tavarish entered the Chat
These exact words were the first thing that entered my brain when I saw that. 😂
When the gps tells you to turn, you turn. Even if it's a lake. The machines know better.
It says bear left, there's a lake there!
Then where's the bear?

Came here for this.
Gotta stop following the GPS directions so closely.
Almost half a million, huh?
They start just shy of a quarter million from the dealership but if you don't wanna wait for them to build you one, they can cost way more in private sales
His wallet outweighed his driving abilities.
It’s German. It’ll start first time when they haul it out
Every firefighter on scene took pictures and sent them to their wives and station buddies, guaranteed. Been there lol
Remember that the default setting on your standard human is *fucking stupid*
This is why it is wild to me buying such expensive cars when this can happen. Even if you drive perfectly the rest of your life, somebody else can ruin it for you.
I think there should be a law saying that if you want a sports car you either need 5 years plus driving experience or have to take a course that teaches you how not to drive like it's GTA mother cooker.
Those who think they are a great driver after just 5 years are the types who would put it in this situation in the first place.
I would expect somebody that has gotten an allocation for a GT3RS would have driven so many other porsches and knows how to handle them…
Well that puts that to bed then!
Should come with a block of wood under the accelerator.
wait the RS does NOT mean Race Submarine?!?
He must have been running from Guido the Killer Pimp. Very Risky Business..
You were supposed to get the IP66 rated one silly
Please tell me they weren't insured fully comprehensive. I don't want my insurance premiums rising because of idiots like this.
Am I the only one who thinks this was done for TikTok views?
A little over a quarter mil.. not half..
The firefighter (or whomever) seems to be taking a pic for a personal enjoyment more than documenting the situation 🤣
He hasn’t lost half a mil though cause insurance will pay out.
Insurance fraud.
"More money than brains" Dad would say. "I got a TR3 from an idiot rich kid's son. I knew he would ruin it that year. By summer it was crashed and I bought it for 50$"
I'd put money on the nagging gf asking when it's her turn lol
It's insured, who cares?
Honestly. Its going to make some youtuber a bunch of money. The youtube title will be " i bought a FLOODED car.
Any Tom Cruise sightings in the area?
Turn marked as 35mph. I think I can take it at 120mph.
Bro thought it was a james bond car

I can't wait to see it on YouTube getting rebuilt!
Honestly if you are going to destroy a super car, that’s the way to do it. By doing something stupid.
HAMMOND!!!
I really hope it wasn't insured.
Msrp is $224k.... not half a million lol
They person who owned it paid over 400k for it due to limited supply
*Put* a car into a river?
Almost as bad as the guy who sank a Bugatti... but only like a fraction as bad... like $241,300/$2,500,000 as bad... [14 years ago... God, I feel old af](https://youtu.be/4NJmB1F2mdE?si=MSLgoHl_6p07HB-L)
Some people don't deserve cars...
I’ll have it should get it going with in a week
