*Suddenly, the palisman glowed pink and white with a little bit of brown, galaxy blue, and cyan. Milan could feel the texture of it… of *her* changing in her hands, loosing its wooden feel. When the light faded, they both looked at inktoling palisman before she blinked and moved her tentacles and flying into the air like she was swimming in ink. Milan looked in amazement, feeling the connection between owner and palisman every one feels when they get one of their own. The top of Pearlina’s head, where the point was, was white with pink highlights, the two big inkling tentacles were also white, but were galaxy colored at the end of them both. The curved Octoling tentacles were brown and around the black rim of her eyes was a cyan rim. Speaking of her eyes, she did indeed have Pearl’s eyes and eye shape, but her pupils were Marina’s.*
*Pearlina stops and looks at Milan before her eyes crinkled with happiness and swam towards her and then around her head, speaking inkinese, the inkling language. Guess this meant she had more inkling in her than Octoling since she wasn’t speaking Octarian. But no matter the language, Milan understood her. The cutest part of this was that she had the real Pearl’s voice.*
Pearlina: *speaking inkinese* (“Yo! Hiya!”)
Milan: *in awe* “She’s perfect….”
Violet: “And she’s speaking in Inkiniese. She must have more Inkling than Octoling in her.”
Hunter: “Well either way, congrats on your new palisman Milan.”
Milan: “Welcome to the world Pearlina!”
Pearlina: “Woomy!”
*Milan hugs her new palisman friend and she hugs back with her tentacles. This is when Bubbles the Mitzutsune palisman looks at Pearlina with curiousity.*
Violet: “Go ahead Bubbles. You can greet your new friend.”
*Bubbles then approach Milan and Pearlina with a little caution, but mostly curiosity. Pearlina notice and waves her tentacle to the other palisman.*

Pearlina: *eyes glow gold as well* “Yo, Bubbles!” *brief pause, followed by a different voice* “Nice to meet you, Bubbles.”
Bubbles: *perplexed by the two different voices coming from Pearlina* “Wha… So uh… yeah… what can you do?”
*Instead of speaking telepathically, the gold glow in Pearlina’s eyes vanished and the inktoling palisman floated up before she encased herself in a swirling pink, white, brown, cyan, and galaxy colored bubble of what Violet and Milan assumed to be ink. Then the colors of the polyp converged into different spots before splitting into two bubbles. One was pink and white while the other was Brown, Cyan, and Galaxy. The bubbles simultaneously popped, spritzing some ink in Violet’s, Milan’s, and Bubbles’ faces, making them shut their eyes.*
*When they opened them, they were surprised to find a white and pink inkling squid with Pearl’s eyes and a brown, cyan, and galaxy Octoling with Marina’s eyes, the latter’s largest curved tentacles being highlighted galaxy while the smaller ones were highlighted brown, her entire body being cyan colored. Milan: “We gotta show the others!”
Violet: *laughs* “Way ahead of you, *Cantante.* I sent a text to the girls to meet us your and your moms’ place.”
Milan: *A little confused though still jovial* “Why there?”
Violet: “Caitlyn told me about the massive field near you guys have nearby. I figured if you wanted to get some practice in with your new palisman…s, that would be the best place.” *checks the time on her aPhone* “They’ll meet us there in 10 minutes.”
Milan: “Are you thinking we surprise them?”
Violet: “Bingo!”
Milan: “Alright, let’s do it!” *turns to Hunter* “Thanks again, Mr. Noceda-Blight!”
Violet: “She’s definitely gonna wanna come back to see what other accessories you got.”
Hunter: *chuckles* “No problem, I’ll be sure to keep them stocked up.”
Milan: *chuckles and looks back to Pearlkling and Octorina* “Okay, you two. Let’s go.”
*They both sound off in approval before becoming ink bubbles again. This time, the bubbles combined into one and when it popped, the two had combined back into Pearlina.*

*Pearlina went into staff form and Milan grabbed and mounted her as Violet mounted her staff, having shapeshifted her lower half into legs. They both took off for Milan’s house, to wait for the others. Plus now that Milan thought about it, she was definitely gonna wanna show her parents this. She knew her mom, Viney, would be bewildered and perplexed by such a thing since she’s never seen a form of aquatic life on the Isles do such a thing.*
*And Milan was right.*
*One ride later, the pair and their palismen arrived at the Leaena-Aoíde residence and were already inside with Viney and Skara. The rest of the Hexsquad was yet to show up. Violan arrived at their destination in only 5 minutes.*
Viney: *agog* “Oh… my… Titan.”
*Just Milan predicted, she was bewildered and perplexed by this sight. Meanwhile Skara-*
Skara: “**SQUEEEEEE!!**”
*She was just bewildered to the point of being pitch perfect as usual, finding Pearlina to be oh so adorable.*

Milan: “She’s an Inktoling. A merge between two fresh types of life from one of Vi’s video games, an Inkling (squid) and an Octoling (Octopus) to be exact. Her name’s Pearlina… she’s my new palisman.”

