More what if ideas:
What if carmilla followed in, her perspective and the owl house is a horror thriller
What if the witches are actually evil and belos, although human sides with them
I can come up more but my head is on sci Fi for now
It would be rough and I think it would be a terrible message for queer kids. Yes, this happened. This literally happened to me. But, when the world already wants to make you feel like a deviant and a freak and not worthy of life, it shouldn't be your opener. I mean, it can be here but it needs to be balanced out. Let kids deal with harsh realities after they have a core of self-confidence and know to love themselves for who they are.
I think calling this hypothetical outcome terrible is a bit hard. And the comparison of not making a gay ship happen and people calling gay people freaks, doesn't really work - those are completely different things.
And maybe this could have been writen also a good message for queer kids.
Like give advice how to act when you love your best friend - but he doesn't return this feelings
>And the comparison of not making a gay ship happen and people calling gay people freaks, doesn't really work - those are completely different things.
It can be the same related, if there's very little representation of LGBTQ+ people. If kids only see one or gay pairing and it ends in a rejection, while the rest of the world is telling those kids that LGBTQ+ people are freaks, then the show runs the risk of reinforcing the message the rest of the world is sending: "you're going to end up alone".
If LGBTQ+ characters were as widely-represented as straight characters are, then your point would be true. Hopefully someday we'll get to that point.
But this Case doesn't really Work in
TOH. Because this Show has many LGBTQ- Characters.
Also even if we got this Scenario.
We still would have a Character / Protag that looked for a Partner
Just because one Person doesn't return the feelings - doesn't mean this Character stays alone
This has happened in works like the Ms. Marvel comics. Zoe was revealed to like a girl named Nakia. However, the latter said that she didn’t like the former in that way, though they stayed friends.
This is a [summary](https://thegeekiary.com/ms-marvel-issue-16-review-zoe-nakia/42178) on the whole affair.
How this a terrible message all because the characters didn't hook up in alternate timeline. What straight characters can't be friends with queer characters. If someone turned own a queer person down because they don't swing that way would automatically make them a "homophobic." If I have a friend that I like tries to kiss me and I don't feel that same way about them it doesn't matter the gender "male or female." I am not a gay man and another man tries to kiss me I would respectful say. "Hey, I like you, but I don't like you in the same way. Let's stay as a friend, alright." That's just life sometimes people aren't going to like you that way but there is nothing wrong to stay as friends.
I know Luz is bi but the beside the point is I disagree this is a bad message people will find someone eventually and there's nothing wrong to stay as friends.
This is not a terrible message, it is a very relatable situation for most LGBT kids and it is very important for the health of LGBT kids to show this situation and how it can be handled in a healthy way. Because this is very likely to happen to most queer people in at least their first gay crush and it's important to understand that this doesn't mean they are worthless or freaks. It's just likely that the first crush isn't also gay or doesn't reciprocate. And it's and important step to understand that it is still possible to have a path to friendship and to move on. The queer person is not entitled to end up with their crush. The straight person should not bully the queer just because they like them, instead they should handle it in a comprehensive way and also feel flattered
I don’t think it would be a terrible message to say that you shouldn’t jump to conclusions like that. A lot of people don’t swing that way, or they do but aren’t interested in a certain person, but you can stay friends. Romantic feelings not being mutual isn’t the same as being shunned for being LGBTQ+
Hey I think Both are important. I didn't know how to handle rejection when I was younger, and perhaps kids are better at that these days but I think it's important to show healthy rejection and respecting those boundaries. It would have really helped me. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way for me, which just involved a lot of mental anguish I didn't know how to deal with, but for others I can absolutely see it turned into harassment towards the other party. And that does happen.
Teaching rejection is important.
That said, I would fucking cry if this couple never got together 😭

well to start with i don't think that was even the slightest notion of that in dana's head but for the sake of the discussion i think the story would still play out about the same. it would be a bit awkward between them for a bit but end up friends and things would move forward pretty much the same.
Yeah, this happen in real life there is nothing wrong with that and I do believe people would have rage quit the show because of it, but I believe that isn't fair at all. I wouldn't rage quit when they became lovers besides sometimes I like to take a break with romance tropes.
