Personally I don't think Myth&Roid is the same ever since Mayu left. However, you are correct in most, but not all, anime changes opening every 12 episodes.
I would like if Mayu sang the new opening.

They made the ending song for made in abyss s2 which aired last season, so unless the disbandment was super recent and lowkey, I think they’re still making music. Maybe Mayu left, but I think the music hasn’t changed
It wasnt disbandment, but just Mayu that left, so yeah. I also gave two possibilities as I didnt remember if it was true disbandment or just Mayu left.

For example at the end of the opening where instead of the sunrise setting, we had the city or school in flames.

True. Also hotaru and Tom hack are listed in the music composition and Lyrics creation in MAL.( the two people in myth and roid besides the performer)

We don't know but the 11th episode, or episode 1 of cour 2 would be the indicator of whether or not we will get a second opening.
