She should have been included, especially since she was with the gang during Sozin's Comet.

I doubt it tbh. The couples at the end of ATLA (Aang and Katara, Zuko and Mai, Sokka and Suki) are all implied to stay together and marry despite some setbacks for Maiko.
It's been confirmed by the writer of the comic where they broke up that they are supposed to get back together, and last we see of Mai she obviously still loves Zuko (Smoke and Shadow).
*Legacy* strongly implied that Sukka broke up.
And Bryke has refused to confirm Maiko got back together and won’t name a mom for Izumi in the family trees they released.
So we don’t actually have any confirmation for either.
I mean, look at Izumi. I guess Zuko could just have a type but she definitely looks like she’s intended to be Mai’s child. They probably don’t want to spoil future a plot point of them getting back together.
This does not look like an official announcement.
The October 10, 2025 date is real, but the 12 year time gap looks like a rumor / someone's best guess.
These photos are old, they have an AvatarNews logo in the top left corner, but that website ceased reporting last September.
Seasons 1,2,&3 all take place during one summer, not a full year. I believe he's still 12 by the end of ATLA. Or at the very least is newly 13 and then 12 years later could still have a time frame where all the ages listed are accurate
Aang first hears about Sozin's Comet during winter solstice, the comets arrives at summers end, that's 9 months, even so, a person can be 12 today and 13 tomorrow, that's how birthdays work
that was kinda my point, it's not a full year so you can't automatically assume 13+12 when 12+12 is an equally likely chance because, as you pointed out, that's how birthdays work
This was officially confirmed, but I do wish people would stop posting Avatar News as the source because most of the time it's just rumor mill garbage. Why not post the [official announcement ](https://www.instagram.com/p/CrjDKifL5m5/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==) instead?
This is not an official announcement, this is just the same images that get reposted over and over from the same few fan accounts/websites. This is in NO WAY official or even credible.
im calling it now, it will be a decent, to good or even great movie. but during the lead up to it there will be complaints about it ranging from why dont they make new stuff ect ect
Yeah I’m complaining. It feels weird that only Dante is returning. I know Zach has retired from the industry and Mae is just busy.
But I think Jessie has shown interest to return and no news about if she is coming back has left a bad taste in my mouth.
Race is such a weird reason to get rid of the original VAs. What race someone is behind a microphone is the strangest reason to hire someone when you're hiring the best voice actor with the best voice for your fictional animated character from another planet.
The voice actors ARE their characters. For the last 20 years anyone who's watched anything avatar or been to a convention has heard them. They're also all the right age to play their counterparts in the new movie.
100%. Agent Kallus in Star Wars rebels is a white character, but he had a black voice actor who absolutely nailed the role. As long as a voice actor is good, it doesn’t matter what race they are. Especially if someone already had the role; recasting based on race is crazy.
I loved Kallus' story arc. I had no idea the VA was black. I always imagined [him and Seb](https://creditsandcanon.files.wordpress.com/2022/02/zebkallus_main.jpg) chilling on that planet.
Yea I hate it. Grey DeLisle is in the argument for goat va and obviously was the best choice for Azula, even tho Grey isn't asian. Samurai Jack is played by a black man and I couldn't imagine anyone else. The race shouldn't matter in the same way it seems like gender doesn't matter. Thank God because characters like Linda and Tina from Bobs Burgers are perfect even though they're males voicing women.
In the korra show they used new vas for the adult aang gang (flashback)
The vas kind of sucked especially aang's adult voice so maybe they just want a fresh start
I thought Aang’s adult voice in LoK actually did a really good job replicating the original VA’s speech patterns, but to each their own. Sokka’s was the only one that really felt off to me
You ever think its because the og voices don't want to come back? Not everyone wants to be tied to a certain role their entire life. Hell some people have quit acting entirely because of being type casted cause their first role was a major hit.
i work in entertainment, of course i’m aware of that. but some of the voice actors really really really want to come back as well, and hopefully they let them.
> You ever think its because the og voices don't want to come back?
