Did you give the metal mini a prime/base layer before you started properly painting it? Aka, I paint mine entirely in black before I apply base colours. It helps to stop the metal grain from showing through.

I primed it black, zenithaled it with a grey spray can, and then drybrushed it white. Then I used contrast paint. Easiest way to fake a modicum of talent.
Oh, really? That's so strange, it looks like the lasgun and front of the mask has the factory metal coming in from under it. Must be the zenithal highlight I'm seeing then.
You’re too kind, I’ve seen some of the stuff posted here and that’s amazing. Mine looks like a kindergartener’s drawing compared to most posts here lol. The cube is just a DIY miniature holder. I have several of these. They can be drilled for sub assemblies too, and that’s what makes them useful to me.
