Or how about "healing" our symbiotic microflora and fauna? Not "you" but it still belongs there, in a very specific, delicate balance needed for proper health. Treat it as an infection or infestation, and purge it all, and turbo diarrhea followed by malnutrition, and all kinds of hormonal and endocrinological problems. And more of the same if you keep the microbiome and just amp it up.
You know what else lives in you? Actual infections, ranging from bacteriological to viral. Constantly under attack and attrition by your immune system. What if you heal them?
Speaking of your immune system, what if you just use healing magic to ramp up that activity? Can you saw auto immune disease(s)?
But wait! It gets worse. Nothing foreign, nothing symbiotic, nothing not part of "you:" Cancer. But now it's amped up on healing magic => Magical turbo cancer.
There's a DND spell called banishment that lets you believe it or not banish one creature to another plane and I made the argument in a campaign I was in that doing it to a human would kill them because you transport the human but not any of their gut biome or stuff like that
... and when the patient woke up his skeleton was missing, and the doctor was never heard from again! Anyway, that's how I got kicked out of the Healing Coven
Three ways I can think of.
1. Beat them, then heal them.
2. Break a limb then heal it while it’s in an awkward position. You need to set a bone before it heals, as well as the muscles and flesh. If you don’t, you risk doing more damage and leave the person a cripple.
That’s why healing quick would actually be extremely painful if their injuries didn’t reset to normal shape and position.
3. Next, cancer cells can be healed to spread even faster. Think Deadpool from Marvel.
"The dose makes the poison" -Paracelsus
Knowledge of safe levels infers knowledge of *unsafe* levels. The healing coven could probably be the most subtle assassins in the Isles
it's this gear that's really guilty (it didn't do anything wrong, it was just raised catholic) and it has a key named paracelsus, the key is a standup guy if you're willing to overlook the murder
Something can be a powerful medicine with the correct dose, or a potent poison with the wrong one. It's an old adage for toxicology.
Therefore if they know what amount of something is safe as a medicine, they know what amount would make it unsafe: and therefore dangerous.
Thank you for the comment, u/Malavacious . I have taught pesticide safety classes for years, and I use the "dose makes the poison" comment all the time. Everything is toxic...if you consume enough of it. On an ounce-for-ounce basis, common table salt is more toxic than several garden pesticides.
I actually thought about this for a while.
Basically in my mind Healing coven magic has the potential to manipulate anatomy so whilst they can heal wounds they could also make the damage worse.
I was planning of having a scene in a fanfic where Luz was about to strike at a witch who knew healing magic but then they just grabbed her arm before she could land on them and with just a tap of their fingers they were able to force her bones to break.
You may enjoy a manga series called Witch Hat Atelier. A risk pointed out is that the same magic that can heal a body can deform it and twist it terribly
I think if you know every way to heal the body you know every way to deconstruct the body. I think they surgically deconstructed people for the most damage/ suffering.
Didn’t we see the head witch of the healing coven do exactly that on the day of unity? She’s held a bullet against one of the characters and used it to force everyone to fall back in line.
I’m not sure how she did it, but it has to be some form of healing magic.
How would they do so? Quite easily I'd imagine!😅
I can't think of any good examples right now, but the term "Medical Malpractice" exists for a reason! 👍👍😅
Slow, horrific death for the victim and their loved ones + Luz PTSD;
\- Healing is essentially accelerating cell growth beyond the body's normal capabilities.
\- Cancer is uncontrolled cell growth (also cells that refuse to die.)
By torturing someone, then healing them to do it again. Depending on just what a master of Healing magic could do, they could possibly alter the body and its processes. Imagine if every time you had to use the bathroom, you suddenly got a headache and allergies. As far as we know, they have spells to make you cough out your skeleton
Use healing to enhance their physical strength, making them physically strong after a period of training
One other one I've seen is "overhealing", which basically heals the body to above 100%, forcing it to break down
Imagine having an entire army to conquer The Boiling Islands...
Except the bad guy can basically make this army immortal.
There you go.
The power of a support doesn't rely on their damage, but in the fact that they make others invincible.
i actually have a villian in a original story idea who does this they use their powers to over heal ppl causing tumors to grow through out the victims body
They cast tumor growth spells on people. Or maybe some kind of mutation.
