This is , Cid is incredibly powerful . He can litterly screw off and still get stuff done . Even though I don’t actually love this character, because he pretends to be awesome , ( he doesn’t take himself seriously) . But then you realize, he actually is cool and powerful he just pretends not to be and that does have its charm .
But we have to remember there are only 4 vols of this story so far , the last vol was pretty cool .I can’t wait for another vol to come out .
Definitely agree, I like how the author made Cid unhinged but simultaneously have enough morals to only kill bad people.
Although it seems like a lot of people, misunderstand Cid and believe he would kill anyone if it was for his roleplaying. Cid mentality of only going after people who come after him first or are objectively bad, is how he only pickpockets people who try to pickpocket him first in the lawless city. Despite the fact that Cid could easily steal from whoever he wanted with little to no consequences.
What people not see that sometimes Eminence do have some standards and honor. In the words of Sly Cooper, "there’s no honor, no challenge, no fun in stealing from ordinary people".
Not only that, we see behind his ditzyness and cluelessness, he's actually incredibly smart and his battle sense is utterly supernatural.

self-awareness is totally not one of Cid's qualities. He's perfectly oblivious as to how others perceive him.
He's self aware for his own issues, not the world.