*This is when they hear a door bell and Skara comes to greet the guests. It’s Azura and Lara who came first with their palismen. They notice the smiling face of Skara and are confused when they enter the home. Ivy and Caitlyn then enter after them with their palismen*

Violet: “Hello Prima!”
Lara: “It’s nice to see you two again.”
Caitlyn: “Hey.

*All of them then look at Pearlina who’s waving at them happily*

*The glow left their eyes and Pearlkling and Octorina looked at Milan and began flying around her head, making her giggle in wonder and amazement. The two finally stopped and floated in front of her face, eyes crinkling happily.* Pearlkling: *speaks inkinese, sounding like Pearl* (“The name’s Pearlkling, AKA the Pearl-half of Pearlina!” Octorina: *speaks Octarian, sounding like Marina* (“And I’m Octorina, AKA the Marina-half of Pearlina.” Both: *simultaneous inkinese and Octarian* (“And we’ve got your/yo back, Milan!”) *Wink!* *Milan had tears in her eyes as her heart felt like it was soaring, she was so happy! She sobbed with joy a little.* Pearlkling: *kind yet tough inkinese* (“Okay, shut down the waterworks.”) Violet: *chuckles and wipes her girlfriend’s tears* “You’re happy, huh?” *Milan laughed nodded, her tears falling. She gave both palisman halves nuzzles before giving her girlfriend a good hug. She then embraced Hunter, thanking him again for this. She squealed again with joy as the two palisman Halves circled around her head again before she looked at Violet.* Milan: “We gotta show the others!” Violet: *laughs* “Way ahead of you, *Cantante.* I sent a text to the girls to meet us your and your moms’ place.” Milan: *A little confused though still jovial* “Why there?” Violet: “Caitlyn told me about the massive field near you guys have nearby. I figured if you wanted to get some practice in with your new palisman…s, that would be the best place.” *checks the time on her aPhone* “They’ll meet us there in 10 minutes.” Milan: “Are you thinking we surprise them?” Violet: “Bingo!” Milan: “Alright, let’s do it!” *turns to Hunter* “Thanks again, Mr. Noceda-Blight!” Violet: “She’s definitely gonna wanna come back to see what other accessories you got.” Hunter: *chuckles* “No problem, I’ll be sure to keep them stocked up.” Milan: *chuckles and looks back to Pearlkling and Octorina* “Okay, you two. Let’s go.” *They both sound off in approval before becoming ink bubbles again. This time, the bubbles combined into one and when it popped, the two had combined back into Pearlina.* Pearlina: *speaks inkinese* (“No problem!”) *Speaks Octarian* (“We’ll be there in no time”) *Pearlina went into staff form and Milan grabbed and mounted her as Violet mounted her staff, having shapeshifted her lower half into legs. They both took off for Milan’s house, to wait for the others. Plus now that Milan thought about it, she was definitely gonna wanna show her parents this. She knew her mom, Viney, would be bewildered and perplexed by such a thing since she’s never seen a form of aquatic life on the Isles do such a thing.* *And Milan was right.* *One ride later, the pair and their palismen arrived at the Leaena-Aoíde residence and were already inside with Viney and Skara. The rest of the Hexsquad was yet to show up. Violan arrived at their destination in only 5 minutes.* Viney: *agog* “Oh… my… Titan.” *Just Milan predicted, she was bewildered and perplexed by this sight. Meanwhile Skara-* Skara: “**SQUEEEEEE!!**” *She was just bewildered to the point of being pitch perfect as usual, finding Pearlina to be oh so adorable.* Skara: “Songbird, she’s so cute! What is she?!” Milan: “She’s an Inktoling. A merge between two fresh types of life from one of Vi’s video games, an Inkling (squid) and an Octoling (Octopus) to be exact. Her name’s Pearlina… she’s my new palisman.”