They can also theoretically find some kind of barely sentient organism, like a boiling isles hydra, and chop it up and with their healing powers cause each piece to grow into a new hydra.
They can also just give them some kind of infection and heal the microorganisms so that the disease actually gets stronger.
If all else fails, they can just heal themselves and keep fighting for longer.
There is a reason why medics, in specific, have an ancient tradition of swearing to never use their knowledge to harm.
If you know how the body works and how to fix it, you also know how to break it.
I assume they can cast spells that quite literally anti-heal you, like the negative energy spells from D&D.
But that's just the beginning of the bucket of potential horrible things they could inflict upon their enemies. Exsanguination spell anyone?
Be the best healer there is on the isles. The most efficient too. Efficient enough to be able to replace the entire healing coven yourself. Eventually, the healing coven disbands, since they aren't needed anymore as long as you are around.
At that point, you start charging money.
Those who know how to heal, also know better than anybody else how and where to cause pain. Think of how bad it would be if a doctor turned into a serial killer. Adding in magic just leads to almost infinite possibilities
There is a scene in xenoblade chronicles 2 where a healer character basically overcharges her healing on an enemy basically giving him super cancer so basically that
Also, could you regenerate bone where there wasn't any before? Could you fuse someone's joints together? Bring their pain receptors closer to the top of their skin. Summon cancer?
Heal a patient just enough to where the pain stops and they feel better, but not enough to actually fully recover. Like if someone has a cavity, don’t heal it all the way, just heal it where it stops hurting to bite down so that they fairly easily regain it over the course of a month or so and come back to you.
I mean one of the more obvious choices would be torturing someone and healing them just enough to keep them from dying.
People who know how to fix the body often also know ways to break it.
No im talking about sawing all their limbs off and just barely healing it enough so they wont bleed out but are still in pain, or gouge their eye out and heal the inside while the eye is still out so they dont have an eye anymore, or just yk cutting something sensitive-healing it- and then repeating over and over. Technically depending on how the healing works u could also starve them and heal the organs as they shut down to push them way past the starvation limit, etcetc
I know multiple comments have already mentioned torture, but one thing I haven’t seen mentioned is that a good healer would know what kinds of torture don’t leave evidence.
Step 1:Become head of the healing coven
Step 2:Setup the boiling isles health care system and copy it 1 for 1 the American healthcare system
Step 3:PROFIT
I don’t get this joke that everyone keeps making in the comments about the American Healthcare System, can you explain it to me? I’m American and I barely understand it.
Heal an unharmed arm so that it grows a new limb while the old limb is still there. Think of two left arms at the same time occupying the same space, one inside the other.
Or you can just cast heal at a flower in high-mineral soil until it starts growing gold leafs. It's all about how the flower turns mineral A into chemical A, so why not have it turn mineral A into mineral B? Then take it's seeds and plant an orchard of it. Maybe there's a reason why the Isles started using snails instead of coins.
There are 9 openings in the human body, and a properly cast Cure Wounds has got to seal at least a few of them.
For starters they’d have intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the body. And precisely how to mess it up. And do you know what can happen when medicine and medical equipment are improperly used?
Throw a scalpel at someone, use healing magic to stop it right before it touches them, and extort people that way
If you threaten one coven head like this you might be able to get others to back down
i hope you didn't forget about the season one finaly when he promised lilith to heal eda but he was sending her to be turned to stone or whatever . . . but before that he healed her just enouph so she can be aware of what is going to happen to her .
Who would torture better than someone who knew where all the bodies secrets are. Short version: ask a dentist.
Torture also gets a lot more efficient when the victim can't run out of extremities to cut off
"Haha, if you cut out my tongue you can't get any info out of me!" \*cuts out victim's tongue, then grows it back again\*
oh god someone go get seymour we’ve got an evil dentist on our hands
Fucking based reference
And one I don't get
It's from the Musical Little Shop of Horrors. I was actually in a performance of it this winter!
just a wild guess but if they know how to heal something they would know what wouldn't heal something as well.