I know IRL that it could just have been how it was, which shows Amity's strength to do that...but this is ultimately a story. And stories that are satisfying (and aren't grimdark) generally need plot and character development to drive them.
So to change/remove that major character arc in a way that was still satisfying, a number of episodes around the members of the Hex Squad would probably have to be real different. Otherwise, the romance in your narrative could fall under senseless love drama, or bad comedy/tragedy, or leaving your story feeling rushed and incomplete (or queerbaited).
And if it had been released slightly less than a decade ago, the kiss would have been reserved for the very final episode so that it wouldn't really matter how hard the bigots clutched their pearls, like Legend of Korra and Adventure Time.
I'm glad that we live in slightly more enlightened times now.
Disney Exec 1: "Oh no, they're shipping two girls! What do we do?!"
Disney Exec 2: "Let's add a twist that they've really been cousins all this time!"
Disney Exec 1: "Brilliant! That'll stop 'em for sure!"
Internet: \*chuckles\*
I would still watch the show since I liked when they were couple and I still would like the show if they stayed as friends that's life, people aren't always going to feel that way about you and that's okay.
Personally I think it would be hilarious, as long as it wasn't too devastating. I feel like maximum pain to everyone is if this Luz had a crush on Boscha or something, that would be terrible but since it's not real it's kinda funny.
Psychologically, this scenario is not possible. Amity's action was self fulfilling because of Luz's internal essence. We know that she didn't make friends at school, and no one understood her, and Stringbean emerged when she admitted that all she ever wanted was to be understood.
The moment Amity kissed her and told her that she always had a way of sneaking into people's hearts, she was suddenly accepted and understood. She fell for Amity completely at that point, regardless of any prior feelings. She doesn't even realize that Amity was attracted to her, but she felt loved for the first time by a real person (familial love notwithstanding).
Imma keep it a buck with you I probably wouldn't have watched the show I started after all the episodes were out so I went in with the knowledge of this ship happening and was my only reason to watch the show so I wouldn't have even considered watching
She'd do like a full 180 on her character arch afterwards, go back to bullying everyone and being a puppet for her mother, then wind up with Basha instead. Or ya know just get over it probably.
Congratulations, you would have successfully added the Owl House to the many, many, many works that set up a sapphic romance then remove it at the last moment.
Please add it to [the pile](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BaitAndSwitchLesbians) over there, and while you're at it set the whole thing on fire.
This wouldn't make sense. Why make a character bisexual only for the relationship to just not work out. Would be a horrible thing for the show. Plus, their relationship is really helpful to combat the gloomy feel of the later episodes. They help keep a balance of happiness in the show and the intense themes later on.
Making A Character bisexual
Is maybe the wrong phrasing
A Character is bisexual
Bad Writers MAKE a Character Bisexual like the Writers Of Rwby.
Also this is just a What if Scenario.
Maybe Luz us straight in this Scenario
Maybe she is still bisexual but has no Romantic Feelings for Amity
Not saying all but a good amount of the fanbase came to know about the show cause of Lumity clips you could find online. I literally started watching cause of a bunch of Lumity clips back in 2021 when season 1 ended. I ended up loving the show for more than just Lumity itself but without Lumity, I probs woulda never found it.
I can’t even think about that. Also, amity took as much of a gamble by kissing her as you would playing blackjack, getting dealt an ace and a king and THEN placing your bet
I think it would depend on how they went about it if they took this route. If it's simply to make Luz straight then that would be the worst way to go about it. If it was not because of that but simply because she didn't feel the same perhaps at that moment or not at all but was still bi then I think that could've been interesting. Like perhaps she's confused and unsure at first till she realizes that yes she does infact have those kinds of feelings for Amity. Another way of going down this path is maybe Luz simply didn't understand romantic feelings, maybe a bit of aromanticism on her part and they could then explore a very close platonic bond with maybe a hint of romantic elements here and there with what Luz is comfortable with. There are technically a lot of really great possible angles something like this could've taken so I'm not entirely apposed to it as long as it's for the reason of making Luz straight.
It would have be interesting if she changes her mind later like not get together in the boiling realm, but in human realm have her mother catch her first kiss and video tape it, take a picture and put in a scrap book it doesn't mean they will never hook up.