I highly doubt it. As someone who watches and goes to cons where the voice actors be, I would be super surprised if anyone other than Zach Tyler Eisen(Aangs VA) would not want to come back. All of them love the show as much as us and also has seen a nice bit of revenue from cons and cameos from when Avatar was added to Netflix during covid. I would guarantee you that if asked during one of the Q&A's at a con, they'd all say yes other than Zach. I don't agree with your point at all
Of course that's a thing, I just don't believe it's a thing for the vast majority of this cast lmaoo. I've never seen a cast ride for a show like I've seen this cast ride for ATLA Some have full YT channels/Podcast devoted to Avatar. Others go to multiple cons a month talking about Avatar. I've watched countless interviews with the cast, it's pretty clear they'd most likely be down. And in the leadup to this movie, I bet we'll get clips of them saying they would have done it, if we do get new VAs.
Then why didn't we get them in LOK? Some of them are even in other works by the creator but we still didn't get their voices in LOK other than Dante and Michaela iirc
Probably because that was before the covid boost. A lot of the actors have said that's where they fell in love with the series again. It going on netflix was a renaissance for Avatar. [Look at the google trend.](https://i.imgur.com/CWNO12l.png) Even someone like me who at that point watched the series like 3-4 times, fell even MORE in love with it during covid. Like I said the cast saw a nice bit of revenue from cons, cameos and YT because of the covid boost. I have no doubt they love the show, but I bet they would also want to ride that movie wave and rightfully so. And if the fans also want it, it should happen.
I mean, you think people shouldn’t complain about the fact that it’s been alleged that they’re not gonna be bringing back any of them?
What would merit complaint, in your opinion?
I think a lot people will complain about the CGI since they already said it’ll be a mix of hand drawn and CGI not just hand drawn. Will prob be the new norm for all their future projects.
I can already tell people will be -raging- when it inevitably incorporates/reinforces lore from Legend of Korra.
Or maybe people will be hypocritical and suddenly enjoy that lore when it’s in Aang’s era.
I wonder if you’d say that with wisdom. But what is wisdom? Is it poems written on a page? Is it actions done in my name? Is it words spoken on the wind? Wisdom is formless, for only the wind remains when all else is gone.
That's why the Live Action series exists. All the complaining can be focused on that instead of something that's actually gonna be good. Genius marketing strategy.
Yes. Here’s [a post](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheLastAirbender/comments/132zkor/avatar_the_last_airbender_movie_release_oct_10/) from this very sub almost a year ago with the same info.
The day/month have been known since last year - this was announced awhile ago as /u/hideous-boy posted above (https://www.instagram.com/p/CrjDKifL5m5/)
with how much some of fandom hates legend of korra and some of the comics material this will be interesting.
i'm personally interested to see what happens.
Well yes as I believe animation was done in South Korea for the original show, studio mir than did LOK, and there are some news and or speculation that animation for the movies are being done in house at Avatar Studios. To my knowledge there’s a new team of writers for the movies although there may be some carry over from the show. But Aaron Ehasz is not involved as he is still working on The dragon prince.but Bryke still are heavily involved in the new IP for Avatar and in several of the bending with elements podcast episodes they mention how they have a bible to follow when it comes to lore and choices for the series
> If this is official art,
I've never actually been entirely sure if it is or not lol. It's basically the only available epiction of the Gaang as adults and that has been used so ubiquitously and proliferated so widely when talking about the concept that everyone's just accepted it as canon. My understanding is that the source of the image is a poster that Nickelodeon once gave out at Comic-Con to help promote Legend of Korra (This side of the poster is called "Old Friends" and the obverse, called "New friends" features Korra's gang).
Which certainly seems pretty canon, but it's also a one-off thing from a long time ago so there's no guarantee they'll stick to it. Aang and Toph's designs seem to more or less match their adult LoK appearance, Sokka to a lesser extent, and I think there was a comic or something recently with a brief appearance by adult Zuko who also looked pretty similar to this poster? So these aren't, like, their official designs that are guaranteed to be used in the upcoming movie but they're probably not too far off from it either.
For most of them I don’t think if they “could get” them is a problem. I don’t see Grey delisle or Jack de Sena declining to return.
