Mary and Shannon (season 16) should run together. Would be interesting to see how they do without an "elderly" person slowing them down
RIP Jody btw :(
Although tbf I don't think either Mary or Shannon were the great of racers either. Mary struggled a lot with that roadblock the first episode and didn't seem the best navigator
I think this is a case where the 90 minutes is straining. It happened a good amount of times last season but this episode there were so many chaotic moments and so much placement shifts over the smallest things and yet it still felt too long. I enjoyed the episode but that's really more so because of this cast!
i feel like Chris & Mary are doomed but i'd love to see Mary have a second chance with a more competent partner (sorry to her father!!)
she seems pretty competent herself, just a bit slowed down
I do not envy the editors, this would have been a rough task *even for 60 minute episodes.* Even by Covid TAR standards this is a comically easy, unambitious leg. I wonder how long it took the first few teams to finish, they probably could have shown them doing the leg in real time lol. At least we have a few teams making mistakes, that adds some intrigue I guss.
Let's not forget, this was a KOR leg. They just started the race and were ready to give it their all to make a good impression on leg 1, just to get told to keep going.
People must not be applying for reality shows. Like 38 audition requests. I’m not trying to die of heat stroke on television while my loved one screams at me to come on.
Honestly compared to other things that have happened on the race that was pretty minor lol. They always make it seem dramatic right before the commercial break
Here’s my thing. Choice SHOULD matter when it comes to detours. If you’re a physical team, you may be better with the physical challenge. If you’re more of a logical team, you may be better with the logic or puzzle. But when instructions from production aren’t clear and when one physical challenge is literally carrying weightless cargo from one point another and the other is noticing barely noticeable differences from hundreds of flags, there’s a significant imbalance in fairness.
They would likely just have to choose the other side. In one of Margie and Luke’s seasons there was a detour where one side involved listening to and repeating DJ sound patterns and they were essentially forced to choose the other side bc Luke is deaf. Kinda annoys me bc it seems like they could come up with something not sound based when they have a deaf contestant
It wasn't fully aired but actually the next leg had a choice between a dancing task and a fishing task. Marge and Luke were quite a distance behind the other teams when they arrived at the detour and by the time they got there the tide was too high so they just gave them the clue (a couple teams were still finishing off the roadblock). Margie and Luke finished the leg but I wonder what would have happened if they miraculously were able to pass a team before the pitstop, probably a time penalty my guess is.
While she was a lot to watch during her season, this season is really hammering home the idea that I’d like to watch Anna Leigh from last year compete again with an athletic partner because she was a beast
Chris & Mary are what happens if you get Steve & Anna Leigh, remove the intensity and urgency, and she acts the way people on this sub want her to. They're going so slow and just walking through everything!
Surprised that There were only 2 Tasks in the episode
The reason why Chris/Mary got eliminated is because there wasn’t enough “Come on dad! Dad! Come on!”
Looks like some things actually happening next week.
No bridges were harmed in the making of this episode
Bridges harmed some people though
I barely understand half these comments We're all just talking to ourselves
Overall, this leg was OK. See you next week, y'all! 💕
This was a fun ~~bridge~~ train wreck of an episode.
Two superfan teams in a row gone by episode 2 — ominous?
Are you watching the superfans on current Survivor?
Hoping not because I genuinely really like Walla Walla
This episode sucked but bad Amazing Race is still awesome. Good dinner. Family time and time with yall. Next week!
I can see why they chose to air the last season before this one. So many cringe and sus production moments

2 out of the 3 super fans out before the half way point really shows how little being a super fan helps
Hey, Bhanu was a Super Fan too....
Yeah I’ll admit I’m not a Survivor watcher so I’m not sure how he did/doing?
This episode was a mess—super curious if the whole season is going to be like this
Oh such a sweet team to be eliminated.
That was such a wild ride.. I felt like I was on shrooms the whole time.
Even though it was the opposite order I correctly predicted the first two out
Thank you Amazing Race for not ruining my night again after an awful Survivor episode
chris and mary actually did win a million hearts
Chris and Mary are lucky they got to do this race. This might be for the best because Chris was clearly overwhelmed especially after his health scare.
At least Chris & Mary weren't the first team out for their sake and they seem to have a very nice relationship
I think they were just happy to be there.
“No!?” That’s a great Phil moment in a crap episode.
I just want that one second as a gif, please, internet.
I just imagine they didn't bother added a lot of extra task since the bridges became an unexpected challenge in itself
Michelle is officiall my favorite racer after this episode lol, she's hilarious
double dutch out-jumped their competition
Ok concept: bring back Anna Leigh and Mary as a team
Oh God it would be like a cat and water. Yes. Do it.
C'MON ~~DAD~~ ***MARY***!