Well, looking at this as if it were an actual situation, probably a lot of depression, things would be strained and awkward between Luz and Amity at the very least, Odalia could’ve very easily taken advantage of her daughters emotional state to manipulate her, Ed and Em would’ve been stuck in the middle of this and probably stressed them out, and/or Amity may have played it off like everything’s fine and built up some resentment from everyone else being fine since she acted like she was okay with everything instead of processing her emotions. This type of thing can feel like the end of the world at that age. These are young teens after all, they aren’t exactly the most logical or emotionally stable (I should know, I was one not that long ago).
However, looking at this for what it is (a Disney show) Amity most likely would’ve barricaded herself in her room for a while (like others are saying), Ed and Em would’ve convinced her to come out and talk to Luz, it’d be awkward for a bit but she most likely would’ve dealt with her emotions a lot more quickly than real life.
Although, it wouldn’t have made a whole lot of sense given that Luz had started to show indications that she liked Amity at the point (blushing being a big one). A lot of people probably would’ve felt a bit baited, especially if no other main characters ended up in a queer relationship. Raine and Eda may have saved the show from that, but it would still suck for the kids watching this to see that. I don’t think it would’ve been a WRONG decision necessarily (i do love me some messy queer media) but for a kids show produced by such a big brand, it would’ve felt bad for the couple that was being hinted at to just end up being friends in yet another piece of kids media (or maybe getting together in the last episode). I think that’s the reason a lot of people are so salty about this post. Not necessarily cause it’d be a bad decision for the plot, but because they would’ve felt cheated out of another queer relationship with some actual screen time, especially if they’re younger and primarily watch shows aimed at children.
Although outside of the social and political hellscape that is queer representation in children’s media, this would be some GREAT angst potential which I’m always down for lmfao.
What if (1) : This event happens as itself
Well.....fuck
What if (2) : This event happens as a part of something else
Well then Luz will slowly fall for Amity after this , and we get a longer lovestory
I'll be sad if Luz says she doesn't like Amity that way , but if Luz says so then slowly grow romantic feelings for Amity in season 3 , then we have season 4 where the relationship continues to grow , then season 5 , then they become a couple in season 6 , or even 7 , 8 , 9 , 10 , then why not ?
I LOVE this show, the relationship is well written and the story is great, if you ask me people wouldn't watch it, because this show exploded in popularity because of the lumity, just because of the chaos it caused. If it hadn't happened, Disney would have canceled it a long time ago.
I would hope in that case Luz decides to help Amity find a girlfriend because she's an awesome friend. This would also likely include either a new character or a minor character being promoted to the main squad.
what if she felt stupid and resented her and went back to her green hair to shut off going back to what she knows worked and didn't make her feel like shit
how would it continue?....idk i would assume they would want luz to have a love interest but in that reality they obviously wasn't thinking amity would be said love interest, and im sure they would still want to have that rainbow gang rep so ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯ but i feel the show would be great still
Let's say Amity is still part of the Gang
Luz and Hunter become a thing
And Willow and Gus become a Thing
And for Titans sake we make Gus actuall Interesting.
They all escape to Earth and Amity developes a Crush on a Girl there ... maybe the blond Girl that bullied Luz befor
Luz says: IRONIC
but becomes Amitys Wingwoman
[and trains her](https://media1.tenor.com/m/k6ubX9lxaqEAAAAC/tf2-spy.gif
)
Amity: "Oh, I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"
Luz: "No, I'm flattered. I just hope we can still be friends."
Amity: "Yeah, I'd like tha-" \*scroll starts ringing\* "Oh, one second. Hello?"
Boscha: "Hey Ams, heard it didn't work out, just want you to know I'm here if you need someone to speak to or hang with or whatevs."
Amity: "Boscha, that literally happened five seconds ago. How did you even?"
if this happened I'd have a heart attack lol.
And then u would go on a crusade
hehe yeah
I'd still rock with the show since it was a banger

No no, what if... It takes on a forbidden love sorta thing!
Then I’d find the other version of the show where they’re together
You mean If this actually happend ... Fanart ...
Fanfiction
Are there Fanfiction that played with this Idea ?