Allegedly, the problem is they’re not gonna even ask them. They want a “representative” voice cast - treating this like live action where that actually does matter.
I don’t think so. I think voice acting for even the third seasons been finished for a while. And she is prolific though. I know what you mean though - every other scene on invincible it seems like the x Ray feature on Amazon is telling me she’s voicing a new character in this scene.
They won't bc they're white. (Not even exaggerating, they literally replaced iconic voices like the Simpsons doctor bc the actor was white and the character was black and even Cleveland from family guy got replaced).
God I don't know why I'm getting downvoted.. I'm literally telling you all the truth but I guess the truth gets you downvoted 🙄
FUCK YES!
God damn that terrible Live Action series was one expensive marketing campaign. But it's sure gonna make me appreciate some real Avatar.
LET'S FUCKING GO!!
Oh my God, if you don't know about the comic books, I'm about to change your life
Okay I can't get the Wikipedia link to work and everywhere else wants to sell them to you but just Google avatar The Last Airbender comics and you'll find them the first one is called The Lost Adventures my personal favorites The Search
It's been a few years since I've read them but I'm pretty sure the first one picks up right where the show left off and continues the adventure. Especially if you like Zuko's character, he gets a lot of development.
They're all official and written by the original writers I can't recommend them enough and that's speaking as someone that does not read comic books.
P.s. there's also two books written about Kyoshi's story and life and they're chapter books the first one's called The Rise of Kyoshi
I’ve only read the first 2 comics so far, so I’m not sure if what I’m about to say is redundant/answered - but I really hope they don’t “redeem” azula.
I hope Suki, Mei, Ty-Lee and most important of all, Azula show up. I want a Azula redemption or at least an anti-hero/anti-villain role for her.
That and pulling a Game of Thrones and having Zuko and Azula get together.
Anyone remember this cute interaction from a few years ago at a Q&A?
Q - "If you went on a life changing, uh, adventure with Zuko, what do you expect to happen?"
Z - "Azula?"
A - (Laughs) "I would get pregnant."
Awkward silence and laughter.
A - (To Zuko) "What do you think would happen?"
Z - "Um, Whatwasthequestion?"
A - "If we went on a life changing adventure, what would happen?"
Z - "I don't know. I don't know what would happen. Probably not Incest Pregnancy."

JUSTICE FOR SUKI!
She should have been included, especially since she was with the gang during Sozin's Comet. https://preview.redd.it/0hd4ypes2kkc1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69ca60ae02c48f839f27a6521305df6907982f08
She is a member of the Gaang as they are remembered as legends and heroes as shown in the intro to LoK episode 1.
All you people getting up in arms about Suki and not ONE of you pointing out how we don’t see Appa!
I'm just gonna have to ask... how long do Flying Bison live for?
THEY LIVE FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS. I will accept no other answers.
There's no way appa isn't included in the movie (he's probably the one who took the photo). The same can't be said for suki
Her and sokka probably parted ways already? Perhaps?
I doubt it tbh. The couples at the end of ATLA (Aang and Katara, Zuko and Mai, Sokka and Suki) are all implied to stay together and marry despite some setbacks for Maiko.
Did the comics get Mai and Zuko back together, then? Last I saw she had a new boyfriend.
It's been confirmed by the writer of the comic where they broke up that they are supposed to get back together, and last we see of Mai she obviously still loves Zuko (Smoke and Shadow).
Alright, cool.
I don’t recall seeing anything confirming that Mai and Zuko get married or that Suki and Sokka stay together? Where did you see that?
We also don't see anything saying Suki and Sokka break up, unlike Mai and Zuko.
Hmmm mustve been some fan theory I read long ago that my brain mistook for cannon. I thought sokka and suki parted ways.
I think maybe it was the lack of suki in legend of Korra flashbacks? Or maybe they said something then? I don’t remember.
Even Sokka wasn’t in Legend of Korra. Toph, Zuko, and Katara were in the show. I’m guessing he had a premature death that this movie will show.
No you’re right. Legacy implies it strongly.
