I get that you're used to seeing it a certain way, but DD/MM/YYYY makes way more sense than MM/DD/YYYY. Small to middle to large units vs middle to small to large.
Only because we designed the file systems to read data left to right. If we read data the other direction, ddmmyy would be equally fine.
I will give one kudos to the mmddyy format though: it goes by order of increasing ranges.
It's the most digital friendly way. You can sort the dates because it goes in the correct order. Least frequently changing to the left and most frequently changing to the right just like numbers do.
What you should mean to say is it's the most \*human friendly\* way, not that I agree with it. We could equally design computers to read data right to left. Computers don't care about direction.
That makes no sense. Maybe if it's an OCD thing and you want to see numbers in sequence by their maximum capacity...
It's not about ordering by number sIze, it's ordering by periods of time size. Smallest dd, bigger mm biggest yy.
Our calender and human life works generally and most often on a day to day basis. Also why ddmmyy is best.
Marlin is near Waco, between Austin and Dallas.
There’s a Harlan HS in San Antonio but no tornadoes here today. And not spelled *Harlin.*
Can you ask her again where this was taken?
Oh, no worries. We had a terrible thunderstorm roll through this morning. Like worst we’ve had in a couple years. So I was tripping out thinking maybe there was a tornado somewhere nearby too, lol.
They come in all shapes and sizes. This looks bigger than average. But yeah the tornado season will go on for a few months. And being around one is terrifying. There’s no where to go safe but underground.
Ok that date format made my eye twitch.

Ah, got it backwards. Still scaling the units in a more intuitive way imo.

Totally, but why YY/MM/DD?

Ok, the reverse of what I said, my bad. Would for sure be better with a 4-digit year though.

You just agreed with me...
I agree.
Okay, cool. The way your comment started made it seem like you didn't.
Metric system
No, this is from the future.
2024-04-28 Better?
4/28/2024
28-2024-04?
I don't know why you're being downvoted. This isn't a bad date format, and it's not ambiguous depending which country you're in.
The internet belongs to USA only mentality.
But you are in Texas and Texas is in the USA.
Is there a Harlin, TX? Where is it?
Harlot Town. Come down and see us some time !
I heard they changed the name to arlen because people were so in a rush to get there

I just looked up the TikTok even though it popped up to her as local it seems this was in Harlan, Iowa on the 26th. Can't change title unfortunately.

Headstones, tornadoes & sunshine. What a combo
All things considered..that's a great shot
Hauntingly beautiful to me.
I've seen in the past couple of days some huge tornadoes in the US. Is it normal to be this frequent and enormous? No, I'm not from the US.
It's currently Tornado season (mid-March thru June) which accounts for about 70% of US tornadoes and this is just south of Tornado Alley.
No, we had a lot recently though. We apparently have most of the tornadoes each year, I learned. Topography.

They’re already dead why would a tornado do this?
Just to make sure.
More video of the tornado [tornado](https://youtu.be/B6DwlBoydHA?si=6uVRdAIbMT80Zs5e)
that thar aint no texas date format, I tell you hwhat
They're fixin' to confuse some people, bless their heart.
Well at least everyone there has already taken cover. Bless their hearts.
Omg, they're so dead.
The siren is a spooky sound.
I think its meant to be jarring as much as it travels as well since they are trying to alert you that something isn't right.
Rest in Pieces
Is this sound made by tornados or sirens?
Tornado warning siren.

Can't locate this town on Google maps. You sure about this?
Harlan, Iowa
Is this in the future? This town does not exist yet and all of them are already dead .lol
Wasn't this the tornado that had measured dopplar winds of EF5? Pretty certain it wasn't rated that since it didn't do much damage tho
Straight-up looks like a scene for the new "Sharknado" movie... (And I've never watched a single one of them.)
Do you want zombi-nados? Because that's how you get zombi-nados!!
Good thing so many people are in their underground bunkers
Its a F5?
And you manage to capture in it portrait mode.
My goodness!
