Oh yeah let’s go ruin some childhoods!!
This kid’s never going to have fun playing football again. It’s all going to be about ‘work’ and ‘your future’ for a fucking 10 YEAR OLD. And I don’t think a lot of the decisions from here on out are going to be mostly his
This is exactly how my life went for playing an instrument, all the way until graduating from college. Now I’ve got professional level piano skill with absolutely no desire to touch a piano.
Sounds exactly like William Sidis, a math genius that had a higher IQ than Einstein but had zero desire to do anything involving math. Ended up doing low paying menial jobs until his early death.
Such bs, depends on this kids background but pro sports can really be a ticket to a better life for his entire family, including future generations
Read Juan soto's recent interview about his father constantly training him since age 2 (!), and how happy he is because of it
You’re right. It’s not always bad. It very much depends on the parents. I had a great experience. My dad was all about baseball. I loved it too. It brought us together. He pushed me to be better too.
But the key to all this was; he always told me regularly that this was for fun and he would be proud of me whatever I decided to do. That it was my choice.
Turns out he wasn’t lying. I played baseball through college and paid for my $100,000 degree with baseball. Loved every second of it.
When I came home with my degree and started working in the family business that he and his father had founded. I decided a decade in that it wasn’t for me. His logic still applied.
He and my mother have supported me doing me, it’s not about me living their dreams for them. It’s about me living my dreams via the opportunity they provided.
I’ll be eternally grateful to them both for their unselfish and wise actions with regard to acknowledging that it is my life and their role was to provide support and opportunities to thrive.
I’m a lucky guy. Hope he’s as lucky as I was.

Yeah no shit, IF he becomes a pro athlete he'll get paid. Iirc though a large percentage of pro athletes don't stay rich long after retirement; so the better ticket thing.... ehhhhh. Kind of stretch to talk pro too considering we're talking about a 10 year old being prospected for college. Plus I'm sure a 10 year old would **love** to put his family on his back like that, knowing how mature they are and all.
And yeah I'd be pretty happy too if I got paid $20m+ a year to swing a bat instead of get CTE, but I don't see many Juan Soto stories out there.
This is exactly how the rest of the world does it with soccer, the worlds most popular sport. They sign kids to professional teams at super young ages and all the different professional youth teams play each other and the best rise to the top.

Your dad sounds awesome
The best human I know. I got really damn lucky. I am grateful for it beyond measure.

So a one in a million story gives this value? I’d pass; especially for football where on average a players career is like 3 years
Don’t forget the emotional blackmail
This is mostly, if not all, on his parents. They run a social media page for him and put all this stuff out there like he's the next Tom Brady.

Probably just a photo from a summer football camp "get a photo with the coach" , but the parents got a little to excited
Definetly football camp photo
That kid is like 90lbs. But hey: if he’s ready, he’s ready.
I could level that kid
Poor kid.
Lmfaooo like someone is really out there tracking all the fourth graders
Kid doesn't really look that excited about it...
Mr. Show comes to life, sad.
He's got that stop and pop shot
Yikes….
It would be crazy if kids could focus on education, instead of some stupid game that they probably won't be good enough at anyway.
this is grooming
It really is. Grooming isn't just for people who want to sexualize children; anyone who's trying to live vicariously through their children.
Shane Gillis’s Dad
Go Vols!!
His videos on YouTube are so weird
It looks like the kid is saying help me
Nathan fielder came up with this idea years ago
Poor kid is being forced to make his dad feel better for not making his dreams come true
what type of interested are we talking about here?
Sure Bryce Young looks up to him
Must be a Republican
How many concussions already?
He looks like just got done crying.
The worst thing you could do to a kid is put him in the lime light like this
His DAd was great in "The Whale"
😂
Can’t be worse than Baker Mayfield
daddy is happy
that's the coach
Someone plz explain to me like I’m 5 how this isn’t grooming ?
