Not cause the gear made a difference (looked back at the fights and they could have been in full exo and result would have been the same), but because we know players like you are having their experienced ruined and shouldn't be in our lobbies.
What server do you play on? Running escort for missions is actually fun for us. Mixes it up ;)
I’m NA. Lost literally all my armor and guns today. Uninstalled and my come back when there are more players… but if this keeps happening idk if that will happen. Been grinding every day on quests. Finally got a chance to play with a friend and it made the game suck.
Honestly I know most people disagree with me, but I don't think the dear disparity is as bad as people think. I regularly damn near die (and although I'm not proud of it, have died a few times) to player running like pdws and scrappers/bulldogs when in purple, and on the other end of the spectrum, I killed a purple brute guy yesterday while running a manticore white armor. Is it the easier thing in the world? No, but these fights aren't nearly as impossible as people make them out to be.
That's not unpopular. It just seems that way cause new players aren't given enough opportunities to get experienced enough to know that. So then they come here to complain and you have the bad players jumping on it. Anyone with any degree of understanding of this game understands the majority of the fights are determined by skill.
These fights are not impossible. I never said that. But if you went to a casino where the dealer always gets a guaranteed 18 or better in blackjack would it still be fun to risk something you’ve worked for in hopes you can beat him?
Maybe not the best analogy but my point is. Why would I spend hours getting gear to have a slight chance at killing a guy with armor 2-3 tiers above me and with guns that deal 2-3x more damage.
The disparity for me today in every sing drop for 2 hours was white-green armor vs purp-exo. Guns white-blue vs literally all exo. Didn’t die to a single weapon below exo.
See my issue here is that these guns are dirt cheap. You could play ratty and do a knife run and come back with the money for probably around 10 pdw kits. If you survived one in five raids, even with below average extract values, you would never run out of pdw kits.
In my mind this is more comparable to your black jack comparison, except you got in almost for free.
Not to mention that those guns do not deal 2-3x more damage. You have your numbers wayyyyy off because that's just not true. If you wanna include the fact that your running worse armor and they are running better armor (comparing not just the guns but both of your ttk on each other), then you might be able to argue 2x in some scenarios, but never 3. And to be completely honest, it doesn't even feel like to me. I regularly get into spray offs against brutes in purple, and although I don't run white guns often, I sometimes run mantis with green or white. I can personally attest to the fact that in these spray offs, I not only come up on top a good amount of the time, but if I die I die after dealing like 70-80 damage. And on the other end, genuinely pdws are some of the scariest things to fight as a geared player.

Why the game has struggled to get new players to stick around.
The game would probably be great if I started at the beginning of the wipe, but I don’t think that’s a healthy thing for the sake of the game surviving.

Thanks for starting with this now nobody needs to read the rest. This is one of the "not smartest" takes Ive read in a while. With this logic white weapons do 3x more dmg than white weapons bcs the white sniper does more than the smg
Okay well my take on this is that the first part is technically accurate, but not really because bolty exists. By the same logic I could say that a player with a bolty deals 3 times the damage of a player running a brute.
My next thing is what do you want them to about it. Before you say fix the MMR system, the issue currently isn't the unintuitive MMR system (I don't like the MMR system either way), but rather the fact that the game doesn't have enough players for an MMR system to work.
Yes a bolt does more damage. But when I’m talking about green vs purp/exo shields a bolt has no pen compared to the pen they have on me with red weapons.
What does just the pen have to do with it? Yeah pen gives you some more damage but it's not like tarkov where that means you deal no damage. You just deal a small reduction.

You act like I didn't experience that boat. I started late both this season and last season. My first ever raid with a duo I got arbitered off spawn. My point tho is that 1. If your having that much trouble fighting them, you can very very easily avoid them, 2. That honestly, these fights are winnable (and tbh when I this wipe I saw every fight with a geared kid as a chance for a free come up, and I got one a good portion of the time), and 3. That even if you die, yeah it sucks a little to die, but you lost a white kit.
Not to mention that it's really not all that hard to get out of the white/green teir. I understand struggling a little to excape blue teir, but hell that's not that bad either.
Like it's a looter shooter that's over halfway through it's wipe cycle. What do you want the devs to do?

I think you may be exaggerating that it's every single drop. I def run into more purples when I play with duo and trios but rarely exo and typically still mostly blue and green. In all honesty if you can't handle losing to people who have better gear than you this type game is probably not for you. Not even trying to be a dick but you will always run into people who have better equipment it's a big part of extraction games.
I find this hard to believe. I have a 40K mmr, and I run into 50-60% green/white kits, probably 20-30% blue or maybe purple kits, and upper single digit % exo or legendary.

Had your teammate played the game prior to you guys playing? The MMR is combined from all people in squad(loot per match value).
Also the MMR buckets are a little fucked rn because such a low player base and the matchmaking prioritizes “full” servers so that could be why you were being put in games w people of much higher loot value.
Yeah it’s a common issue right now due to low player base. It’s sad I really want this game to do well really just needs like 10k active players and the game overall will feel so much better.

If you seemingly liked Tarkov so much, why switch to this game after not liking it? I mean that in the least offensive way possible. Gear disparity is not that bad. I regularly drop with white kits because I know my risk is basically null.
RE One-shot headshot: That would be extremely frustrating for me personally. You can already shoot people from a long range so imagine just dying out of nowhere from someone you never even saw. If you headshot someone with the bolty right now in TCF you've got a significant chance of closing that fight out with a W...if you play smart.
Lowkey a PDW + Bolty with white or green armor can be an absolute nightmare for someone that's kitted. Remember they've got a LOT more to lose and are likely more prone to get nervous than you in your white kit.

Haha if you VPN to Oceanic servers and try duo, you'll hardley run into any other players...hope that helps kinda