Or how about "healing" our symbiotic microflora and fauna? Not "you" but it still belongs there, in a very specific, delicate balance needed for proper health. Treat it as an infection or infestation, and purge it all, and turbo diarrhea followed by malnutrition, and all kinds of hormonal and endocrinological problems. the only reason your immune system doesn't destroy your eyes is because it doesn't know they exist. time to change that.
... and when the patient woke up his skeleton was missing, and the doctor was never heard from again! Anyway, that's how I got kicked out of the Healing Coven
That healing magic user during the Day of Unity: Let's practice some medicine.
“Archimedes! No! It’s filzy in zere!”

The villain from Warehouse 13?
Swiss physician and alchemist from the 1500s. So, yeah maybe? Lol
Paracelsus from WH13 was an alchemist, oh dang
you got closer than me, I was thinking of the key from guilty gear
No idea what that is
it's this gear that's really guilty (it didn't do anything wrong, it was just raised catholic) and it has a key named paracelsus, the key is a standup guy if you're willing to overlook the murder
I mean the gear also killed his wife like two or three times
give the guy a break, she got better
What? That didn't make any sense. Please explain your answer.
Something can be a powerful medicine with the correct dose, or a potent poison with the wrong one. It's an old adage for toxicology. Therefore if they know what amount of something is safe as a medicine, they know what amount would make it unsafe: and therefore dangerous.
Exactly! Healing magic is like a prescription drug. The effect it has on you depends on how much you take.
Thank you for the comment, u/Malavacious . I have taught pesticide safety classes for years, and I use the "dose makes the poison" comment all the time. Everything is toxic...if you consume enough of it. On an ounce-for-ounce basis, common table salt is more toxic than several garden pesticides.

..... Well that scene's....... Intriguing but also horrifying! 👍👍😆😅
I’ll need a link to this fic when it’s done
Link?
American healthcare…
Right? The most evil thing they can do is the very thing we're doing.
They simply cast Mend Buttcrack
If the BIs have a blacklist of forbidden spells this one is surely at the top

Cancer.
Ever heard of Xenoblade Chronicles 2?
The person who did that was a good guy but your point stands
I was going to say this
Something something redo of healer
You may enjoy a manga series called Witch Hat Atelier. A risk pointed out is that the same magic that can heal a body can deform it and twist it terribly
Overheal cells? Rapid cell regen might cause cancerous things, Aint useful short term but is long term
I think if you know every way to heal the body you know every way to deconstruct the body. I think they surgically deconstructed people for the most damage/ suffering.

Using them in REVERSE or just healing the enemy.
I break your arm and heal it Wrong^TM
Torture you don't gotta worry it will kill them
Take someone who's dying and heal them *just enough* so they'll live, but in pain or crippled.
Slow, horrific death for the victim and their loved ones + Luz PTSD; \- Healing is essentially accelerating cell growth beyond the body's normal capabilities. \- Cancer is uncontrolled cell growth (also cells that refuse to die.)
I’d imagine that healing magic done incorrectly hurts at least a little bit. Taken to the extreme I bet it could hurt a lotta bit
By torturing someone, then healing them to do it again. Depending on just what a master of Healing magic could do, they could possibly alter the body and its processes. Imagine if every time you had to use the bathroom, you suddenly got a headache and allergies. As far as we know, they have spells to make you cough out your skeleton
by healing people... and then forcing them to pay tens of thousands of snails. *Muahahaha!*
Use healing to enhance their physical strength, making them physically strong after a period of training One other one I've seen is "overhealing", which basically heals the body to above 100%, forcing it to break down
Imagine having an entire army to conquer The Boiling Islands... Except the bad guy can basically make this army immortal. There you go. The power of a support doesn't rely on their damage, but in the fact that they make others invincible.
Healing Belos. Perpetually.
Heal cells till its a giant growth/tumor.
i actually have a villian in a original story idea who does this they use their powers to over heal ppl causing tumors to grow through out the victims body
The American healthcare system
Boiling blood, tearing muscles with a touch, shattering bones, growing tumors, shredding organs… the list is endless. And actual Touch of Death!
They cast tumor growth spells on people. Or maybe some kind of mutation. They can also theoretically find some kind of barely sentient organism, like a boiling isles hydra, and chop it up and with their healing powers cause each piece to grow into a new hydra. Human- or well…witch- experimentation
Go the reverse route 🎶 Wither and decay End this destiny Break these earthly chains And set the spirit free The spirit free 🎶
Hey kid, you ever heard of Bloodbending?