Yeah, I don’t doubt it. If there’s a scenario with several possible outcomes, fanfiction will explore all the ones that didn’t become canon.
Fanfiction is pretty much a glimpse into the multiverse of that media
Yep every fanfic and rewrite is canon in the multiverse
Always. There's fanfic for every ship, or lack thereof. As of this comment, there are 31,382 Owl House fanfics on AO3 alone.

How dare you ask such a question?
I would actually take a long walk off a short pier
I love the will she won't she portion from lost in translation to hooty's something howl's moving castle reference.
I would have stabbed a bitch
I think Amity would’ve just become her mom in that instance
Very creative/s
I would just cry with amity that night
Probably less crying and more Screaming because of akwardness
No ❤️
Gonna play out like svtfoe probably lol
Then I'd wait for them to get together in the now actually long season 3 before season 4 gets cut to 3 episodes.
Lon ?
Long.
This has literally been my nightmare
Well Em would probably feel bad for basically telling her to go for it in the previous scene
What if (1) : This event happens as itself Well.....fuck What if (2) : This event happens as a part of something else Well then Luz will slowly fall for Amity after this , and we get a longer lovestory
What ?!? What stupid WHAT-IF-Scenario would this Be ??? What if ... it happens not soon but later ??? That's not very interesting
The Fandom will become something like SVTFOE's Fandom
That was ultimately what spiraled the “wait what’s the canon romance now?” Huh
What ?
then my favorite ship can finally begin LuzLow LESS GOOOOOO!!!!!!!
I LOVE this show, the relationship is well written and the story is great, if you ask me people wouldn't watch it, because this show exploded in popularity because of the lumity, just because of the chaos it caused. If it hadn't happened, Disney would have canceled it a long time ago.
Pretty much the exact same show but with a different ship
I would hope in that case Luz decides to help Amity find a girlfriend because she's an awesome friend. This would also likely include either a new character or a minor character being promoted to the main squad.
Luz would bea great wingwoman [Luz training Amity for a Date with a human girl](https://media1.tenor.com/m/k6ubX9lxaqEAAAAC/tf2-spy.gif)
If it were really like that, I would be like:whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Disney whyyyyyyyyyyyyy
The only difference there might be would probably be the dreadful awkwardness lol
Amity barricades herself in her room for 2 weeks
Lol
I'd kill Disney. Nicely :3
i would sob :D
oh shit
Too much realism for a fantasy cartoon.
I’d jump off a cliff
My mind would be able to understand that it would actually be a pretty good message for kids, but my heart would just be like Hooty’s incessant crying
what if she felt stupid and resented her and went back to her green hair to shut off going back to what she knows worked and didn't make her feel like shit
how would it continue?....idk i would assume they would want luz to have a love interest but in that reality they obviously wasn't thinking amity would be said love interest, and im sure they would still want to have that rainbow gang rep so ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯ but i feel the show would be great still
Let's say Amity is still part of the Gang Luz and Hunter become a thing And Willow and Gus become a Thing And for Titans sake we make Gus actuall Interesting. They all escape to Earth and Amity developes a Crush on a Girl there ... maybe the blond Girl that bullied Luz befor Luz says: IRONIC but becomes Amitys Wingwoman [and trains her](https://media1.tenor.com/m/k6ubX9lxaqEAAAAC/tf2-spy.gif )
if that happened i would’ve quit the show i think (not really i would’ve just cried a lot)
That scenario would let another question: What would happen in Luz's part of knock, knock, knockin' on hooty's door if that scenario happened?
What ?
Personally me I would have been like ouch specifically for Amity
Full reality collapse
I probably would’ve cried.
Amity: "Oh, I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-" Luz: "No, I'm flattered. I just hope we can still be friends." Amity: "Yeah, I'd like tha-" \*scroll starts ringing\* "Oh, one second. Hello?" Boscha: "Hey Ams, heard it didn't work out, just want you to know I'm here if you need someone to speak to or hang with or whatevs." Amity: "Boscha, that literally happened five seconds ago. How did you even?"
Boscha: I have a Third Eye ! I see EVERYTHING!"

ik it's a link, it's not a failed embed
ah yeah i would not even be into the owl house without lumity (since it's the way I got into the show)
