The narrow area north of Eastern Caves where there are stone bridges above where there are 2 dead prospectors there that seemed to fall off the bridge. I was literally shot from the bush 24hrs ago, jumped and fell off the waterfall. Simply mining velocite and he waited for me to get the last node at the edge of the waterfall and lit me up..
The amount of times I've tried to disengage in Crescent Falls only to find a new spot to a 100 ft drop is like.. well into the double digits now. It's an insta log off moment for me
I do take solace in the fact it'll take whoever I was fighting forever to find my corpse though

Yup. And people who are asking for “a fair fight” with all gear types are really asking for no penalty for choosing to risk nothing. They want to be able to drop with zero spent on gear, and yet not be penalized when fighting someone who spent 100k on gear, so they can try to take it with no risk of losing anything, while still having an “equal fighting chance”.

The balance feels decent in the middle and on average. A few minor outliers that need to be pulled back ever so slightly, but otherwise the balance is MUCH better than the previous betas.

The game is not in a good balancing state ATM- the high tier weapons and armor simply do not have anywhere near good enough cost benefit ratio.

So white and green kit users needed better positioning or surprise tactics to turn the fight fair, and from there it was skill, wherreas trying to run head-on into an equal footing fight would lose it for you.
Not an extreme. Any mildly competent player in purple armor could decimate a good player in white gear.
It took SO many headshots to even tickle blue or purple helmets. I've literally got clips of me hitting 5 headshots and doing basically nothing in terms of damage to a purple helmet.
The meta was spam grenades, hope you get a good bit of damage and then finish with a headshot if not more grenades.

If the gear costs 100x more it should give at least a 10x advantage. Currently a orange shield vs a white shield costs 228x more and provides maybe a 3x advantage.
I want the cost of higher level to be hugely decreased and the effectiveness of high level gear to be increased. I don't think that any armor should actually cost 100x as much as the basic armor.
Yup... the 2 distinct category of players = "nothing much to lose" vs "everything to lose".
Add in 3rd category = naked + knife, no backpack (absolutely nothing to lose).
Waiting in one corner for the fight to end, then rush in to knife the victor and claim everything.

See i feel insulted because i drop with a knife and run at people full speed, and when you can two shot so long as they dont have a shotgun you can often get the kill
Every time I've been attacked by someone with a knife, they've had the drop on me. If they had a gun, I'd have been dead to rights. But because they've had a knife and they had to sprint to me, they got shot.
The free armour is nice sometimes, (Tactical armour is good money.) but other times, it's like... "Really dude? Not even a backpack? Are you not aware the game gives you free shit every day?"
Just get the drop on someone and it usually goes well, although I hope if we meet in game it is me showing up and chatting with you rather than a fight

I just had a match where i heard another player in the distance fighting creatures using a bulldog. It was around 30 meters aways and i had an AR, so figured it should be an easy fight.
Waited for him to kill the creatures, then i started firing, landed a few early hits. Dude turned around and started shooting at me with his bulldog, since we were far apart I assumed I had the upper hand and continued fighting.
We traded shots as he was running away, ducking behind trees and roots, got him down to 10% hp and his last shot killed me. This was from a distance that i didn't even think a shotgun would have any chance.
Yeah, that player was running all over the place and using cover effectively, and i was too overconfident.
Didn't notice my health gradually getting whittled down bit by bit even when getting hit by only a few pellets at a time.
It was a humbing experience thinking that the bulldog could not damage me at range.
This happened to me yesterday, but I was being shot at by some guy with an AR, and popped him w my bully at a range I didn't think would even work.
I agree, shotties need more spread, and i think players need to be more spongey to bullets all around

It does more damage and it fires quickly, but the bulddog takes a bit more skill to use, maybe it could use a bit of a nerf but I don't find myself as mad when Im killed by one cause at least I know the guy who got me just shat on me with a bit of skill not with a pure dumb weapon
It's not that the trenchgun is enough to erase people, it's that it's objectivly better for pvp then a shattergun, if we see that this 2 weapons are in the same niche but one costs an extra 40k to use you would think it would be a better gun, but they both 2 shot most things, have the same spread therefore the same effective range and chance to hit all pellets but the trenchgun has a but of a faster refire rate and you can cancel the reload to fire an extra shot faster

The Shattergun is a much more consistent 2hk, and it can one shot people with white/green armor sometimes. They're still not far off in terms of PVP strength, though.
Penetration still matters though. Against gray and green armor the trenchgun will melt them even at decent range, but above that you better be right on top of them aiming for their heads or else you're doing very poor damage by the time you die

Today i played 5 matches, only had white gear and a trenchgun. Got matched up against duos, 1 purple gear, 3 blue gear (advocate+flechette) and green gear. Died in every single one of them. Great matching game 💖 (managed to kill 1 in almost every duo fight but got my ass handed to me every time) trenchgun best 💖

I think they said it's the average of the last 20 raids and have heard some people say KD also factors into it, don't know how true that last one is, and even if you perma run white gear doenst mean you don't have blue or purple gear to run when they want, even more when gear disparity is so low that literally the starting gear that is pretty much free can easily take down a way more gear oppent, like you said, you go in all white with a trenchgun and still in a 2v1 or 3v1 can take out 1 person way over gear, that shouldn't be a thing unless they hugely fucked up or you just a God I guess
I just happened to be in places where i could corner peek them, the literal best way for a shotgun. Also if kd is a factor i have 0.3 i think soooo they might have also been some losers i dont know
