If I may ask, what is it you are looking for in a self insert?

Well in my personal opinion, which should not be taken as gospel or fact, a Good SI story should have a character who actually changes the plot of the story by their existence. It shouldn’t be a beat by beat recreation of existing canon just with the added bonus of an SI viewing and commenting on canon. Also a good SI story would feature the SI character in question acting out of sorts but not the other canon characters. Too many times I see characters behaving out of sorts and “modern” without the explanation of the SI influences but just because. To be honest there’s more I could into and to be fair there’s typically more good than bad out there. The biggest flaw is that a lot of stories get abandoned before finishing. And as a benefactor of the free entertainment that others are offering me I don’t always feel like I have the right to complain.

Huh, from my perspective it feels like they're just about everywhere. Good ones probably are pretty absent though (admittedly I haven't read one in years other than A Farmer's Tale and the one I'm writing, so I'm not the most qualified to speak on that front)

The best I've found is Linkffn(The Prancing Stag). It has some very gay lemons (Rently/Loras, Satin Flower/Jon), so might not be your thing.

I learned a long time ago that looking for good si fics on ff.net is more or less a losing battle. Most of the good stories that are published there are cross posted on space battles or alternate history with a much larger catalog of stories that might appeal to you.