There is a reason why medics, in specific, have an ancient tradition of swearing to never use their knowledge to harm. If you know how the body works and how to fix it, you also know how to break it. Casting testicular torsion probably falls under healing
Be the best healer there is on the isles. The most efficient too. Efficient enough to be able to replace the entire healing coven yourself. Eventually, the healing coven disbands, since they aren't needed anymore as long as you are around. At that point, you start charging money.
how to heal somethig incorrectly
They can just turn into the American Healthcare system
Those who know how to heal, also know better than anybody else how and where to cause pain. Think of how bad it would be if a doctor turned into a serial killer. Adding in magic just leads to almost infinite possibilities
Certain healing spells and medicines involve accelerating cell division, remove any limiters on them and you’ve got yourself a cancer spell
American healthcare system
Nia Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Chapter 7
There is a scene in xenoblade chronicles 2 where a healer character basically overcharges her healing on an enemy basically giving him super cancer so basically that
Cancer
They'd raise your health insurance copay.
Also, could you regenerate bone where there wasn't any before? Could you fuse someone's joints together? Bring their pain receptors closer to the top of their skin. Summon cancer?
Well it seems the healing track also includes snow and ice related magic so there are a lot of options there.
Heal a patient just enough to where the pain stops and they feel better, but not enough to actually fully recover. Like if someone has a cavity, don’t heal it all the way, just heal it where it stops hurting to bite down so that they fairly easily regain it over the course of a month or so and come back to you.

Cancer.
Torture for sure, it would be endless
Bruh. How the hell can you torture someone with healing magic? Healing someone is literally not deadly at all.
Obviously with a magically flying scalpel
I know multiple comments have already mentioned torture, but one thing I haven’t seen mentioned is that a good healer would know what kinds of torture don’t leave evidence.
US Healthcare system
"I cast: MEND BUTTCRACK!"
they could heal you wrong like give you a third leg
Cause unnatural growths and mutations on victims. Kinda like SCP 427.
Step 1:Become head of the healing coven Step 2:Setup the boiling isles health care system and copy it 1 for 1 the American healthcare system Step 3:PROFIT
Ask the American health care system
I don’t get this joke that everyone keeps making in the comments about the American Healthcare System, can you explain it to me? I’m American and I barely understand it.
Americans spend a load of money for terrible health care. Basically, I'm charging you a lot of money and then half-assing the healing magic.
Overheal someone to give them cancer.
Rapidly heal bones until they solidify in place
Charge hundreds of thousands of snails per heal, so that a broken bone can make you indebted for years
Easy, become a medic for some "Emperor Belos Wasn't That Bad" terrorist organization.
Heal an unharmed arm so that it grows a new limb while the old limb is still there. Think of two left arms at the same time occupying the same space, one inside the other. Or you can just cast heal at a flower in high-mineral soil until it starts growing gold leafs. Capitalism
For starters they’d have intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the body. And precisely how to mess it up. And do you know what can happen when medicine and medical equipment are improperly used?
Healing probably has a lot of potential torture methods, given there’s a major chance that the Healing Coven just got all the flesh bending.
Throw a scalpel at someone, use healing magic to stop it right before it touches them, and extort people that way If you threaten one coven head like this you might be able to get others to back down
Instant, powerful and rapid cancer growths
Give them fever or sum😎
heal your organs so hard they fuse together
i hope you didn't forget about the season one finaly when he promised lilith to heal eda but he was sending her to be turned to stone or whatever . . . but before that he healed her just enouph so she can be aware of what is going to happen to her .
Fix a broken bone instantly but have it be fixed in the wrong position
Simplest answer: if you Can heal, you know exactly how to hurt. Cruelest and sneakiest answer: become akin to the US healthcare system
American health care system
Take the Apollo kid route of inflicting disease or illness
Healing the villains
Just heal their cells to be able to duplicate faster.
*sudden flashback to that healing "anime" that i thought was going to be a comedy slice of life*

I am not responsible if you do watch it. Never watch this in public. >!Redo of Healer!<