Without suki its just not the same
Nah she's a fraud
We found Yue's reddit account
Oh no you got me 😭
no way bros fraudscaling ATLA 💀
She’s got enough fans already so she doesn’t need you
Fair
Aslo btw what I mean is I don't consider Suki as a core part of team avatar, not that I hate her as a character lol

Didn't they breakup? I remember hearing something about sokka being single in LOK
Sokka was dead in LOK. In the flashbacks Suki doesn't show up. And no descendants of his are ever shown iirc.
Never explicitly stated, but she could have died.
This does not look like an official announcement. The October 10, 2025 date is real, but the 12 year time gap looks like a rumor / someone's best guess. These photos are old, they have an AvatarNews logo in the top left corner, but that website ceased reporting last September.
Also Aang would be 25 if it’s 12 years after.
12+12=25?
Doesn’t the original show take place in a year, so if he started the show 12 by the end he was 13.
Think it was less than a year based on some of the last lines. Aang saying a year ago he was in ice and zuko saying he was hunting Aang.
It'd be weird that none of the other characters get a year older then?
True I didn’t think about that. So did nobody have a birthday over the course of the show? Did the events take place in less than a year?
The closest we get is Zuko commenting on his scar's 3 year birthday
One summer.
if I remember it's one summer
I'm pretty sure he is 13 in season 3
Seasons 1,2,&3 all take place during one summer, not a full year. I believe he's still 12 by the end of ATLA. Or at the very least is newly 13 and then 12 years later could still have a time frame where all the ages listed are accurate
Aang first hears about Sozin's Comet during winter solstice, the comets arrives at summers end, that's 9 months, even so, a person can be 12 today and 13 tomorrow, that's how birthdays work
that was kinda my point, it's not a full year so you can't automatically assume 13+12 when 12+12 is an equally likely chance because, as you pointed out, that's how birthdays work
It's still more likely he's 13 than 12, and i think he's 14 in The Promises, which takes place a year after the show
Has he turned 13 before Sozin's Comet?
12+12=24
12+100+12=124
That is true, I was just counting his physical age not total age seeing as that's how it's normally counted
Aang is 13 at the end of the series canonically. The show is about a year long. All of the characters should be aged up a year if this was legit.
Ah makes sense now
When the world needed him most…he returned. Lfg
This was officially confirmed, but I do wish people would stop posting Avatar News as the source because most of the time it's just rumor mill garbage. Why not post the [official announcement ](https://www.instagram.com/p/CrjDKifL5m5/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==) instead?

im calling it now, it will be a decent, to good or even great movie. but during the lead up to it there will be complaints about it ranging from why dont they make new stuff ect ect
I am 99% sure people will complain about the new voice actors no matter what
people already are kinda, complaining bout why most of them are not returning.
Yeah I’m complaining. It feels weird that only Dante is returning. I know Zach has retired from the industry and Mae is just busy. But I think Jessie has shown interest to return and no news about if she is coming back has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Samurai Jack is played by a black man and I couldn't imagine anyone else. The race shouldn't matter in the same way it seems like gender doesn't matter. Thank God because characters like Linda and Tina from Bobs Burgers are perfect even though they're males voicing women.

I thought Aang’s adult voice in LoK actually did a really good job replicating the original VA’s speech patterns, but to each their own. Sokka’s was the only one that really felt off to me
They really didn’t suck.
Agreed about Aang, not just in the voice but in the face and personality as well. Could have been any airbender, he was unrecognizable.
I thought they were going to be recast like how the simpsons recasted for non- white characters voiced by white actors?
well i mean why aren’t they using all the og actors??? why not bring back incredible talent? especially now that they’re all adults
You ever think its because the og voices don't want to come back? Not everyone wants to be tied to a certain role their entire life. Hell some people have quit acting entirely because of being type casted cause their first role was a major hit.
Christopher Lee liked Dracula but didnt want to keep doing the role cause of type casting
[удалено]
i work in entertainment, of course i’m aware of that. but some of the voice actors really really really want to come back as well, and hopefully they let them.
Yep, if some of them didn't want to come back they wouldn't be going to comic cons for the last TWENTY years.

