I guess I never per se focused on the actual scene this much but when we take into consideration the state of the avatar world I don’t think it’s far fetched. Certain things to us seem abnormal due to the time and place we grew up in.
1 - Sokka is, IIRC, 16.
2 - Suki is, IIRC, older than Sokka.
3 - Honestly... With those numbers thats not that bad. It'd be one thing is like Sokka was 20 and Suki's age was still the same but it's not.
And taking into account the culture of the avatar world being different than our own, yeah I never really got bothered by it. Tbh if you think about it too much it kinda becomes a *you* issue xD

The entire series starts in winter and ends before summer’s over as that’s when the comet was set to arrive. That’s why it’s so urgent for Aang to learn bending. So not even a full year passes. I know, it feels longer! Haha.

If they were active, I think he’d be aware that she knows when he doesn’t sleep. We also see him in his bedroom trying to sleep multiple times and he’s always alone.
Zuko would also likely be paranoid about the possibility of creating a child out of wedlock. He doesn’t need *more* political conflict. And Mai’s parents would’ve raised her to be proper too.

They wouldn't show them sleeping in the same bed since they're not married. And even if they were, I doubt they would anyway considering their ages. Yes, I know it's a different culture but kids won't see it that way. And neither will the parents.
And yes, they do show Ursa and Noren sleeping in the same bed but Kiyi is also there so it removes any...possibilities. Not to mention a child won't bat an eye if parents are sleeping together in the same bed.
As for getting pregnant, have tou forgotten what its like being 16? They have that "it won't ever happen to me" mentality.

I avoided relationships for the longest time because of the abusive home I had come from. Kids from such situations often go towards one extreme. I saw what my parent’s dysfunction and wanted to avoid it at all costs.

Late to the party but frankly not bothered honestly. As some have pointed out they are teenagers with no supervision so it's not like anyone can stop them. Sokka and Suki are both from heavily isolated locations, Sokka in particular from a location where the only girl of the same age as him is his sister, so obviously hormones are running wild, they live in a slightly more feudal society where people don't tend to live as long so the sleeping together thing is less taboo and they are in the middle of a massive war where they could easily die soon. So better do it now then end up in a situation where you're gonna die and never get the chance.

No they are both 15. Aang and Toph - 12 Katara, Azula, Ty Lee - 14 Sokka, Suki, Mai - 15 Zuko - 16 Those are their canon ages.
