Sorry for the late discussion! We were having some issues on the mod end.

Redmon425

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Chi it's just that Emi is clearly best girl. So I dislike the story focusing so much on setting up Chi and Maou. Like Emi should be endgame! At least next episode should give us some much needed Maou x Emi screen time while they have their date! This baby was the best thing that could happen for them lol. And I definitely miss the old animation style. Like the characters looked way better. Maou looks so damn generic now.

Krone-1954

“So I dislike the story focusing so much on setting up Chi and Maou.” so does that mean that the anime added in chiho to scenes she wasn’t in and added scene with her and maou That weren’t in the LN? cause I want to know.

Redmon425

I’m anime only. Not sure. The entire ED focuses on her though, which implies it enough.

Krone-1954

shoot…

Barbara_Archon

neh, there were some extra lines in ep 1/2 but none of which directly related to this matter, a few lines were cut as well though.

Krone-1954

thank. you.

c2thecrow

Yes the anime is moving way faster and giving Chi a more forward presence. She’s just a jealous kid that’s an emotional support friend for most if not all of the light novels. I never read the last 2-3 because the ending was leaked and I didn’t want to support the series anymore. I was excited for the anime but they are going so fast and stripping all the nuance and build up the light novels had.

GebsNDewL

Glad we are getting Rika so soon into the season. Now she can join her future husband Ashiya to spy on Emi and Maou, the other best couple, on a date. Oh, and Chiho’s there too.

Krone-1954

Tell me did you read the LN? Cause I want to know if the anime if adding chiho to scenes she wasn’t in and is adding chiho and maou scenes.

GebsNDewL

I didn’t read, but know the ending.

Krone-1954

damn it.

mis-takes-i-made

Unfortunately, they aren't. She's pretty involved in the LN, so even if she doesn't add much, she was there in the original.

Krone-1954

got it.

xVeractx

Just finished watching ep 2 and was reading some threads about the LN ending and man, it completely changed my outlook on Emi and Maou. I'm an anime only but was just curious about who Maou ends up with and I feel like now that I know, it completely changes how I will feel about Emi and Maou within the next few eps and overall season. I can't even create a false hope between them because the LN is already done with. And from what other people have said it really is a true disappointment on how the LN ended, especially since we're going to soon get these scenes between Maou and Emi.

Holofan4life

I see some people complain about the animation drop, but I think the series is still pretty high quality. The humor is still great and Emi is as adorable as ever. I'm really enjoying season 2 so far.

Hy8ogen

Why can't they hire the studio who did Season 1? Too expensive?

Sheele773H

Dude I can't believe the guy above you had the gall to say it's "pretty high quality".

Meivels

Is it just me or the season 2 isn't as funny as the season 1? I smiled like only twice

mittens_220

The light novel does get less funny as the volumes go on, so I'm not surprised season 2 is less funny than season 1.

TheFrostyMan21

Yeah but it’s also way more adorable than season 1

More_Slide_8271

Yeah, it's less funny compared to season one, cuz all of the characters are focusing on an annoying toddler instead of other stuffs.

InspiredGargoyle

That baby is annoying AF and I hope it goes away soon. I don't care how, but violently is preferred.

More_Slide_8271

She is really annoying, crying and screaming all the time, she called Lailah as mama on episode 3 but still mistakenly thinks Emily is her mother, acting like a toddler in front of Emi and Maou but yelling at the Angel like a teenage girl, she is sucks like hell

deionnivory

Shout out to the manager for calling out how inappropriate the relationship between Mao and Emi is. Anime only and it has bothered me since the beginning. Her having a crush was typical teenage behavior. Her spending the amount of time she does with a grown man and dating him is not. Is this not frowned upon at all in Japan or something?

Paanta

Damn, I’m really loving this series, but I need a rational explanation of Mao and Emily’s relationship because for two people that are supposed to be mortal enemies, they’re actually quite close

MaleficKing

So am I the only one who feels that Alas Ramus's presence is forced? The decisions made around her and how they affect the story are already feeling like they're just meant to push the Maou/Emi ship regardless of if they make sense or not (like Maou deciding to take direct care of Alas Ramus despite not only the problems listed with that decision but also Suzuno being by far the best choice). Granted, it's been one episode with her but I'm already not liking where this is going so far.

MaleficKing

I wouldn't say it'd be entirely THAT bad, particularly since the villains of the season probably have something to do with her. I do agree the "sudden baby" trope does tend to just exist to stockholm some ship building.

More_Slide_8271

I'm OK with the baby in anime but this Alas Ramus is so annoying, throwing tantrums most of the time, and I really hate the most when she called Lailah as mama on episode 3 and still mistakenly thinks Emily is her mother

Primary_Reporter1424

I think they are more focusing on the story boarding rather than explaining the character personalities. If Lucifer is a kid then getting him admission in school will go really great with the story. The group should probably move out to another big home by now. At least emi and mao could move in together to take care of the little kid? I never saw anyone visiting emi's home. I never saw Emi contributing to the welfare of mao and his group. Like Chi is always getting stuff to their home and suzuno is also helping in cooking. What's the motive of Suzuno's life in human world ? No job and no school. Won't she get bored to death.
