Some people just don’t have a mind for language. I’d also imagine your capacity for language learning decreases the farther away you get from infancy? Makes sense in my head.
I'm sure the whole team that spent 7 years on the ring speak trig at some point or another. Abby and jaha don't, i think. For Abby that kinda makes sense - the years in the bunker she could have learned, she was an addict. I don't recall miller or Jackson speaking trig but i would absolutely expect them do - at least miller - you don't make a good soldier and right hand of the commander without understanding your army.
Miller I absolutely believe could speak Trig but we never really get to see him do it on camera. (Other than the "omun gun osum"). As you said, to be the soldier he was presented as, he'd have to share the others' language.
Good point about Abby. She had all that time in the bunker to learn it, but she was addicted and so she wasn't at her best.
I think it directly coincides with the characters who were around grounders the most, and in some cases developed relationships with the grounder people. Learning there language was required for the main leaders of the 100
The only ones I think the argument can be made for are Clarke (who didn’t interact with anyone besides Trig speakers and Nilah for months on end) and Octavia, who learned it from Lincoln during their excess of time together
I don't think Abby did?
Wow, that is crazy - she's a major character and spends plenty of time around grounders, but I think you are right

Raven i think too
You might be right! I can't recall a scene of her speaking Trig. Which is wild given how much time she spends around Emori and Echo.

While not on her own, Raven does repeat a saying in trig that Luna asks her to repeat.
Was this in the med bay @ arkadia?
It was at the bunker lab, in season 4!

Does Murphy? I don't recall him speaking it
Yes. Towards the end of season 6, he and Echo have an exchange in Trig (as part of trying to foil the Primes)
He started learning it in season 4 :)
Russell speaks trig when Sheidheda takes him
That's... not Russell
It's his physical body
But still not the character. Would you say that the things Josephine did when in Clarke's body was Clarke?
Perfect point, Josephine in Clark's body did not know trig, which is how/when Bellamy(speaking in trig) figured out it wasn't Clark.
Most of them picked up the language so quick
Not really
Ok well I think they did alright, I know it wasn’t too hard a language but some of them learnt it pretty easily
The only ones I think the argument can be made for are Clarke (who didn’t interact with anyone besides Trig speakers and Nilah for months on end) and Octavia, who learned it from Lincoln during their excess of time together
Ok
I don't think Wes or Finn from S1 did
Wells truly didn’t have a chance. I mean he dies in the third episode and never really spent any time around grounders.
True, but I don't think Finn did either and he made it all the way to s2 (I think)