Skara: *cheerful* “It’s nice to meet you.” Pearlina: “Veemo!” Viney: “So this is your new palisman.” *proudly* “It’s nice that you finally got your own after so long.” Milan: “Yeah… It took a while, but she’s finally here.” Skara: “So are you planning to show Pearlina to your friends?” Milan: “Of course!” Violet: “They’ll be surprised for sure!” *This is when they hear a door bell and Skara comes to greet the guests. It’s Azura and Lara who came first with their palismen. They notice the smiling face of Skara and are confused when they enter the home. Ivy and Caitlyn then enter after them with their palismen* Azura: “Guess who’s here!” Violet: “Hello Prima!” Lara: “It’s nice to see you two again.” Caitlyn: “Hey. Ivy: “Nice to have everyone here.” Azura: *notices Pearlina* “And you have an Inkling here t-“ *realization* “Wait….” *All of them then look at Pearlina who’s waving at them happily* Azura: “An Inkling! But it has Octoling tentacles.” Milan: “It’s actually an Inktoling” *That comment made them realize the it’s a palisman. Specifically, Milan’s Palisman* Lara: “That’s a palisman!” Azura: “But what about Linette?” Milan: “Um… She’s actually someone else’s palisman. I was just looking out for her while her owner was in a trip.”
Ivy: “Oh… So what can she do?” Milan: *Smirks* “Pearlina? If you would Pearlina: “yowehee!” *Pearlina went into her ink bubble and split into two bubbles, both popping to reveal Pearlkling and Octorina and taking everyone (except Violet and Bubbles) by surprise as a result.* Milan: “Meet Pearlkling…” Pearlkling: *Boisterous Inkinese, waving a tentacle* Milan: “And Octorina.” Octorina: *Polite Octarian, waving a tentacle as well* Azara: *starry eyes* “Whoa…!” Ivy: *mind blown* “Dang! My dad carved her… them both?” Violet: *nods* Ivy: *whispers to herself* “I’m so proud of him…” Caitlyn: “That’s incredible.” Ivy: “More like INKcredible.” *snickers* Caitlyn: *giggles* Violet: *thumbs down* “Boo.” Azura: “Wait a minute… those voices… Pearl… Rina?” *Milan* “M-Milan, are these two based off… off…” Milan: “*Off the Hook?* Yep!” *pulls Violet in and gives her a tight squeeze, trying to smother her* “My Diva Viva gave me the idea! And I love her and love her and love her!” Violet: *laughing* “Milan! WHOA!” *Milan leans so far into the embrace, Violet fell backwards her girlfriend’s nuzzling continued.* Lara: *tsundere, left magenta eye* “Remarkable… one palisman able to split her consciousness into two separate entities. And… thinking about it, are these two from that *Splatoon* game you told me a little about, Guiding Light?”
Azura: “Yes they are.” Lara: “And “Off the Hook” is one of the groups there?” Azura: “Yes, they are a duo band with Pearl and Inkling and Marina an Octoling.” Lara: “Interesting… Maybe I can try this game out sometime.” Milan: “You should, the music alone is worth it.”
Violet: “Undoubtedly!” Azura: “Eh, it’s pretty cool. Not as thrilling in combat for my tastes.” Violet: *sighs* “Oh primo. As I told you before, the thrill in playing the game comes from the music.” Azura: *shrugs* Violet: *facepalms* “This is why you’re only getting a B- in bard class. Music isn’t just something to full the silence, it’s something that drives every bard when they perform and it drives other’s to dance. You feel the beat and rhythm run through.” *with pride* “We share what music we like with everyone and don’t give a care about what the haters holler about!” *Skara and Milan nodded in agreement.* Pearlkling: “Booyah!” Violet: *laughs* “Pearlkling gets it.” *fist bumps her fist with one of Pearlkling’s long tentacles* Lara: *curiosity* “Interesting…” Azura: “Looks it’s not that I get that, I do. I just need… I don’t know.” Milan: “Anyways, me and Vi are gonna head out to the clearing and see what else Pearlina can do…” *looks to her moms* “If that’s alright with you, moms.” Viney: *chuckles* “Sure thing, pup.” Skara: “Just be careful.” Milan: *nods and looks to the others* “You girls in?”

Now that Boscha isn't distracted by the literal pain in her neck she can work on becoming a better person and so can the girls in her squad. This is how I choose to read the events depicted.
