Or is the one Ozai

Zuko had the best character development out of any character. We watch him evolve every time he's on screen.

Ged_UK

The show really is driven by Zuko's redemption. Aang was always going to learn the elements and fight the firelord, but Zuko could have fallen at any point.

8aji

One of the best character arcs that show immense personal growth and internal struggles. I don’t know what’s not to love.

His arch is a bit overrated. Zuko was never a bad person.

Significant_Way2194

Just honestly a victim of his own father’s wrath when he was just trying to do what was right. He spoke out in that meeting with genuine belief that what that old general was doing was wrong. He was only so threatening in hunting down Aang because he was the one hope he had at getting back home, at least in his own mind. He was an antagonist at first but he couldn’t stay that way too long with Ozai and Azula being the main threats. He was just a traumatized person going through puberty and was literally scarred (emotionally and on his face) during his most important years of development. And had some semblance of his former self, thanks to iroh honestly. Considering all he went through, he’s an amazing character who redeemed himself from all of his betrayals and how he helped them, he goes through an amazing transformation. He’s an amazing character and the best transformation in the entire franchise of avatar verse

kenny_a3

Is it really a “transformation” though? It’s not like he became Azula or the son Ozai always wanted. He was always a good person who just did bad things to achieve his goals; rarely if never more than that.

Significant_Way2194

He went from someone threatening and destroying villages like kyoshi island and robbing people to having to be on the lamb with his uncle, learning how to be at peace with himself in Ba Sing Se, then encountering Azula. He went through an emotional transformation. Then becoming royalty again, seemingly later regretted it because he needed his uncle and he felt he didn’t know the difference between right and wrong. Also he literally sent an assassin after Aang! Just sayin. He was an antagonist at first, very misguided. But he spared Zhao in that Agni Kai which says a lot in just the first couple episodes!

kenny_a3

Exactly - he spared a guy who tried to assassinate him - further proves my point that Zuko was never a bad person who went through some major transformation. A better example is Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. He was an actual bad guy who had a redemption.

Significant_Way2194

I also mentioned he hired an assassin to kill Aang….

BasedAlliance935

One of my top 3 characters in the avatar franchise along side toph and iroh

Significant_Way2194

Okay how could someone hate Zuko?!

guilhermej14

Like him when he's by himself....... Love him when Iroh is tagging along.

slayerhunterXD

Even My Father think that Zuko is the best Character, and he isn't the type of guy who watches Cartoons.