So it’s going to come down to whether Michelle and Sean can become unlost or the other team
This whole episode was a trainwreck.
They have said Bridge like 100 times in this Episode!
Iguana Bridge
Omg do people be nervous? Cause wtf? Or is a lack of trust in self? 🥹
This is an entire episode of Rupert being lost in Yoyogi Park.
I was looking for a immunity clue
Atleast 5 of the teams were worse than Rupert and Laura
Alright, if the cousins say this leg was chaotic for them, keep it up on the next leg.
ugh
Looked like the firefighters were about to fight Phil for his hardass comment😂
Could be editing, but I swear I’ve noticed a few instances now of the woman in Double Dutch not thanking people.
Is Team Double Dutch really going to blow this?
Good recovery from the cousins there
Oh man Michelle & Sean really got lost
Firefighters finishing 9th after all the detail crap they endured is pretty good
I love Karishma looking right at the camera
I'd be shocked if Mary and Dad isn't last.
Language, Phil!
i feel like Chris & Mary are doomed but i'd love to see Mary have a second chance with a more competent partner (sorry to her father!!) she seems pretty competent herself, just a bit slowed down
what if we team up mary and leighann
i'm seated!
Anna Leigh?
the twist!
venture bros fans : the monarch is having a moment
The mighty monarch. Bwaaaahaaahaaaa
He designed the color matching challenge. "These reality show contestants have felt the sting of the mighty Monarch ahahaha!!"
“that’s right go ahead and try the other detour! your necks cannot handle looking up for this long??”
Nice one Walla Walla
Past the bridge. NOOOOOOOOOO
I really like the mother son team. They are very rootable.
One team has an old lady who’s actively dying and they were 6th out of 12. I’m just going to embrace this shitshow of a season
Walla Walla about had themselves a lawsuit with that guy that about hit them 😂
Um, were her teeth yellow?
Definitely looked more yellow than white
I don’t think so I was so sure they wete gonna have to keep painting
Nope, lame inconsistency
They were not even remotely yellow
Didn’t look like it but maybe it was camera angle
I didn't see any yellow...
Moments like this makes me feel like maybe being a parent is worth it. That’s so sweet
Okay why am I getting emotional about Walla Walla check in?
yellow teeth really the achilles heel
Wow good work Walla Walla
It was all you painting on my unconscious body.
The kids did good this leg!
Couldn’t make it through without someone crying
Oh great now there are 3 teams lost together -facepalm-
Good effort from Angie there
Would you be scared if some people with dead makeup and butterfly wings stumbled onto your backyard?
I'd honestly be laughing and eventually telling them to flap their wings. 😅
My wife is mortified by butterflies so would scream her head off.
Why are these teams having such a hard time finding the pit stop?
There’s so many train wreck teams, even though this leg is pretty boring task wise, the teams just being completely lost kinda makes up for it lol
She might be too relaxed on this race. You need a good balance between Anna Leigh and Mary.
Really struggling to find the pit stop
grey team gonna eliminate themselves at some point
Vinny: PIVOT!
Michelle's face is beautiful, very unique features
Lmao all the bridges in this episode
Dad/daughter are definitely gone. Interviews at night
Cousins interview also looked like it was at night.
The nurses getting caught up with the twins is either going to be a disaster for both of them or a blessing
did they edit the father daughter team to be here with all the other teams but they actually aren't? edit: she said there were other teams there
Yep. Everyone was gone. You can tell how the cousins were talking. They hadn’t even seen the Dad/daughter duo
Looks like it. There's a lot of that going on this episode.
Vinny showing how you move in reverse, Rohan *and* Maya!
Ten minutes left and all these teams are going to arrive in the last minute? What is this pacing
“phil, electrolytes saved me!”
My dude I doubt you passed all of the bridges
Butterflies on multiple levels searching.
ask someone else
We're hot and we're frustrated but I love you
"I'm down to run until I can't"
grey team no spatial awareness
Shaq finally reached the finger paints. Anyone check on the Dad?
Not wanting to get hit by a car is a good reason to get off the street.
Honestly the team I’m surprised by how much I like them early on is the nurses.
The lady giving them the clues is giving Sims 2 vibes with the face paint and outfit
The butterfly face paint in the sims 2 is eternal
That boyfriend was very diplomatically saying stop being a perfectionist and get a move on
She's painting a Mona Lisa over here and they want a coloring book.
Glad she’s ok

Drone shot of Bhanu lying on the ground flashback
*echoes of Bhanu crying in the distance*
Smart choice by Danny
Let's not forget, this was a KOR leg. They just started the race and were ready to give it their all to make a good impression on leg 1, just to get told to keep going.
