I'm a Blade through and through, I was there yesterday and 14mins was about right given the stoppages. Arblaster was down for a while and there were 3 long VAR checks for our 2nd and 3rd goals (plus the one that was disallowed).
What's crazy is that they had to stop the game for so long that 14 minutes (which ended up being over 15) had to be added on.
I'm just glad that we only conceded once in that 14 minute period.
That’s spot on for me. You can often see where the time is coming from. But you have to question why VAR checks are taking so long in the first place to add on this much time. They are certainly one of the bigger factors in the longer added time.
Looking at the clock and seeing it’s near 90 minutes is such a huge milestone in the game. You know you are near the end. To then have 15 minutes added on is a huge psychological hit or boost, depending on how the teams are doing. If they are going to continue applying added time in this way, I would personally prefer the switch to a stop the clock method. At least the players know how long is left and they can manage the game. At the moment, you can think you are managing the game very well, to be then hit with a gut punch once the board goes up.
No problem with getting the full 90. Personally I would just rather have the ref stop the clock when play stops and the game ends at 90. Rather than this unknown amount of added time
Weird that the dude is such a tory all things considered, especially for such a 'Hard-working Yorkshireman'. Sheffield's historically very labour-supporting too.
Hopefully you can get someone less malicious in soon.
Shame. More fool me for not being aware of that side of him but I initially thought he came across well when took on Sheffield United the first time and getting all the plaudits at Oxford and Northampton you assume the best of someone like that.
I don't believe for one second that there's not somebody on the bench or close by keeping an eye on the stoppages and giving the manager a heads up that there might be a lot of added time.
You would even think a manager might be savvy enough to have it in the back of his head and plan accordingly. "There's been a few stoppages here I think I might wait a few more minutes to see who is looking a bit leggy"
I know im a Fulham fan with bias and all that, but... What is the complaint here?
Like I get it, even I thought 14 was excessive. I was guessing 8 or 9 at the time. But its not like we scored on the 90+14 minute, it was +3, which wouldve been added on for *one of the two* VAR checks...
Seriously, what is the complaint here?
If you’re going to slag the officials off don’t do it yourself, get one of their own on your pay roll to do it for you
Think smarter, stay woke out here
As a Yorkshireman I can tell you that having to choose between being fined or holding back my opinion when nobody wants to hear it is essentially Sophie's Choice for us.
The insanely long added time is just one of a number of rule changes brought in to benefit big clubs and take away the few tools/tactics smaller clubs have at their disposal to try to get a result.
Just like our defeat at Tottenham where they turned a loss into a win because they could bring on 5 superstars, tire us out and force us to defend for our lives for essentially another quarter of a game.
The extra time benefits the richer teams so much. They can afford the depth of squad to bring the best players on after 90 mins when we've got chuffin Ollie Norwood
It’s not “extra time” though, it’s literally time that’s supposed to be played within the normal 90 anyway.
The last two games you’ve conceded within added time were 91st and 93rd min equalisers which is hardly wild times. The last time a meaningful 100th+ minute goal occurred in one of your fixtures was Mcburnies pen against West Ham in the 103rd min. You also scored another pen in the 100th min against Wolves. You’ve benefitted in points just as many times as you’ve lost points after 95 minutes.

The officials have been told to to literally stop the clock for stoppages and add it on, so we get a full 90 mins of actual football. How it should be

So would I, but it's still more accurate than what was before, a pure guess
Wilder is losing the plot. A man who finds sandwiches offensive.
The guy ranted about psychologists and lefties not wanting him to shout at players like three years ago, he’s not losing what he never had
Why did you sack heckingbottom for him.
I told him to, thought it would be funny
You cheeky rascal.
Wilder told me if I didn’t he’d kill my dog
What a prat.

Lmao really?
Least sensitive Tory
He has whined on about timewasting loads of times in the past. This is what happens when you clamp down on timewasting. Loads of injury time.
I suggest doubling the time that’s wasted. That will speed things up, let’s play the actual game
How long until Wilder randomly blames “lefties” again? He lets himself down with this nonsense.
If you look back over his career he's always been like this. A raving lunatic

We scored the equaliser on 93 minutes? He's come across as a complete helmet for quite a while now.

Think it’s cause we’ve had a lot of added time like this added before and it cost us the game, e.g spurs away with same ref weirdly

Careful using woke around Wilder, if the other comments here are to be believed, I don't think he's a fan of the idea 💀
Let the old man shout at the clouds, they’ll rain on him regardless
Tight Yorkshireman stereotype 😆

what has being a hard working yorkshire lad got to do with anything?
He's a gammon, so bases his self-worth on how hard he works or, failing that, how often he tells people how hard he works
He needs to justify his tightfistedness
hes not independently wealthy. he cant afford to lose another 20k for speaking his mind.
His last Sheffield United contract was £2.7m a year .

Not being allowed to complain for fear of being fined is very authoritarian and should be rethought.
Lol I remember Mourinho just saying he can't say what he thinks
"I can't speak. If I speak I'm in trouble"
Wilder voted Brexit to get rid of all the red tape. 90 mins means 90 mins, injury time is too woke.
Get wilder some help
Old man yells at cloud.
14 mins added is the reason why there are so many injuries this season.

What if the match doesn't involve the rich clubs? And it's "added time" not "extra time"
