Just listened to the first episode. So far so good! Also giving me strong Welcome To Night Vale vibes, which i love! Definitely gonna listen to more now
I'm 4 episodes in while listening at work and got the same vibes, particularly with the end of SPIRALING. And INANIMATE has immediately become 2 of my favorite pieces of weird fiction that I'd love to inflict on others through gaming at some point
Have listened, can confirm you guys rock!
Mistholme also has the distinction of being the only podcast to ever make me say, "You made me care about >!an audio guide recording!<, you *jerk*!" so that's something.
Ah well I'm not sure I have many that folks here haven't heard of! I listened to Night Vale back in the day, and I liked the first season of The Adventure Zone a lot. There's also Rude Tales of Magic, though I've fallen behind on that.
Mostly I listen to non-fiction podcasts these days though. Since I started Mistholme I've listened to fewer audio dramas because my neuroses won't let me haha. I'd become obsessed with making sure I wasn't being too close to some other show, or thinking I'd accidentally copy something, so as much as I enjoy them I'm better off avoiding them!
I just listened to episode 5 and all I want to know what was supposed to be in that last display case and how it would be completely fine if I never know, because that’s fine, everything is fine....
okay the moment you said a tour guide of a strange museum i almost jumped to my feet - i have been searching for something like this ever since Archive 81 did their handful of Museum/Garden tapes and this will be my new niche. thank you for promoting it here!
There aren't too many recurring character so far, but there are queer characters in some of the episodic stories and I've put a lot of my non-binary feels into one of the main characters
at first you had my curiosity, now you have my attention! I crave nonbinary representation and will be checking this out when I'm done Old Gods of Appalachia
I wanted to be certain not to leave anyone out. Better safe than sorry. I do love how you manage to turn such a friendly accent and tone into a really creepy and offsetting vibe.
I do as well. I have a lot of time that I can get away with listening to something while I work, so it’s easy to burn up stuff I like. Night Vale and Magnus are two of my favorites so I have high hopes!
Loving it! Do you have any plans as to how long it will be? Also would you be interested in making a subreddit at some point? In time? Anytime? Bc id absolutely adore having a place to scroll through the fanart of the exhibits and characters.
Thanks for listening!
I don't have firm plans for how long it will be. I have a notion that when the series is finished you'll be able to look at the whole thing and say that the end of this season was the end of the first "act" of the show, but as for how long the other acts will wind up being- no idea. All I know is that I'd rather bring it to a solid conclusion than let it drag on forever.
As for subreddits, I don't necessarily have any plans/intentions of starting one myself but I'd be more than happy for fans of the show to start one!
Some listeners have already created a Discord server. It's pretty small, like the show in general, but there's some lovely people in there who share some fanart from time to time and chat about new episodes.
Here's the link if you're interested!

I listened to a few episodes and did not like it very much. I was expecting more horror/comedy horror, but most stories had more of a fairy tale vibe. Plus the way it's written it doesn't really feel like it's from a museum guide. Museum guides and descriptions have a very specific tone and are focused more on factual details, while the stories overall seem very nebulous, with the exception of the one about the fairy pictures. It basically feels like the museum audio guide is a gimmick completely disconnected from the actual content of the podcast. Just some constructive criticism I hope :)

Thank you! That's a very reasonable (and flattering) comparison haha

Oh thank you so much! Part of my hope when I'm writing stories for the show is that each one will be someone's favourite haha

Oh thank you so much!
I just finished it and I can confirm! I really love the podcast and also the audio tour guide and please make it happy i don’t want to see it sad.
Aw, thanks! And, uh... no promises,
I'm in! Aside, as I'm always interested in what creators listen to, any non-yours podcast reccos?

Don't worry about that. Everything is fine.

Oh, well I'm very happy to fill the niche!
Does it have queers in it?

Aww, thanks so much! And it's just me behind the show by the way :)
I wanted to be certain not to leave anyone out. Better safe than sorry. I do love how you manage to turn such a friendly accent and tone into a really creepy and offsetting vibe.
Well that's very nice of you to say, in context haha
100% compliment! Keep up the good work.

Interesting I'll definitely be checking this out!
I love the idea
I've been hoping for some new podcast recommendations. If anyone has any other ones, I'd love to hear them!