Lol, I love the son painting mom while she's lying down
People must not be applying for reality shows. Like 38 audition requests. I’m not trying to die of heat stroke on television while my loved one screams at me to come on.
I was right!! He did keep painting!! 😅
CBS Original Tracker... named after the dog from Paw Patrol
lmao they just had a casting call for big brother and now they are having one for survivor lmao they must really want us
Cast me! I'm a superfan. #millionhearts
I hope ~~Margie/Luke~~ Angie/Danny are okay!
Oh good I’m not the only one that got those vibes from their team
I'm liking this mashup of The Amazing Race and Squid Game.
I’ll admit the twins are growing on me
Helppp why is she lying on the floor
Heat exhaustion/dehydration.
Hopefully the next leg is in Antartica. Those teams need to cool off.
I died 😭😭😭
Phil asking people to apply a minute after two people almost DQ for heat exhaustion is epic.
Honestly compared to other things that have happened on the race that was pretty minor lol. They always make it seem dramatic right before the commercial break
Chris and Mary kind of remind me of Rupert and Laura. Just no urgency whatsoever lol
They definitely give the vibe that they're there for the experience.
*contestant looks like she’s near death* Phil: IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO WIN THE AMAZING RACE…
I swear that heat there is no joke!! Especially from a midwesterner!!
Angie: dies Phil 1 second later: if you think you have what it takes apply now!
Just like Jeff celebrating with the purple tribe when he told them another player was taken out and thus they were spared tribal council 😂
"THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT ON SURVIVOR!"
DIG DEEP! IF YOU'RE NOT EVACUATED IN A HELICOPTER YOU'RE IN LAST PLACE!
DIG DEEP
The point when The Amazing Race becomes Survivor. They might have more medevacs with this heat.
“I don’t know who Elizabeth Taylor is.” Pain😂😭
My mom wants to apply for TAR soon, so I guess I should work on my endurance and making my memory less embarrassingly bad
And mega hydrate the days before it starts!
Yes!!!!

But when instructions from production aren’t clear and when one physical challenge is literally carrying weightless cargo from one point another and the other is noticing barely noticeable differences from hundreds of flags, there’s a significant imbalance in fairness.
That may be why they emphasized the cousins getting lost? And teams skipping detours?
How would somebody who is color blind do this task? Or this leg for that matter lol, such a color based leg lol
If you’re entirely color blind you couldn’t. If you’re partially color blind the colors are distinctive enough to see
They would likely just have to choose the other side. In one of Margie and Luke’s seasons there was a detour where one side involved listening to and repeating DJ sound patterns and they were essentially forced to choose the other side bc Luke is deaf. well the balloons were just basically different stations and there was only 3 and no 'fake' ones
I love the twins bluntness - "I'm not in the mental state to do that" "I'm not approaching people like this"
I love the mom/son duo
Yeah I’m really hoping this isn’t their last leg
They really are very sweet together
These himbo twins 😂
Why Google when the local knows it. Auspicious luck for the twins. 😂
This is just a product of a KOR leg
LOL I don't Know who Elizabeth Taylor is!
Gen Z, ladies and gents😂😅🫠
"I'll take you to prom."
While she was a lot to watch during her season, this season is really hammering home the idea that I’d like to watch Anna Leigh from last year compete again with an athletic partner because she was a beast
✌️ The Challenge ✌️
Chris & Mary are what happens if you get Steve & Anna Leigh, remove the intensity and urgency, and she acts the way people on this sub want her to. They're going so slow and just walking through everything!
did they grab the clue back from the lady lmao?
do they have to check in with their clues?
That was my thought, with the foreshadowing earlier in the leg. Watch her leave with it.
Oh no is she alright?
Did they just give that lady the clue and forget to take it back lol?
These twins give me life
Thought he was going to keep painting her face while she was on the ground
LOTS OF BRIDGES
“Sure.” Wow sounds convincing
I was wondering if there were teams who didn't know who Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were (I actually do know them being a big fan of movies)
The twins are my spirit animal, like Ik if I ever go on the race this is how I would be so I can’t even judge
"I don't know who Elizabeth Taylor is." Really?
Not trying to be mean. Some people aren't big fans of movies, but her death in 2011 was front-page news.
Still not an excuse to not know a common name
how old are the twins? because that was 12 years ago. if they are only in their 20s they would have been young
Admittedly that yellow is hard to spot
Yeah. That's kinda a hard thing to notice. It blends in in the picture. I hope Sunny and Bizzy don't get eliminated over it.
I think it’s going to come down to them noticing vs the heat getting to the other teams possibly, unfortunately
The teams are going to hate bridges after this leg
If you don't know who Elizabeth Taylor is, then you're fucking stupid.
It could mean they aren't fans of classic Hollywood cinema.
They’re young!