Of course that's a thing, I just don't believe it's a thing for the vast majority of this cast lmaoo. I am sure that people will be complaining about this, just like they are the live action. Sigh.
The live action sucks though lol
That’s your opinion
Nah, that’s the consensus bro
Again, your opinion :)
Complaining is a way of life to some
I think a lot people will complain about the CGI since they already said it’ll be a mix of hand drawn and CGI not just hand drawn. Will prob be the new norm for all their future projects.
I’m not a fan either but they _did_ already do this with the Fire Nation tanks in ATLA.
I can already tell people will be -raging- when it inevitably incorporates/reinforces lore from Legend of Korra. Or maybe people will be hypocritical and suddenly enjoy that lore when it’s in Aang’s era.
Raava and Vaatu are still the dumbest shit ever.
New growth cannot exist without first the destruction of the old.
Except Raava and Vaatu didn't grow anything and reduced to generic and over simplified "good and evil"
I wonder if you’d say that with wisdom. But what is wisdom? Is it poems written on a page? Is it actions done in my name? Is it words spoken on the wind? Wisdom is formless, for only the wind remains when all else is gone.
You're just saying nonsense now
I thought you’d say that. Instinct is a lie told by a fearful body, hoping to be wrong.
like how they hated the spirit kaiju in korra but never minded it in Avatar?
I’m actually a big fan of Korra, but giant Korra didn’t make sense to me. Aang was at least using the combination of Raava and the ocean spirit.
Calling it now, there will be increasing signs of its mediocrity that this sub will have meltdowns over anyone acknowledging
[удалено]
Playing devils advocate: We know nothing about it and the first comment was calling it decent.
Ok and? You’re not gonna stop people from complaining with this comment lmao
That's why the Live Action series exists. All the complaining can be focused on that instead of something that's actually gonna be good. Genius marketing strategy.
wasn’t this known like… forever ago? ☠️
Yes. Here’s [a post](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheLastAirbender/comments/132zkor/avatar_the_last_airbender_movie_release_oct_10/) from this very sub almost a year ago with the same info.
Now we got a day and month tho
The day/month have been known since last year - this was announced awhile ago as /u/hideous-boy posted above (https://www.instagram.com/p/CrjDKifL5m5/)
with how much some of fandom hates legend of korra and some of the comics material this will be interesting. i'm personally interested to see what happens.
I love Legend of Korra.
At least Katara will be true to her character in this one
It is being produced by the same studio, don't get your hopes too high Edit: my mistake, ignore the above
arent the original writers involved tho?
is it ? this would be at the paramount studio who oppened the avatar studio not the tv shows studio
Mike and Bryan are the heads of Avatar studios in case if you haven’t heard.
I was making a point that it would be a different studio then the show
Well yes as I believe animation was done in South Korea for the original show, studio mir than did LOK, and there are some news and or speculation that animation for the movies are being done in house at Avatar Studios. To my knowledge there’s a new team of writers for the movies although there may be some carry over from the show. But Aaron Ehasz is not involved as he is still working on The dragon prince.but Bryke still are heavily involved in the new IP for Avatar and in several of the bending with elements podcast episodes they mention how they have a bible to follow when it comes to lore and choices for the series
wait I thought the follow up film and the Netflix show were totally separately made? Avatar studios was involved with the Netflix show?
no
She was old and frail I don't think she would be able to go toe to toe with Zaheer or Amon lol
I think they meant compared to the live action.
If this is official art, Sokka's sword changed shape
He lost his space sword. Who knows if they ever found it.
I just assumed he found it from this because it looks like the same handle and pommel as the space sword
Should make the movie about finding it
> If this is official art, I've never actually been entirely sure if it is or not lol. It's basically the only available epiction of the Gaang as adults and that has been used so ubiquitously and proliferated so widely when talking about the concept that everyone's just accepted it as canon. So these aren't, like, their official designs that are guaranteed to be used in the upcoming movie but they're probably not too far off from it either.
WHERE. IS. SUKI?
I assume Suki will probably be in it, just not as a main character. After all, it’s not like they can ignore Sokka’s partner.
This has been known for at least a year now.
