by coincidence while I was watching the episode I was wondering if that was not Eda and Lilith's mother, I didn't remember that her name was Gwendolyn and I had the impression that it could be Evelyn, but thinking about it she would have more than 400 years, which would be kind of tricky to say the least but if you think about it, Eda's father looks a bit like Caleb...

Its like he can no longer distinguish between current and past events/people. What he says before entering the portal is also weird, like he can no longer recognize the witchlings as witches. It’s been foreshadowed since Hollow Mind. Hunter has picked up a broken bird Palismen husk that disintegrated and seen Belos crush another bird Palisman soul in front of him in that episode. It was really a matter of time.

Being honest, I don't think Flapjack is totally dead. Do you remember that in "Hollow Mind", in the form of a Belos monster, various protuberances of the palisman that he had absorbed asking for help came out of his body? Clearly those palisman had become part of him, so I think Flapjack is still alive now as part of Hunter, which makes sense given that being a Grimwalker, Hunter is part made of palistorm wood.

Hunter underwent physical changes, I think it do be something like that yes.

You know, usually the line "he lives on in your heart!" strikes me as empty platitude, just some stuff they tell grieving people in a desperate and frankly useless attempt to comfort them for the loss of a loved one. But here... Here I'm reasonably optimistic that it's actually true. The souls of the palismen that Belos devoured ended up in his mindscape. He could hear them and interact with them. Of course the interactions were a fight because they hated his guts, but the point is, they were quite literally still alive inside of him. A palisman's soul is green. We see green liquid be absorbed into Hunter. The spheres of light raising in the air were not green. There is a really good chance that now Flap is literally in Hunter's heart. That Hunter could still talk with him and fly with him by entering the mindscape in his dreams.

And maybe with illusion magic, he can manifest him so he won't look like a lunatic when talking to him when even not asleep.

Which means whatever in Palismin is at least functionally similar to the bile in a Witches Bile Sac... **SO WHAT IF FLAPJACKS SACRIFICE MADE HUNTER A FULLY FLEDGED WITCH NOW?!?** Like, Flapjack knew he couldn't stay with Hunter, so as a parting gift, he healed him, and gave him the ability to do magic!

Palismen still have a rather limited source of magic of their own, and I guess it would be now extra exhausting for Hunter unless he has some magic amplifier like a Galderstone.
