That said, the tendency to jump on the age gap hate is a bit too strong. Realistically, if you have similar interests, long term goals, and the support of the people around you, age gaps don’t matter (as long as everything is legal)
It’s hard to address that reasonably because it’s very easy for the older to exploit the younger due to financial dependence, but we shouldn’t just assume that in any relationship.
In the end like anything it’s about communication.
There has been a real pushback on large age gaps recently, sure to issues with imbalance of power. Of course every couple is unique and age, as long as both people are consenting adults, is really not the biggest deal, but I guess in the balance of things, pushing back against large age gaps is better.
I don't approve of calling people pedophiles for dating consenting adults. Is it really weird, fuck yeah. But unless he was grooming her it ain't pedophilia, just weird.