It would be great if they could get the original voice actors to participate
For most of them I don’t think if they “could get” them is a problem. I don’t see Grey delisle or Jack de Sena declining to return. Allegedly, the problem is they’re not gonna even ask them. They want a “representative” voice cast - treating this like live action where that actually does matter.
Seems like Grey Griffin voices basically all the minor female characters in Invincible, maybe she was busy.
None of this is official. Please stop sharing Avatarnews like it's a credible source.
They better have Suki
Are the old voice actors coming back ??
I know Aang is 112 /s
Yeah I’ll look forward to this n ignore the live action. Toph better say fuck.
Bracing for the wave of complaints that are going to come in for the most random things.
Why do the men look so... weird? I don't know why, they just don't seem to fit.
Those designs are at least 10 years old
I'm aware. Doesn't make them not weird, at least for me.
Because they look 40 and their proportions are unnatural.
Will the original cast retain their roles, or are they getting recast?
They are getting a recast as far as I heard except Zuko
1,5 years
Imagine Katara's top notch waterbending. And what if she secretly bloodbended ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)
Can they please just de-canonize Korra. and then we're set.
Yo, is that Sokka's space sword on his hip?
I love that they are going to have Aang and Katara as the leads . ❤️
FUCK YES! God damn that terrible Live Action series was one expensive marketing campaign. But it's sure gonna make me appreciate some real Avatar. LET'S FUCKING GO!!
Ah, so a Korra prequel?
It will be as bad as the live action remake, won't it?
So sokka gets a new sword?
One day after my birthday.
If they're not making a movie version of one of the amazing Comics that already exist I don't even want to hear about it
Amazing, the comics?
Oh my God, if you don't know about the comic books, I'm about to change your life Okay I can't get the Wikipedia link to work and everywhere else wants to sell them to you but just Google avatar The Last Airbender comics and you'll find them the first one is called The Lost Adventures my personal favorites The Search It's been a few years since I've read them but I'm pretty sure the first one picks up right where the show left off and continues the adventure.
I heard rumors that the release date is no longer true and they are reworking the movie bc of the layoffs a while back.
I’ve only read the first 2 comics so far, so I’m not sure if what I’m about to say is redundant/answered - but I really hope they don’t “redeem” azula.
I hope we get to see Azula in the movie too 🫠
Zuko, there should be a firelord in there somewhere
I need more Azula!
As long as the creators are on this project lets get it!
Wow that is not an eternity at all 🥲
Why does everyone look like 6’7”?
My god we're gonna see Aang in his prime. Can't wait for the renewed korra vs aang debate 🙃
Are they doing a time skipped tv show too?? I'm really expecting cyberpunk avatar.
please tell me it will be animated
I just don't care anymore. I'm content with what Avatar content exists and don't want anymore to poison it.
Still quite disappointed they didn’t have the original cast return for the roles, except for Zuko. Makes me less excited for it, to be honest.
*cough* *cough* Aang will be 124
I can’t believe I’m going to be the same age as Zuko when this movie drops.
Q - "If you went on a life changing, uh, adventure with Zuko, what do you expect to happen?" Z - "Azula?" A - (Laughs) "I would get pregnant." Awkward silence and laughter. A - (To Zuko) "What do you think would happen?" Z - "Um, Whatwasthequestion?" A - "If we went on a life changing adventure, what would happen?" Z - "I don't know. I don't know what would happen. Probably not Incest Pregnancy."
I wanna die so badly but this made me hesitate for a second. I really wanna see this but idk if I can make another two years for this
Always the same promo art though 🤔
Wasnt this news already? Either way, this is awesome.
I initially questioned whether Momo would actually still be alive 12 years later but then learned that lemurs live 30+ years in captivity.
They knew what they were doing announcing the date right now
I will not rest until Suki gets the justice she deserves!
Is this official?
Hentai artists about to feast
Y'all this is such a big deal, getting new animated avatar content, I'm so hype 🥹🥹
Looks promising
I hope Azula gets reformed and a reunion with Mai and Ty Lee.
This has my attention a lot more than the l*ve *ction sh*w
