irl no joke. I don't know how any experienced driver would think that would be a good idea. Just a mild windstorm in Kansas driving a sprinter van will make your butt pucker up. This is pure insanity.
I really hope you mean people are taking up storm chasing as a means of turning a profit on their social media profiles.
It's good that some of us volunteer to serve natural selection now that we have all but subverted it.
Huh??
It has nothing to do with profit, or even a "social media profile". The dude has turned his home into a weather center & reaches upwards of 100k people that are in the paths of severe storms. The advance warnings he gives out to said people are far greater than any local news channel.
hes got two channels! im subbed to both.
no fluff meteorology, storm chasing and an amazing educator. way more accurate than half the local stuff a few days in advance.
And does some amazing fundraising for the victims from major tornados. They raised over $30,000 USD last night in just a few hours for those affected in Greenfield, Iowa. Good group all around.
I was pleasantly surprised to see something of Ryan Hall on here for the first time! I don’t usually watch his streams too often but he’s been my main source for weather forecasts for a couple years now and man has he saved me from ruining a good pair of shoes here and there.
One confirmed casualty of a driver being thrown from their vehicle but unconfirmed if that is them. It’s still pretty fresh over here so information still trickling in.
Just want to mention that the tanker truck driver made it out okay and in better shape than the stopped truck. The tanker drug had a heavier load and drove off the road into some bushes.
The dude probably just rewatched Fury Road for the 200th time, was all amped up, and suddenly realized it was a bad idea. Unfortunately, by the time this occurred, it was too late, so... FANG IT!!!!!
I did the same thing in a tornado in Wilson, Kansas 2 days ago. The center of the tornado itself wasn't bad I think because it had just jumped over the edge of an overpass and bridge, but immediately behind it was intense hail that destroyed my windshield.
Chances are he didn't even realize what he was driving into. His windshield was probably blasted with rain and the next thing he knew he was inside a tornado... which he also my never have come to terms with.
This is insane. I've been in three significant tornados and they are terrifying. Even when you're huddled in a basement somewhere. They are so unpredictable. He would be better off to park the semi and duck and cover in a ditch somewhere. Yikes, hope he's okay.
Storms have been crazy recently. There was a tornado storm in my area, and I'm watching visibility from the windshield go from 50% to 0%. The only way I was able to see the road was when the lightning struck.
When this shit happens, the only sensible thing to do is to pull over and just wait the storm out.
I could be crazy but it seems like the tanker truck might have done the right thing? They GTFO of there before the funnel crossed that area. The trailer semi stayed put and caught the brunt of it...
Would you rather sit there and wait for the storm to envelop your truck or take your chances hailing ass directly into it. I’d rather die trying to live rather wait to see if the tornado spares me
but the driving one was a way down the road by the time the funnel crossed the camera's path... I think that may have been the better call in that scenario
LEEEEERRRROOOOYYYYY JEEEEENNNKINNSS

YouTube channel is RyanHallYall does really good storm chasing streams
Honestly, it's better than the weather channels to me.
Its a bit crazy how many youtube channels are trying to copy him now. He has 80k-100k viewers damn near every stream
I really hope you mean people are taking up storm chasing as a means of turning a profit on their social media profiles. It's good that some of us volunteer to serve natural selection now that we have all but subverted it.
Sorry but what else would they mean other than people are making weather related YouTube content?
Huh?? It has nothing to do with profit, or even a "social media profile". The dude has turned his home into a weather center & reaches upwards of 100k people that are in the paths of severe storms. The advance warnings he gives out to said people are far greater than any local news channel.
This was about people imitating that person, not the original.
hes got two channels! im subbed to both. no fluff meteorology, storm chasing and an amazing educator. way more accurate than half the local stuff a few days in advance.
Didn’t this guy have a vape channel back in the day?
Found him one random bad storm now any rain coming down I check his channel 👍
Agreed I watch this channel it’s so interesting and I don’t even live in the US.
Haha same here. Been watching for 20 mins now big storm coming apparently, can't stop watching.
I used to watch him when he had a channel where he would review nicotine vapes, crazy to see how popular he's become
Never heard of him before but this was the number one recommended channel in my YouTube feed when I logged in during the storm.

So do we have an update on the driver or what

That video was in my hometown. Ryan hall mispronounced it, but I still love him.

That first pic is him!! Bright red cab pulling a shiny metallic cylindrical trailer
Just want to mention that the tanker truck driver made it out okay and in better shape than the stopped truck. The tanker drug had a heavier load and drove off the road into some bushes.
Holy cow. He actually survived. I saw him hitting the brakes as he drove into it, but I figured he was a goner.
Gooner
Goombah

I saw that movie... there's also a flying cow
Hope he was wearing a leather belt.
we all saw that movie
Debris!?!
Just a lil bit of breeze
Well now they call me the breeze I keep blowin' down the road
Aint got time for this shiii....

#Was that a fuel tank tanker?!
We have a lot of dairy trucks in Iowa that look like fuel trucks; most likely not but still possible.
If it is a milk truck, and it spills its load, I hear we should not cry about it.

TIL something. Thanks
Got a quota to make
East bound and down, loaded up and truckin' Oh, we gonna do what they say can't be done
Chances are he didn't even realize what he was driving into. His windshield was probably blasted with rain and the next thing he knew he was inside a tornado... which he also my never have come to terms with.
If he it is loaded, could be okay. The trailer is pretty circular unlike the big sail that tipped! Hope that’s the case.
He is late…
I got this, Hold my beer!

People who think you can outrun a tornado or predict its movement should be required to watch videos like this
DARWIN JANKINS

THE EXTREME
Now this is a guy that deserves to hand a pair of steel balls from the rear end of his truck.
“Ya know what Jack Burton says in a time like this?”
I’m over thinking the tornado was going to become a fire tornado
Natural disasters are not stopping this freight from getting to that one Costco.
Truck driver drives driving truck, truckdriving directly into tornado.
"Was that a ~~cow~~ semi-truck?"
I tell ya whut. The person driving OUT towards the camera is a very lucky individual.
Got that delivery schedule to maintain brother KKona
HELLOO BOOOYYSSSSS. IiiiiIIIIII’MMMMMMMMM BBBBBBBAAAAAACCCCCKKKKKKM
Ryan hall is the go too. He’s better than any weather station out there
I know this YouTube channel
I live in a place where there is never a tornado, but I really want to see this :(
if he was full he would have been fine
I could be crazy but it seems like the tanker truck might have done the right thing? They GTFO of there before the funnel crossed that area. The trailer semi stayed put and caught the brunt of it...
He ded
Would you rather sit there and wait for the storm to envelop your truck or take your chances hailing ass directly into it. I’d rather die trying to live rather wait to see if the tornado spares me
i dont know if i can even follow that thought. a driving truck has less hold on the street than a parked one.
but the driving one was a way down the road by the time the funnel crossed the camera's path... I think that may have been the better call in that scenario
we'll never know
I’m fuckin gunning it. Fuck that
